"Let's start with the fact that the system is supposed to help you, not hinder you, if I don't have knowledge about the world, I will help you through the system by generating appropriate tasks that will help you develop for the next 100 days. From what the village chief said, doing his tasks can also be helpful." – the raven continued his monologue.
At that moment, another screen appeared in front of Jason.
"New tasks have been assigned:
Kill 5 creatures of Primitive rank. – Reward, new level Gather the resources needed to prepare 1 healing potion (Mist Flower, Grey Fuzzball). – reward, new level Gather the resources needed to prepare 1 mana regeneration potion (Green Toadstool, Silver Lichen). – reward, new level
"You see, three levels will not be a problem, the system expects you to achieve much more during the time that has been given to you it"
"And you can't tell me, of course, why it expects me to do that?" asked Jason.
"Of course not," the summon confirmed in a joking tone. "But I'm going to help you as diligently as I can. Also remember that you can't focus only on improving my summoning skill, knowledge won't do you any good if you're not strong enough to do anything with it."
"I understand, I have to think about all this. Ok, completing quests, leveling up for the next 100 days, and then? I'll be left alone, and I still won't know why I'm here?"
"Believe me, when the time comes, you will immediately understand why you are here. However, it will not be in 100 days. This time it is just the beginning of your journey, and it will only get bumpier after that. Also remember that when the system disappears, I will not disappear. I will continue to accompany you and help you in your struggle with this world – you know, at the highest level of development, I am very useful and extremely intelligent" – the raven winked at Jason.
"Before I go to meet Firlo, I have a few more questions for you, I have to sort it all out in my head."
"That's why I'm here, feel free to ask."
"One of the sentences says about creatures of primitive rank, what is it about?"
"it must be some kind of local classification, I don't have any knowledge about it, I hope that this little boy Firlo can answer it or at least he will know who to ask."
"Hmmm, I was expecting a more specific answer"
"Remember that I am only a part of the system, I myself have no knowledge of this world, the system has it, but it is not available to me. I'm just here to explain to you the basics of your summoner class, not the intricacies of this world. You have to discover the latter on your own"
"I got it, so you're helpful, but not really..." – Jason fumed. Okay, let's make the most of the next hundred days as well as we can."
"I like your determined spirit, I didn't sense it in you the first time you called me."
"After I first summoned you, there were a couple of things that woke that determination – Lucas' disappearing being one of them. I have a few more questions, what happens to the summons which dies in battle? I noticed that they disappeared, but then I can summon them again, how does that happen?"
"This is a basic question that fortunately I can easily answer. As I mentioned before, each summon is a part of your soul that materializes in our form outside your body, when such a summon dies, its energy returns to your soul to heal itself. As soon as this happens, you can summon it again. As you become more experienced, you will be able to enter your soul and check the state of your summons, unfortunately this is not possible now."
"So when my mana is restores, can I summon that familiar back?"
"Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that, mana is just the energy of your soul, it's not us, the summons, it's only needed for us to materialize in this world. Each of us is a separate part of your soul and our regeneration has nothing to do with mana regeneration. I don't know how much this answers your question?" – the guard tried to explain exhaustively.
"I think I understand, although it's quite complicated. So if all my pets die in battle, I'm on my own for a while?"
"Unfortunately, but it's good that you know this from the very beginning, summoner, so focusing only on your summons can give you a false sense of security, remember to develop your skills as well." – The Raven seemed very patient and gave comprehensive answers – as long as he knew them or the system allowed him to answer them.
"Thanks to this, I feel a little more confident with this knowledge, at least I am aware of what I have to prepare for. Let's meet Firlo." – Jason ended the conversation, going towards the door.
"Don't you have any more questions?"
"Ohhh, I have plenty, but I prefer to learn gradually," Jason replied. The knowledge he learned after appearing in this world was enormous, he did not want to miss important things that were lost somewhere in the monologues conveyed by his raven.
"Smart." Jason's feathered companion finished and then jumped on his shoulder.
Jason came out of his little hut, which became his new home, you could see the look of determination on his face, at this moment he decided that he would use the next hundred days to get to know well who he had become, and then he would continue his journey and try to find his friend.
Jason began to head towards what he thought was the center of the village, where he had arranged to meet Firlo. The village was not large, so the risk of getting lost was also rather small.
After just a few minutes, Jason reached a small square located in the middle of the village. Since the palisade was high, and every part of it was the same distance from the square, Jason deduced that it was located in the center.
The small market square was surrounded by several craftsmen's workshops – at least that's what it seemed to Jason, judging by the things that were in front of the huts: Various types of weapons, shields, everyday objects, leather, herbs and other interesting things from Jason's perspective. On one side of the square there was a very large building. Even bigger than Enzo's house, judging by the tables and barrels outside, Jason thought it must be a local inn.
In the middle of the square, sitting on a small platform resembling a wooden stage, Firlo sat and waited for his recent savior.
