As night fell, the atmosphere in Carne Village transformed into a lively one. A large bonfire party was held in the open space, following the tradition of the annual harvest festival. Although sadness still lingered for the villagers killed by the disguised soldiers who had yet to be resurrected, a new hope shone in everyone's eyes, focused on Enri.
Beside the dancing flames, Enri, wearing the beautiful priest's robe given by Kael and holding a softly glowing cross-shaped magic staff, sincerely bestowed "blessings" upon each villager who came forward one by one.
Second-Tier Magic: Cure Disease!
Under the radiant magical light enveloping his body, the village chief stared at his waist with an expression of disbelief mixed with emotion. At that moment, he felt all his old ailments from years of bending over in the fields had vanished without a trace, replaced by a freshness and vitality he had long forgotten.
"This... this is truly a miracle!" he whispered in a trembling voice.
"Yes, it's incredible!" chimed in an old woman nearby with sparkling eyes.
"I heard this is the power bestowed by the Lord," a young man said in an admiring tone. "I'm truly envious of Enri for having such good fortune."
The surrounding villagers spoke in low voices, looking at Enri with eyes full of various emotions, ranging from respect to a hint of unspoken envy. Enri had grown up in the village with them. Everyone knew she had no special magical talent. Now, she had suddenly become a priestess with extraordinary healing powers. This was truly an unexpected turn of events.
Hehe. Kael, who was using invisibility magic to hide at the edge of the bustling crowd, couldn't help but smile faintly at the villagers' awed and amazed reactions.
Facts had proven that finding a powerful person to be an ally or subordinate would not have as much impact as transforming an initially ordinary person into a powerful professional with extraordinary abilities. Enri's transformation story would become a legend in this village.
Enri's "advertisement" effect was expected to last for a long time, attracting a steady stream of follower candidates for him in the future. When that time came, Kael would no longer need to go to the trouble of finding followers himself, but simply choose from those who came to him with hope and admiration.
"However, we can't ignore the great talents that already exist. We must find time to go to the Baharuth Empire in the future," Kael murmured inwardly, thinking about the potential that might be hidden there.
"By the way, there should only be a few days left before that major incident occurs. After we finish dealing with Carne Village's affairs, let's go to E-Rantel. It's a good opportunity to establish a more permanent base there," Kael thought again, planning his next steps. He then turned slowly and walked away from the crowd that was increasingly immersed in the celebration.
As a newly emerged god, he still needed to maintain an aura of mystery and majesty. Before transforming all the residents of Carne Village into his loyal followers, he would use the [Green Forest Cottage] building item to camp near the village temporarily, observing and planning his next move from behind the scenes.
Inside the simple wooden warehouse in the village...
A bizarre scene unfolded within the empty room. Two very different groups of people sat far apart. On one side, helplessly bound, were Gazef Stronoff and the brave Royal Knights. On the other side, also tied up and looking listless, were all the members of the Sunlight Scripture. The scene was almost comical if not for the serious situation.
Everyone's hands and feet were trapped by faintly glowing magic ropes, rendering them as helpless as a group of grasshoppers skewered on a bamboo stick. They were completely unable to move, only able to shift their eyes in frustration.
What's more, right above their heads, floating calmly near the dim ceiling of the wooden house, was a majestic winged holy being - the Archangel of Majesty! Its quiet yet intimidating presence added to the surreal feeling of the situation.
Nigun and the other Sunlight Scripture members didn't know what to say. They could only feel that their worldview had been shaken to its core, and this ironic scene would surely haunt their memories for a long time.
The highest-ranking angel recognized and worshiped by the fanatical Slane Theocracy was now only fit for the role of a prison warden in the hands of that mysterious magic caster, and the people it guarded were none other than the Theocracy's own priests. It was truly ironic and heartbreaking.
Of course, what they didn't know was that Kael actually preferred to use the [Saturn Heaven's Sanctification Angel] and [Saturn Heaven's Judgment Angel] summoned by tenth-tier magic, celestial beings that were far more terrifying and beyond their comprehension. He deliberately sent the Archangel of Majesty to guard them because he was worried that their shallow knowledge would not be able to understand the true majesty of a god. Otherwise, their three views of the world might have shattered even further.
By the way, this Archangel of Majesty used as a prison warden was different from the one summoned by magic. It was summoned through a rare mercenary summoning book. The main difference between the two was that the Archangel of Majesty summoned by magic had a time limit and would automatically disappear after the magic duration ended. Meanwhile, the Archangel of Majesty summoned by the Mercenary Summoning Book was a special mercenary monster that would continue to exist unless killed by an enemy, making it a very effective and persistent guard.
Across from the gloomy-looking Sunlight Scripture team, Gazef Stronoff continued to observe Nigun and his men with a sharp and analytical gaze. Quickly, he recognized their identities from their attire and the fanatical aura emanating from them.
