Chapter 10 - The Attack Begins

"Why are you doing this?" the principal asked. He was still calm and even seemed unbothered by the fact that the academy was completely surrounded by what seemed to be a superior force.

Hildr gently touched the barrier and smiled. The devilish smile stole the hearts of many students.

"We already sent you a message with our intentions very clear. We want the Crown of the Endless. You refused to hand it over, and that is why we are here."

The students all looked at each other with confusion. They had never heard of this crown. They studied about many powerful treasures that shaped Lemuria, but there was no mention of this crown.

"I sent your father a message and clearly told him that we do not have the crown. What else could he want from this simple school?"

The Principal did not show any change in expression. Hildr looked away from the old man as she moved her hand over the barrier.

The thing held great power, and it was indeed true that even she could not break it so casually.

Still, she was not willing to turn back.

"I will give you one more chance—hand over the crown, and I will let this academy continue standing."

Adrian was standing far from the barrier, but he was a Strigoi. He could clearly see through the darkness and the long distance. He could even hear everything that the principal and Hildr were talking about. Adrian had heard about Hildr, and in fact, there was an entire topic about her in their textbooks.

Hildr looked young, but she was in fact born thousands of years ago. She was born even before the pyramids were built. She had not lived all this time since she had been sealed when she was only twenty years old.

Adrian fell into deep thought as he tried to remember anything about the Cursed Princess Hildr and the Crown of the Endless.

At this moment, Hildr became more serious. She removed her hand from the barrier and looked directly at the principal.

"I know that you are powerful. Your tales are legendary, and even I have read them—but are you sure that you are powerful enough to face me?"

The principal did not answer this question. He just looked over the hill behind him, and at that moment, over five hundred people marched over. The earth shook with each step they took. These people wore a black uniform that made them look like fashionable killers.

These were the Guardians.

They were marching slowly, but after just a few steps, they arrived behind the principal.

They had somehow defied the laws of space.

The principal looked at Hildr. This was his answer to her question.

The Guardians greatly outnumbered the Draugr force that Hildr had brought over.

If the two sides were to clash, the winning side was already clear.

Hildr frowned slightly.

She then smiled sweetly.

She turned around and looked at her soldiers.

"After killing the Guardians, massacre everything within the barrier. From lions to rats, kill everything," she said in a casual manner that made all those who heard her words shiver from imagining the rivers of blood that would flow.

"There is no way for you to get through the barrier. Unless you are willing to Fade right here, you will stay on that side of the barrier," said the principal.

He knew that Hildr was powerful, but even she was not powerful enough to break this barrier.

"I am tired of hearing about this barrier," said Hildr. She then flew into the sky like a bat out of hell.

She stopped a few feet in the sky and brought her palm down on the barrier. Before anyone could react, the palm slammed into the barrier, and everything went silent.

It was nighttime, but the heavens darkened even more.

The earth trembled, and the frozen lake shattered into shards of ice that flew everywhere. The principal felt as though the barrier had been struck by a mountain that had come crashing from deep space.

Hildr had used only her physical power to achieve this.

"Draugr have the most physical strength among the Children of the Night. Their bodies can be as heavy as mountains. Draugr have the ability to control how heavy or light they are. As long as a Draugr has enough Soul, they can make themselves as heavy as they please."

Adrian explained to the confused Amelia.

Before anyone could think about the situation further, Hildr increased her weight to an even more unbelievable level. When her hand came down this time, even space trembled.

Booooom—the barrier shattered completely. Shards of this barrier fell down on the island. The Draugr did not wait for orders from Hildr since she had already told them what to do. These soldiers rushed onto the island, and just as they were about to clash with the Guardians, these Draugr fled into different directions.

This was what Hildr had ordered them to do once the barrier broke.

Due to a few reasons, she could not bring more soldiers, and her father could not join them.

With so few soldiers, she had already known that a direct confrontation with the Guardians would lead to her loss.

The Draugr could become as light as feathers, and this gave them the ability to fly. They spread all over the island and began killing the students.

This was what they had been ordered to do. They ignored the powerful and killed the weak. This was a despicable move, but Hildr knew that it would be effective since the principal was fond of preaching righteousness. He would not sit back and watch as his students were killed.

After the barrier broke, the principal had flown into the sky to fight against Hildr, but when he saw the carnage and ruthlessness of the Draugr, he shuddered before coming to a stop.

"What are you doing?" he cried out.

Hildr did not give him an answer. She greatly increased her weight and fell to the ground.

Boooom—a wave of power spread out in the surroundings, blowing everything away.

The Guardians that had been near where she landed were all turned to blood mist.

She then looked up at the principal, who was about to lose it.

"Just give me the Crown of the Endless, and I will leave this place at once," she said.

Her intent was very clear. She would not fight him, but she would instead attack and kill the people on the principal's side.

Even Hildr was not crazy enough to fight a Hero of Legend head-on.
