Chapter 16 - Melisandre

(Dear readers, this chapter might feel slow paced because of the info dumb but don't worry, from the next chapter, a small arc filled with action begins. I will upload the next chapter after 1-2 hours.)

Gregory was in utter shock as the princess's gaze lingered on him.

"What do you mean by divine ability?"

She smiled and shrugged. "Come on, I know that you used a divine skill. Don't lie to me."

Gregory frowned and asked her in a serious tone,

"How do you know?"

She glanced at him for a few seconds and looked away.

"Well, I have an ability that lets me see the information about someone's power. You have a similar skill, too, right? Try it on me"

Gregory stared at the girl for a few minutes and whispered to himself.

'All-Seeing Eye'

[Name = Melisandre Drakyre]

[Class = Red Dragon]

[Rank = special]

[Class = Novice]

[Skills = Fire Breathing[Special], Flight[Rare], Dragon Transformation[Unique], Dragon Blood[Legendary], Dragon claws[Unique], Dragon Roar[Special], Dragon skin[Special, Dragon Wrath[Special]]]

[Abilities=Commander[Special], King's Charisma[Unique], Genius[Rare], Dancing steps[Common], Deal Maker[Uncommon], All languages[Special], Lover's kiss[Unique], Dragon Eyes[Divine]]

When Gregory saw the Dragon's wrath skill his anger started to rise. With surprised eyes, he looked at the information.

'Her class is red dragon?... and that damned skill...…... Good thing it's only in special rank.' Gregory squinted and focused on the skill.

'It should be the same skill, right?'

Suddenly, another blue panel popped up and on it was the description of the skill that had killed him twice in the game.

[Dragon's Roar = This skill can deactivate the enemy's and the user's abilities, skills and mana flow. The skill and the abilities have to be of the same rank of this skill or lower for the effect to work. You can mark any number of enemies with this skill as long as you see them with your bare eyes. This skill stays activated until the user deactivates it, but to maintain the effect, you have to have enough mana. The user's life force is also consumed when activating this skill.[Nigh] ]

He became furious as he read the description. 'These filthy dragons and this cursed spell. Once they use it, I can't do anything at all. Even if my physical powers are strong, they aren't as strong as a dragon's."

After a moment of cursing the dragon race, he composed himself and focused on the skill he came here to see.

[Dragon Eyes [Divine] = The user can see the status panel of anyone.]

Gregory never thought such simple words could ever bring him to the brink of fear. He glanced at the girl and asked in a careful tone.

"What are you playing at? Princess Melisandre."

She smirked as she heard the long name.

"Just Mel is enough."

She then stared directly into Gregory's eyes.

'Should I go through with this? What if he kills me on the spot, I don't even have any cards on my side... I don't care, no matter what, I will get him to work for me... I came here knowing that I could die.'

"Why are you lying, Lord Jal Atar Kaliel?"

Gregory was surprised, but he didn't let her see that.

"What do you mean?"

She scoffed and continued staring into his eyes. When she spoke, all previous friendliness vanished from her voice.

"You are a big liar Lord Jal Atar Kaliel. What irritates me is the fact that you are lying so obviously."

Gregory shrugged as he got annoyed.

"Can you just stop beating around the bush and just say it?"

Mel shrugged and looked away.

"First of all, you lied about not knowing anything about the kingdom's and the empire's territory when you have such a detailed map of the entirety of the two regions."

She then glanced at the holographic map on the table.

"I have one of these maps as well. On my map, the landmarks don't miraculously appear. They appear only after I travel to those locations."

Gregory was stunned.

She has a map like this. This map is from the game.'

Every normal person receives this map as a beginner, and the landmarks only appear when they travel there themselves. Last summer, Gregory upgraded his player account to a premium one, and the premium account's map shows everything, even if the player doesn't travel there.

Gregory frowned as his gaze darkened.

'Is she a player as well? ....No, she doesn't know enough about the system, and if she were in the game, the moment she saw the map, she would have asked me if I am from Earth?'

Gregory glanced at the girl to find her staring at him. Without showing his surprise he said in an even one.

"Please continue."

She stared at his eyes for a few moments, trying to figure out what caused him to be silent. After a moment she continued.

"Why did you ask me about the territory when you knew everything about it and w two weak people that is with you? Ho do you even have a map that is similar to mine?"

Gregory shrugged.

"Look, I didn't know. This map is higher version of the one you have. This one can mark places even without me travelling there. But the thing is we only get a rough description about the places."

While he was saying that she stared at him trying to discern whether he was saying thee truth or not.

"Okay, who gave the map to you?"

Gregory frowned.

"What do you mean? I already had the system with me."

As soon as she heard that, her eyes widened. With a suppressed breath, she asked.

"You had it? Like from birth?"

Gregory looked at her and shrugged.

"Yeah, Kind of."

After hearing the answer, she was even more surprised. After lowering her head she started to mumble to herself.

"But that is impossible, you couldn't have it from the broth. There is no way, unless…"

Then she stared at Gregory as relalisation hit her. She didn't even say anything and continued staring at him.

Gregory started to become uncomfortable under her gaze. He lingered for a moment and asked her in the hope of distracting her.

"Unless What?"

Her gaze didn't waver. With continued intensity, she said in an even tone.

"Unless...You are from another world."