After a long silence, digesting everything that had happened, Gazef finally couldn't help but speak, confirming his suspicions, "You... you must be members of the Slane Theocracy's special forces, the Six Colored Scriptures, right?"
Hearing Gazef's sudden voice breaking the silence, Nigun glanced at the warrior captain with a cold look and couldn't help but sneer sarcastically, "Gazef Stronoff, you really are extremely lucky to have escaped death by chance."
"Heh," Gazef retorted in a flat tone that contained a hint of mockery, "you are the famous Six Colored Scriptures, but now you've become someone else's prisoners. Your fate is truly ironic and pathetic." Although Gazef was an honest man who upheld honor, he was once a wandering warrior and had no politeness or mercy for his enemies. Therefore, he answered frankly and without mincing words.
Initially, Gazef thought Nigun would be angered and humiliated by his words, but the result was slightly beyond his expectations. Nigun's expression only showed awkwardness and discomfort for a moment, then he returned to a contemptuous and condescending look.
"We were truly unlucky to have encountered that adult. His power is beyond our comprehension. There was nothing we could do to defeat him," Nigun replied in a cold tone that contained a hint of reluctant admiration.
"That adult?" Gazef frowned, thinking for a moment, and quickly guessed who the Sunlight Scripture leader was referring to. That magic caster's mysterious power and aura were indeed not like ordinary humans.
In order to test further, Gazef continued to question Nigun in an inquisitive tone, "So, it seems you know something about that magic caster's origins?"
"Magic caster?" Nigun showed a look of disgust on his face, full of condescending sarcasm. "Gazef Stronoff, you are as foolish and short-sighted as this corrupt Re-Estize Kingdom. Your vision is so narrow and limited."
In Nigun's opinion, it would be a great insult to a being who could use seventh-tier and above magic, a power that surpassed the limits of ordinary humans, to be simply called an ordinary magic caster, a lowly human profession.
But that's true, Nigun thought inwardly. Even he and his colleagues had only witnessed a small part of the "adult's" great power after using the Theocracy's most precious secret treasure. A warrior like Gazef Stronoff, whose strength had only just touched the realm of heroes, would definitely not be able to understand the true reality.
Nigun thought cynically, feeling slightly superior to Gazef because of his deeper knowledge of their enemy's power. His mood suddenly improved slightly due to that sense of superiority.
Gazef ignored Nigun's condescending mockery, but instead pondered the hidden message behind his words. The person they called "that adult" was not only highly respected by the leader of the Slane Theocracy's Six Colored Scriptures, but he had also easily captured the entire elite team alive without much difficulty.
It seems that mysterious man is even stronger and more dangerous than I imagined, Gazef thought with a furrow in his brow.
God...? The same thought flashed through Gazef's mind again, even though he kept trying to convince himself that it was impossible. However, the seed of doubt had been planted in his heart and was beginning to take root, slowly changing his view of the world.
"By the way," Gazef said suddenly, breaking the awkward silence, "aren't you going to look for an opportunity to escape? As a powerful magic caster, you must have many tricks up your sleeve, right?" He said it in a slightly encouraging tone, perhaps hoping Nigun had an escape plan that he could also take advantage of.
Nigun's heart skipped a beat when he heard the question. A small glimmer of hope briefly appeared in his mind.
However, when he shifted his gaze towards the archangel floating calmly in the air, watching them like a vigilant warden, the thought of escaping instantly vanished.
He clearly remembered Kael's command to the Archangel of Majesty at that time: if any of them tried to escape, they would be beaten to death without mercy! Although Nigun was proud of his own strength and cunning, he knew very well that he was still far below the power of a top-tier angel that had reached the realm of the gods.
"Hmph," Nigun snorted disdainfully, trying to hide his fear. "Gazef Stronoff, your plan is too crude and naive. We won't fall for it."
"Haha, what a pity then. You've missed the best chance to escape," Gazef replied with an indifferent shrug, ending the unproductive conversation.
…
The night returned to peace after the earlier turmoil, and time passed quietly.
Perhaps because he had suffered too much in the desert world before, and finally felt peace and relaxation after coming to this fertile new world, Kael didn't wake up until around 10 am the next day.
After taking a bath and enjoying a simple breakfast, he walked out of the [Green Forest Cottage] and saw the residents of Carne Village already working hard under the warm morning sun.
Contrary to their usual leisurely lifestyle, today the entire village gathered in the center of the village with high spirits. Some adults used hoes and other agricultural tools to dig a deep pit in the village square. Several old wooden houses nearby were enthusiastically dismantled by the women, while the elderly and children helped gather the debris and used wood.
Not far away, several middle-aged but still strong men could be seen carrying long pieces of wood that looked fresh. From the condition of the wood, Kael could roughly estimate that it had just been felled or not long ago felled from the forest around the village.
Kael knew without asking that the villagers were building a simple yet sincere temple for him in the center of the village, according to his previous request. Their enthusiasm and dedication truly touched his heart.
