Godslayers are Kings. Godslayers are Overlords. Godslayers are Demon Lords.

Countless mages and knights have witnessed the truth of this statement with their lives. Those who slay Heretic Gods, those who achieve a miracle among miracles, naturally possess the qualification to be engraved in history.

All Godslayers can not only ignore the damage of magical power, not only possess incomparably formidable physiques, but also wield magical power that can crush all mages. Their most important, most fundamental asset is the sharp sword called 'Authority,' usurped from the hands of those Heretic Gods.

Therefore, those who have access to these secrets are incomparably fearful of Godslayers, fearful of these Demon Lords on earth. However, in this world, there are always some special existences. For them, the existence of a King is merely a bit of trouble.

"Well then, has the existence of the seventh King been confirmed?"

It was a young girl with glass-like pupils, dressed in an extremely gorgeous twelve-layered ceremonial kimono. Her face was devoid of any emotion. That utterly indifferent expression made it seem as if she wasn't discussing the most fearsome being in the world, but rather casually discussing today's lunch.

"Ah, probably a King from Europe, right? This old man isn't too sure either."

Speaking was an old man dressed in black, somewhat messy and worn-out black monk robes. His emaciated appearance, as if he could be blown over by a gust of wind – no one would imagine this was a fellow capable of battling Heretic Gods.

"I originally thought the next King would be that child. The human world is truly full of surprises." This was the Heretic God named 'Susanoo-no-Mikoto.' From his descent until now, this Heretic God, this being who was a Hero God of Steel, had been sufficiently weak. Actively avoiding all battles, he had even secluded himself in the Netherworld (Kakuriyo). Whatever his reasons, this conduct, which betrayed his identity as a Heretic God, undoubtedly revealed his true nature.

"Be careful with your words, be careful. Isn't it more interesting to look forward to what happens next?" The ascetic monk in black, known as the High Priest (Sōjō), said this. But the cunning smile on his face, full of worldly wisdom and wrinkles, also invisibly confirmed that this fellow indeed harbored ill intentions.

"Then let it be as the High Priest says. We shall thoroughly observe this coming chaotic era!" Susanoo pulled open the wine gourd beside him and took a large swig, yet showed no sign of being tempted by the extremely mellow wine.

England.

The Greenwich Council of Idle Men.

Ahem, Council of Sages (Kenjin Gikai).

This place, where countless idle men gathered, was today also engaged in an incredibly boring discussion. It was a discussion about the Black Prince Alec. Regarding this nemesis, the mages of this Council of Sages were having an immense headache. After all, the other party was a King, a King who scorned everything. Making an enemy of him was, by any measure, unwise and irrational. However, for various reasons, it was also unavoidable.

"Everyone, some not-so-good news has arrived."

The young girl seated at the head of the round table in this council hall, an incredibly ethereal young girl, lightly tapped her jade-like, slender hands. She possessed an aura like perfume; merely a glance was unforgettable. Whether it was her absolutely top-tier sense of dress or her shining golden hair, everything constantly proclaimed this young girl's presence.

Alice Louise of Nafal. This was the girl's name, currently the former chairwoman of the Council of Sages, now a special advisor.

Don't be deceived by her extremely alluring appearance. This girl was accompanied by deception and cunning. Never revealing her true self before anyone, although partly due to her own physical fragility, it couldn't hide how incredibly adept this woman was at deception.

"Just now, the seventh King has appeared!" she announced, her voice resonating. And as if fearing those present hadn't heard clearly, she repeated it once more.

"How is that possible! The seventh King! Who exactly is it that has slain a Heretic God!?" An old man with a full white beard stood up abruptly, his aged, weathered face filled with extreme disbelief.

"There have been no signs of any gods appearing recently!" he said, his eyes full of horror and confusion. After all, the tradition was for Godslayers to summon Heretic Gods and then battle them; there was never a case of mortals intentionally summoning Heretic Gods for the purpose of god-slaying.

"No, the situation is far more serious than you imagine." Alice said this, her slender finger lightly covering her pale pink, alluring lips.

"That King, it seems, did not slay the god by relying on a miracle." As the woman said this, a trace of horror also appeared on her face.

"He... he defeated that Heretic God by relying on absolute power!"

This sentence brought about a commotion in the council hall.

"How is that possible! How can a mortal be a match for a Heretic God!?" The old man who had just stood up slammed the table and rose again, his white beard fluttering with his anger.

"No, this is the truth. Although incredibly absurd, it is the truth. This information came from our informant in Italy; it should be believable!" Alice gently placed the piece of paper she had just received, still smelling of fresh ink, in front of her. Her tone was filled with weariness. For such an existence, such a King, to appear so tracelessly – this was no small blow to them.

"That King's title is 'Gilgamesh,' the same name as the 'King of Heroes' from the Sumerian period. No, it's likely they are one and the same person." Alice smoothed her magnificent golden hair, which had become slightly disheveled from her previous movements. However, no matter how frivolous her actions, the gravity in her tone could not be concealed.

"If I'm not mistaken, someone must have awakened this 'Oldest King' from his mausoleum. Whether it was a spiritual descent as a substitute or a direct resurrection, in any case, this King of Heroes has now appeared upon this land." As she said this, a hint of sadness appeared in her eyes.

The existence of a King, no matter how inadvertent, would harm those innocent mortals. The countless tragedies that had replayed themselves had long proven this.

Well then, O King, have you ever pitied the world?
