The power of a Godslayer is built upon many foundations, the most important of which is the Authority they have stolen, belonging to a Heretic God.

The strength or weakness of an Authority is not clearly defined, but no matter what kind of Authority it is, it is beyond the realm that humans can touch. Some Authorities merely increase the yield of farmland, while others can resurrect the dead. Some can even slaughter an entire city at will, cause the earth to shatter, summon wind and rain, make stars fall, or even regress all of human civilization back to prehistoric times.

"Well then, is this this King's Authority? As expected, what was seized from that mongrel is not some treasure worth cherishing."

This was an extremely luxurious palace, built within a mere few days through the power of magic. But the short time of its construction did not mean it wasn't luxurious. Its decorations and collections could be said to have exhausted the full efforts of the entire Bronze Black Cross. This great magical society, for the sake of this palace that rose from the ground, could be said to have become somewhat withered as a whole.

However, it was worth it. No matter what, currying favor with this King was incredibly worthwhile. That was a King, one of only seven existing in the world, an existence capable of easily killing anything except Heretic Gods and other Kings. No amount of respect could better express their deference to this King. The Bronze Black Cross, to host this King, could be said to have exhausted all their efforts and resources.

But, even so, they had not received even a single word of praise from this arrogant King.

Upon the throne, cast from gold, paved with gemstones, and inlaid with the pelts of the highest-ranking demonic beasts, sat that incomparably arrogant figure. Sitting lightly upon the throne, his eyes were even half-closed. The slight upward curve of his lips, or the contempt that occasionally flashed through his half-closed, crimson serpentine pupils, all constantly proclaimed to this world the pride of this King, the arrogance of this 'Oldest King.'

"So that's it. It's actually such a crude function?" the King said with such disdain, as if the Authority that countless people envied beyond measure was some lowly object picked up from the roadside, to be casually discarded.

"To transform people into 'Heroic Spirits' and then enhance their strength by leveraging their influence?" Gilgamesh said this, then commanded in a tone that was deep and magnetic, yet carried unparalleled majesty:

"Liliana?"

Hearing the questioning tone, the young girl standing in attendance at the side, who had been suppressing her joy, hurriedly half-knelt in salute.

"Yes, my King! What is your command!" Her tone was extremely firm and forceful, the resolute meaning contained within it inspiring a sense of awe in others.

Looking at this girl, a trace of an arrogant smile also appeared on Gilgamesh's face. Presumably, Liliana, as a knight, hasn't had a good rest in a long time either. Immersed in her lord's achievements, she must be overjoyed at every moment that Gilgamesh has become a Godslayer. Indeed, for a knight, this was not just loyalty; even calling it blind devotion wouldn't be an overstatement. However...

Gilgamesh lightly raised his hand, which was covered in a thick layer of golden armor. The golden-cast armor, in this slightly overly bright hall, appeared even more dazzling, even more shocking.

"Well then, come forward, Dame Liliana." Gilgamesh issued the command in an unquestionable tone, his handsome face carrying an extremely serious expression.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" However, even such a serious expression and incomparably majestic words could not stop the terrible thoughts of Liliana, this young maiden in the bloom of youth who had read and written too many risqué novels. 'Is my lord going to make a move on me again? Should I play hard to get, or should I be more proactive?' she thought terribly.

The young girl walked towards the throne with incredibly precise steps. Of course, if one ignored her slightly clenched thighs, these steps would naturally be even more standard.

However, this time, Gilgamesh naturally had no ill intentions towards this knight who was so close to him, close enough to have had negative distance.

"Well then, swear allegiance to this King once more, Dame Liliana!"

Hearing Gilgamesh's words, a trace of disappointment couldn't help but surge from Liliana's heart, but it was quickly concealed by the knightly code she had followed for years. Like a model knight, the girl knelt on one knee, one hand lightly resting on her sword hilt, the other placed over her heart.

"Yes! I hereby pledge my allegiance to you, to the King of Heroes among heroes, Lord Gilgamesh! I shall uphold the principles of a knight, stand by your side, become the sharp sword in your hand, and clear all obstacles for you!" The girl performed the ceremony with utmost precision. Gilgamesh, appreciating all this, couldn't help but lightly quirk his lips. It had to be said, this girl's meticulousness in this regard was truly incredibly endearing.

Watching this girl offer her loyalty without reservation, Gilgamesh also raised his hand and gently touched the girl's shoulder.

"Well then, this King grants you the qualification to follow this King, to keep pace with this King, and the honor of becoming an accompaniment and witness to this King's epic!" The King spoke thus, then slowly invoked the Authority that had long been ready within him.

Specks of azure light slowly rose from within Liliana's body. From this moment on, she was no longer human, but a Heroic Spirit who coexisted with legend, feeding on history! Heroic Spirits, engraved in history and legend, would endlessly increase their strength as their legends grew. If one could truly unify Europe, then even an ordinary person could gain incomparably formidable power. If one could extend their rule over the entire world, they could even far surpass a Godslayer. Of course, this was merely hypothetical; no one in this world filled with Godslayers could accumulate so many legends.

As the myriad blue points of light gradually faded, Liliana also slowly opened her sky-like, clear, pale blue eyes.

"This... what is this?" She sensed the change within herself and couldn't help but ask, even neglecting her usual respectful address.

However, Gilgamesh was not so petty. He ignored the disrespect in Liliana's tone and answered gravely, "This is the power bestowed upon you, a reward to commend your loyalty. Well then, bloom for this King, Heroic Spirit Liliana!"
