Chapter 22 - I Won't Let Anyone In!

Derick and Castorice returned to their home.

After entering the room, Derick went straight to his bed, flopping down lazily.

"Sister Castorice, I'm going to sleep and rest."

Since his body had reverted to that of a teenager, Derick felt perhaps influenced by hormones and the like, his behavior was becoming more like a teenager's should be.

Lying on the bed, making a pouting gesture, Derick felt he definitely couldn't have done this before transmigrating.

Castorice watched him from the side, a doting smile on her lips.

"You sleep, I'll watch over you here." She simply walked to Derick's bedside, reached out to touch his head, and began to gently massage it.

Castorice's movements were now very practiced. The pressure of her massage on Derick's head was just right, not only relieving his physical fatigue but also allowing him to quickly fall asleep.

A few minutes later, Derick entered dreamland.

Seeing him sound asleep, Castorice quietly lowered his head.

Tilting her head to look at Derick's sleeping face, his fair features showed a content expression, his eyelashes fluttered gently with his breathing, and occasionally he smacked his lips, making little chimera-like whimpers.

Castorice remembered how the female shopkeepers pinched Derick's cheeks when he was shopping before leaving. She subconsciously reached out and pinched Derick's cheek too.

Very firm, very interesting.

Castorice pinched it two or three times.

Only then did Castorice realize what she had done. She shyly pulled her hand back, touching her own cheek, feeling it was a bit hot.

What is this? Am I teasing a young boy?

Castorice never thought she would do such a thing one day.

But,

Pinching Derick's cheek was really fun.

She just didn't know what his shy expression would look like if she pinched his cheek when he woke up.

Castorice felt that since Derick appeared, her mood had become much better, though perhaps leaning a bit towards perversion.

To prevent herself from continuing to pinch Derick's cheek, Castorice went to stand guard at the door, preventing anyone from disturbing Derick's rest.

As it turned out, Castorice's thoughts were correct. Not long after she stood guard at the door, Phainon came over wanting to visit Derick.

"Um... never mind, I came to the Marmoreal Market to buy some daily necessities."

Phainon had just started to speak when he saw Castorice's unfriendly gaze.

If you want to disturb Derick's rest, you'll have to get past me first.

Phainon: Can't get past, can't get past...

He made an excuse and quickly turned to leave.

However, before leaving, he still said to Castorice, "Miss Castorice, in a few days, when Derick and you have time, I'll treat you both to a meal."

"Mm, I'll tell Derick."

Castorice nodded.

Phainon quickly left.

Not long after Phainon left, Jason also hurried over.

"I heard you and the Golden Ones went out of the city to rescue another tribe, I came..." His words were cut short as he also saw Castorice guarding the door.

Seeing Castorice, Jason didn't even have Phainon's courage and immediately turned around and walked back the way he came.

Castorice continued to guard the door, not letting anyone disturb Derick's rest.

Next came Tribbie, Trinnon, and Trianne. Castorice naturally couldn't treat the three of them the way she treated Phainon and Jason. Instead, she gently said that Derick was currently sleeping.

Trianne said understandingly, "Then let Little Derick rest well, we'll leave first. By the way, Little Castorice, we also came this time because Aya wanted to tell Little Derick that from now on, the Heroes' Bathhouse is also open to him. When you have time, you can take Little Derick to soak in the hot springs."

"Really? That's wonderful, thank you very much, Lady Aglaea." Hearing Trianne say this, Castorice was very surprised.

The water in the Heroes' Bathhouse was very effective in recovering physical fatigue. If Derick could soak in it, it would bring many benefits to his body.

"That's right, Little Derick may not be a Golden One, but he is our comrade-in-arms."

Tribbie said with her hands on her hips.

"Let's leave first. Tribbie, Trianne, your voices are too loud, it wouldn't be good if you woke Little Derick." Trinnon tugged at Trianne and Tribbie's clothes at this moment and whispered.

"Oh, right." Trianne nodded, then quickly waved goodbye to Castorice, "Then Little Castorice, we'll leave first."

"Mm."

Castorice watched Tribbie, Trinnon, and Trianne leave.

After the three of them left, Castorice continued to stand guard at the door.

This time, another group of people arrived. But seeing these people, Castorice's expression grew colder. She took a step forward, looked at the white-haired woman leading the group, and said softly, "Elder Caenis, may I ask what brings you here?"

These were elders from the Senate. Although political power in Okhema was mostly managed by the Golden Ones, these Senate elders still retained significant power. Especially the woman before her, Caenis, who had repeatedly interfered with the Golden Ones' decrees and clashed with Aglaea.

Her arrival now, Castorice didn't think it was a good thing.

Especially since she had been an assassin before, with top-notch concealment skills, and had Golden Ones' lives on her hands.

Derick's skills were much worse compared to the Golden Ones; facing Caenis's sneak attack, he likely had no ability to resist.

Concern makes one confused; she had even forgotten about Derick's 'immortality'.

"Lady Castorice, as an elder of the Okhema Senate, it is natural to care for every citizen of Okhema, isn't it?" Caenis said to Castorice.

"Derick's appearance is a good thing for all of Okhema. He can resist the aura of the Death Titan Thanatos. If we knew the reason, wouldn't it allow all the people of Okhema to escape Thanatos's shadow?"

"Just like the people of the Golden Age, without death or disease, all of us could live freely."

She wanted to bypass Castorice.

"For the future of Okhema, please hand Derick over to the Senate."

The Senate was very dissatisfied with the Golden Ones currently holding power in Okhema. Now, Derick's appearance brought another possibility.

They didn't need to rely on the Golden Ones to maintain Okhema.

For her own desire for power, Caenis planned to get Derick under her control.

Caenis wanted to enter through the window. As she took a step forward, Castorice's scythe blocked her path.

Caenis turned her head and saw Castorice approaching her.

She didn't dare withstand Castorice's curse and quickly dodged aside.

"Castorice, what are you planning to do?" Caenis said, both shocked and angry.

"I stand here, and I won't let any living creature enter."

Castorice said firmly.
