Chapter 28 - Derick's Newly Acquired Ability (Bonus Chapter)

After successfully eliminating a heavily injured Discord Titan avatar with his own avatar, the latter had to enter a dormant state for digestion due to the immense energy involved.

Now, the absorption was finally complete, and the avatar experienced another surge in power.

Taking a closer look at the avatar, its height had reached three meters. The pitch-black body, combined with the glowing red eyes and the massive scythe matching its physique, looked extraordinarily terrifying.

Physique largely determines strength; after devouring Nikador's avatar, Derick felt his own avatar's power had significantly increased.

This also indirectly proved how lucky his avatar's previous victory had been. Joining Mydei's attack and successfully scavenging the kill was arguably a great stroke of fortune for his strength enhancement.

His main body's strength and energy also received a substantial boost. Derick felt his current main body's strength had more than doubled.

If coupled with the close-combat wrestling techniques mastered from the Condemnation Gladiators, catching Cipher off guard...

Just subdue her, and he could successfully return to Okhema and reunite with Castorice.

Derick endured for a moment, pushing this tempting thought out of his mind. His strength had indeed increased, but he hadn't witnessed Cipher in action. He couldn't waste his only chance to strike.

Better to assess his other abilities.

The first ability gained was the incomplete immortality from the Discord Titan avatar. Since it wasn't the main body, the immortality was much weaker, merely increasing defense and recovery speed.

Derick already possessed 'immortality', so this function was useless to him. It just slightly reduced the difficulty when exploring with the avatar.

If the first ability gained was mediocre, the second ability excited Derick.

As Nikador's avatar, he could control nearby Discord Titan minions. Condemnation Hunters, Gladiators, Vanguards – he could control them all. As long as Nikador's main body wasn't nearby, both his avatar and main body could command them.

"This can certainly be exploited."

Derick thought to himself.

The avatar no longer needed to sneak around assassinating enemies. He could simply summon those Condemnation Gladiators, order them to commit suicide; it was easier than waiting for rabbits.

Moreover, it was also very useful for setting traps.

Unfortunately, the Discord Titan avatar's abilities were limited to these. If he could devour its main body, the techniques and energy gained would likely provide a true leap in strength.

"At that point, I could probably fight the current Phainon and Mydei head-on."

Derick thought.

And now, a sneak attack from behind might inflict some damage.

"Derick, you've been staring blankly, are you thinking about how to escape?" Cipher watched Derick holding the pie without eating, asking puzzledly.

A cat-like smile played on her lips.

"You can certainly try, see if I can find you."

"I have no intention of challenging a demigod." Derick silently ate the pie. After a few bites, he asked Cipher, "Cipher, where are we going next?"

Cipher spread her hands and said to Derick, "Relocate? I can't think of where to go either. Derick, is there anywhere you want to go? Besides Okhema, I can take you anywhere."

"Derick, how about I take you to Thanatos's place?"

"No, I absolutely don't want to go there." Derick quickly waved his hands in refusal.

"If you don't want to go so badly, why don't you cooperate with me to stop Castorice from getting the Death Titan's Core Flame?" Cipher couldn't help retorting upon hearing him. Then she asked Derick, "So where do you plan to go?"

Derick showed a thoughtful expression and said to Cipher, "Can we go to Castrum Kremnos? There are many of Nikador's minions there. I want to train my skills there. Maybe I can defeat you and return to Okhema."

At that point, as long as he wasn't in front of Nikador, it could be considered his semi-home ground.

"Oh? You're thinking about these things now? Alright, I agree." Cipher nodded, accepting Derick's request.

Then she quickly finished the pie in her hands, glanced at Derick, who had also finished his pie.

Clapping her hands, Cipher walked over to Derick, "Derick, finished eating? After eating, we'll set off."

"Can we wait a little?"

Although he had fainted and lost memory during the previous transfer, he had seen in the game how she transferred the little grey hair. Transferring immediately after eating, could that possibly feel good?

"You spoke too late." Cipher tossed a coin into the air at this moment. As the coin landed in her hand, she reached out and wrapped an arm around Derick's chest.

Derick was shorter than Cipher, so her arm landed squarely on his chest.

"Hey..."

Derick had barely spoken half a word when Cipher pushed off with both feet and sprinted forward.

Again, that feeling of being hit by a large truck and stuck to the front, carried a long distance.

When they stopped, Derick saw the walls of Castrum Kremnos around him.

"Here, this is the periphery of Castrum Kremnos. It's too dangerous inside, Derick, don't go in," Cipher told Derick.

Just then, a Condemnation Hunter appeared nearby. Cipher quickly rushed over and snatched the hunting bow from its hands.

"Derick, it's up to you."

Cipher tossed the hunting bow to Derick.

Derick picked up the bow, adjusted his strength, and shot at the Condemnation Hunter.

He couldn't reveal the partial power gained from Nikador's avatar, so he now only used the strength he possessed back in Okhema.

An arrow flew out, and the Condemnation Hunter fell to the ground.

Cipher watched from the side, saying with surprise, "Not bad, Derick. Intelligence only said your archery was good. Seeing it myself now, it really is quite strong."

"Yeah, you better watch out for when I shoot you unexpectedly."

"Go ahead."

Cipher wasn't concerned in the slightest.

Her escape skills were top-notch; even other Golden Ones would find it hard to harm her.

...

Meanwhile, in Janusopolis.

Castorice and Trianne looked at the empty space, fists clenched.

"Do you know where Cipher and the others transferred to?"

Castorice tilted her head to look at the bruised and battered Spirithief Bartholos , her eyes filled with thick killing intent.
