Chapter 18 - The Lesson of Greed

Grub had entered Lumora Magica without telling anyone. At first, he was amazed. The glowing plants, talking animals, and floating islands made him feel powerful. He thought, if he could control this place, he could control the entire Kingdom of Brightvale.

But Grub didn't know that Lumora Magica was alive. It could sense who came with a kind heart and who came with greed.

As he walked deeper into the magical world, the paths began to shift. Trees moved silently, and the once bright sky turned darker. Strange whispers echoed from the forest. When he turned back, the path had vanished. The magic door was gone.

He was trapped.

Meanwhile, Prince Arin, Minister Tom, and Luna were in Lumora Magica too. They had entered through the secret door in the palace library to show Minister Tom the wonders of the magical world, as he was the first man to ever visit it.

They were guided through the magical land by Liyara, the beautiful and wise Pegasus. She glided gently ahead, leading them through safe paths of light.

"He has gone too far," said Liyara. "The magic world is not kind to those who come with bad thoughts."

The group walked quietly. They found footprints in the soft ground, a torn piece of cloth on a branch, and then a scarf that belonged to Grub. They followed the trail until they heard a voice.

"Help me!" Grub shouted. "Is anyone there? Please help!"

They rushed forward and found him stuck in a deep muddy pit. Vines and branches had wrapped around the hole, forming a cage of living wood. He looked frightened and weak.

"Help me!" he cried again. "I don't want to stay here anymore!"

Prince Arin stepped forward. "This place only lets you leave if you are truly sorry for your actions."

Grub's head lowered. "I was wrong," he said softly. "I lied, I was jealous, and I wanted power. Please forgive me."

The air around them grew quiet. The trees slowly began to move, opening the way. The mud loosened, and the vines uncurled.

The path to safety appeared.

Prince Arin reached out his hand and pulled Grub from the pit. Together with Tom, Luna, and Liyara, they walked back toward the magical door.

Back in the real world, the four of them stood silently in the library. The secret door to Lumora Magica faded behind them, leaving only a faint glow before it disappeared completely.

Grub sat down on a chair. His clothes were covered in dirt. His hands trembled. His face was pale with fear, but his eyes held something new understanding.

Prince Arin looked at him calmly. "You have seen something that very few people know. This magical world must remain a secret. If the wrong people discover it, it could be destroyed."

Grub nodded slowly, still shaken.

"I'm giving you a second chance," Arin continued, "because you were honest and asked for forgiveness. But you must promise, never tell anyone about Lumora Magica or the secret door."

Grub looked up. "I promise. I won't say a word. I have learned my lesson. I don't want to go back there ever again."

Minister Tom stepped forward. His voice was calm and kind. "Keep this promise, Grub. Your life can still change. You don't have to be greedy anymore."

Luna smiled and added, "Sometimes, people just need a chance to do the right thing."

Grub stood up slowly. He looked at the three of them. For the first time in his life, he felt something different, peace.

"I won't tell anyone," he said once again. "Thank you… for saving me."

Prince Arin nodded. "Let's leave the past behind. Go back to your life and try to be better."

Grub left the palace in silence. No more lies. No more tricks.

And the secret of Lumora Magica remained hidden, safe in the hearts of those who truly understood its value.
