Chapter 3 - CHAPTER THREE

The next day the sun was up very early.

Robert had already gotten all the goods that he needed to deliver from Oaster shopping mall, where he was working.

He had delivered half of the goods and now the next address for what he was about to deliver was a problem.

The Death Street.

This was were members of the 'The ring' lived he knew he had to be careful while delivering.

When he arrived at the location of his delivery, Robert got down from the car and come face to face with several members of 'The ring'

"What's good?" One of them asked eyeing him up and down with anger in his eyes.

"I came to deliver a package to a home." He replied, paying attention to their faces as they were still staring at him.

"And what about the price?" The second one with a long red hair asked.

"What price?"

"The price to be paid for walking into our Street." Another member with a deep British accent replied.

"Listen guys, I don't have any money with me at the moment."

"Then you have to leave." The British gang member replied.

"I am just going my job." Robert argued.

"Leave!"

One of the men shoved Robert and he shoved him back. Suddenly he heard a loud noise and something struck his chest.

He looked at the gang members and they all had shocking looks on their faces.

"Ring general! You didn't have to kill him." One of the men argued.

Their voices were drowning in Roberts mind. His knees were weak and he checked his chest to see blood gushing out.

He looked up to see a man holding a gun and gently placing into his pocket and ordering the members to move away.

And right there it struck him.

He has been shot.

He dropped to the ground and the last thing he sees before his vision faded was the wrist watch he had gotten the previous night out with Kisha from the ground glowing.

*

A loud horn pulled Robert away from his sleep and he realized he was on the road. He checked the mirror and it was one of the driver horning.

"Move out of the way you idiot!" He yelled.

Robert turned the ignition of the car and moved to the side and parked safely. The driver kept pouring him insults as he drove away.

After his mind was settle, he begins to wonder exactly what had happened.

He remembered talking with gang members and recalled being shot and then passing out afterwards.

"What is going on with me?" He said out loud.

His phone begins to ring heavily and he checked to see it was an unidentified number that was calling.

"Where is my baby formula that you were asked to deliver a couple of minutes ago!" A loud feminine voice questioned.

"I...I am sorry ma. I am on my way right now." He said and hung up the phone.

Robert checked the address and recognized it as Death Street.

And then it struck him.

It seems like he had went back in time before his death. Although these were his thoughts, but he was still skeptical.

When he arrived at the parking spot at Death Street.

He dropped down from the car and comes face to face with the exact same members he had seen from his life a minute a go

"What's good?" One of them asked.

"I came to deliver a package to a home." Robert replied but this time he moved away and noticed the face of the man that shot him, standing with his gun from afar while gazing at him.

"And what about the price?" The second one with a long red hair asked.

"What price?" He asked playing along.

"The price to be paid for walking into our Street." Another member with a deep British accent replied.

"Listen guys, I don't have any money with me at the moment. But I can offer to help deliver your drugs to this street."

It was a big risk but he knew what was going to come next.

"We want money boy!" The member with the British accent said, shoving him backwards but Robert did not react.

"That's enough."

The man with the gun said and stepped forward with his gun.

Robert's heart was beating fast as the man comes inch close to him, looking him in the eye.

"I am going to let it slide because you are smart. The next time you come to my street without your money, this bullet is going straight to your head."

Robert swallowed a huge lump in his throat. The man placed his gun back in his pocket and signaled to the rest of the members and they all moved away and he followed suit.

Once they were gone, Robert sighed clutching his heart and trying to calm himself.

There are so many questions in his mind that needed answers but he couldn't get his mind to work any answers.

After Robert finished delivering the baby formula, he returned to his car and was ready to leave when he noticed the wrist watch still glowing.

He pressed the surface and someone coughed beside him.

"Who the hell are you?" Robert asked.

"The Architect. A system for manipulating time in general." The figure replied.

"Are you from this watch?" He asked curiously, staring into the watch.

"You picked up the world's most powerful invention and because of that, so many people will be after you."

Robert eyes widened and he tried to take the wrist watch off, but it could not come off.

"You cannot get it away from you. Kisha is in great danger and I am the only one that can help you."

"Please, I don't want her to die. What can you do to help me. Also I have been seeing things these past few days and I am loosing my mind." Robert said, clutching his temple.

"I will tell you everything but first get your bus out of Death Street. It is dangerous over here."
