The knight closed his eyes to face his death. A couple of seconds passed, but nothing happened; the lingering silence stayed that way until a clanging sound was heard.
He slowly opened his eyes to look at the man who was looming above him like death. Ho we, ver he was very different compared to before.
He looked even more pale than before. The knife that was in his hand had fallen to the ground. His hands lifelessly hang on their own as his lifeless eyes reflect the sunlight.
The knight squinted at the bizarre scene in front of him. The guy was clearly dead, but no matter how hard he searched in the body, there was no visible wound.
Suddenly his gaze landed on a black figure behind the man. When he squinted his eyes, a chilling shiver ran throughout his body.
The man in front of him was the palest he had ever seen. He wore no clothes on his upper body. Only a black pant in strange material covered his lower body.
What made him more inhuman wasn't his clothes or swkin, it was his crimson eyes. It looked like two blood balls that radiated a dim crimson gloww.
The humanoid monster glanced at him and smiled.
Gregory waited until his spell ended since Srah told him to do that.
Apparentely this regale looking girl that was getting assassinated is the princess of the rmpire. What is a better way to get easy entry to the empire than helping out its own princess?
Surprisingly, Larcel didn't like the idea of going to the Empire. Ins read she suggested for the three of them to go north, where elves live. Thishobviously; didn't happen sinceSarahhsaidd otherwise.
She wanted him to charge right in and kill the 5 guys by themselves, but he wasn't an idiot to do that. He hid in the bush and examined the fighting styles of both sides. Also, he used the all-seeing eye to search for their rank and level. After analysing the clash for a few minutes,, he engaged by using one of his divineskillsls, frozen time.
Gregory glanced at the silver knight and smiled a little. Then he pulled his hand out from the hearltless chest of the assassin. His hand were covered with blood and pieces of smashed flesh.
As soon as he pulled the hand away, the corpse swayed a little and fell to the side without hitting the knight. Knight looked at him with suspicious eyes but failed to move, never a finger.
'It seems lkike he is still paralysed. Since he can't move his muscle he can't speak either.'
In the periphery of his eyes, he could see the two girls who were about to abandon the knight returning. He looked at the two heartless women and looked back at the injured knight who was slowly dying.
He outstretched a hand toward him and said in an even voice.
"blessing of the saintess."
Like before the body of the guy started to envelop in a blinding light. After a few seconds, the radiance disappeared, and with I,t all, the poison disappeared, too.
Knight turned his head and looked at his body for a second and then he gripped his hand a little. With surprise in his face, he took the greatsword that was lying in the road and used it as support to get up.
After standing up, he took a look at his body again and then looked at Gregory.
"Thank you, your friend. Not only did you save me, you even helped me. I will be forever in your doubt, and I am not someone who leaves his debt unpaid."
He looked at the two approaching and the two father and daughter coming from behind.
"It was my pleasure. I won't turn a blind eye to a person who is hurt."
He looked at Gregory again, his eyes shining brightly with admiration.
"Yes, Exactly. I am glad to meet someone like-minded here."
When he said the two girls were already behind him. The rick-looking girl came forward and bowed to the two of them while saying.
"Thank you for saving us. We are forever gra-"
Suddenly, the one-eyed girl beside her raised her voice while trying to grab her.
"Princess No, You are a royal family member. You shouldn't bow to anyone."
But the princes didn't care. She pushed the girl away and bowed again.
"We are forever grateful for both of your help."
Gregory tried to speak first, but the white knight spoke again.
"Don't worry about that lady. My Buddy and I here are people with good hearts. We won't leave a woman in danger even if we die."
Gregory looked at his new friend with irritation.
'I am not your buddy, and I would have totally left these two ungrateful bithced if it wasn't for Sarah.'
He took a deep breath and bowed a little toward the princess.
"It was our pleasure, your highness."
As soon as he said that, his new friend looked at him with confusion.
"Why'd you call her, Your Highness?"
Gregory briefly looked at him.
'Is this guy an idiot or something?'
He opened his mouth to answer, but like before,e, he got interrupted. Sarah and larcel came from behing and sarah answered the k night in a casual tone.
"Because this woman right in front of you is the princess of the Drakyr empire."
The knight's gaze darkned and silence followed.
The princess looked at Sarah and the parcel. "And who might you two be?"
Gregory raised his hand and said in a neutral tone. "Umm, they are with me."
Princess glanced at him and looked at Sarah again.
"Well, it's nice to meet you as well, but now is not the time to chat with each other."
She looked around with a tense expression and said, after turning toward Gregory again.
"We should get out of her, or the rest of those assassins will come as well."
After saying that, she looked at the unusually quiet silver knight again.
"Is everything alright?"
The knight raised his head and looked at the girl. Then he scratched the back of his head with a sheepish smile.
"Ummmm, what is a drakyr empire?"
