Chapter 10 - CHAPTER TEN

It was weekend and Kisha was preparing to head over to the restaurant, when she got a call from an unknown contact, informing her about Lucas involving in an accident.

She was texted the address of the hospital and she postponed her plans of going to the restaurant to check up on Lucas.

When she arrived at the hospital, Kisha was directed to the ward, where Lucas had been kept. She was informed by the doctor that Lucas suffered heavy concussion during the accident and that he would perfectly fine.

Kisha stared at his unconscious body and prayed silently within her heart that nothing would happen to him.

Still in the ward, Kisha noticed a phone ringing and checked to see that it was Lucas' phone. She picked the call.

"Lucas! You must really think I am a fool huh? I have waited for days and you haven't showed up with my money? Do you want me to expose the DNA test results? I must assume Kisha would be really sad that the one person she called a friend did this act to her. I am giving you twenty four hours to get my money or the test results would be released to the Alessandros" Kisha was totally speechless.

The voice from the other end was familiar. She realized it was the doctor from the day the DNA test about the veracity of her claim being the daughter of Alessandro was conducted.

"Your claim about not having the ability to make a transfer shouldn't stop you from sending my money dear brother! This isn't the first time you have sent someone to make transactions with me. I want my money delivered in North Hill in twenty four hours else you face the consequence." She listened attentively and realized that the doctor was a brother to Lucas.

Kisha was sad, she felt guilt trapped realizing that Alexander was her father afterall. She didn't understand how Lucas amongst everyone would be the one to do such a thing to her. All the question she ever needed answers to, Lucas had the answers and thus, she was going to wait for Lucas to wake up.

Hours later, Lucas opened his eyes and the rays of the light almost blinded him. He groaned in pain and when Kisha looked towards his direction, she realized he was awake.

When Lucas was certain his eyes was accustomed to the light, he looked around to realize he was in the hospital. Suddenly, a figure came standing right before him. He was surprised to see Kisha.

"You came!" He said with a smile on his face. "I can never be more happier to see you Kisha."

"How about you start explaining to me, why you had to forge a DNA test result, just to disprove the claim that I am the daughter of Alexander Alessandro?" Lucas stared at her in disbelief. How did she know? He wondered.

"I don't know what you are talking about." Lucas said, with a laugh of anxiety preceding his statement. He watched as Kisha fumbled with something in her purse.

"This is your phone. You had a call few hours ago, from your brother who was complaining over the fact that he hadn't been paid by you. I got to know that you pleaded that he forged a DNA test result claiming I am not the daughter of Alexander Alessandro."

At this revelation, Lucas knew there was no lie he could come up with. Kisha had all the evidence needed to hold against him. He was totally clueless as to what to say.

"What have I ever done to you Lucas? I always thought you are one of the good persons out there. Turns out that every devil are usually once angels." Kisha stared one last time at Lucas with disgust and turned around to leave, despite the plea from him.

When Kisha arrived at Anthony's mansion, she rushed over to the dungeon to check on Alexander, who she hadn't fed for the past forty hours. Her heart shattered, seeing that her father was laying in the dungeon sick and his ailment was much worse than the last time.

Kisha knew that she needed to do something really fast as she would be forever guilty, if anything ever happened to her father. Although it was a gamble, Kisha knew exactly the person who had answers to all the problem.

Anthony was in his study room, reviewing some of his documents from work, when he felt a presence. He turned around to see Kisha standing before him, with a look of worry on her face. She was toying with her fingers; a clear indication she had something on her mind.

"I need to tell you something." Anthony closed his document and turned around to face Kisha, giving her his full attention.

"I got to realize today that Alexander Alessandro is my father." Anthony stared at her in confusion as she moved towards him, with tears already forming in her eyes. "Please you have to let the man go. He had suffered enough and is sick. He could die if he doesn't receive any treatment."

Kisha proceeded to kneel down before Anthony. "I want to be the atonement for his sin. Make me suffer and let him leave. You can even keep me in the dungeon, but please just let him go." She begged desperately.

In his entire years, Anthony had never seen someone wiling to sacrifice so much for another, like Kisha was willing to do for her father.

"I will have you know that Alexander Alessandro, your father is the one who killed my parents and siblings as well and not you. I have no reason to punish you for what you didn't do"

Kisha shook her head aggressively, disagreeing with Anthony's statement.

"Please, all I want is to see my father hale and healthy. I promise to do anything, just anything to see that he lives once again." The tears that had formed in Kisha's eyes were fully falling uncontrollably. Her eyes were puffy and she sniffed also.
