The investigator returned within the hour, face tight with concern.
"We've picked up movement. A name came up—Kang Dae-Hyun."
Hana flinched.
Mi-Ho turned sharply. "You know him?"
Her silence said enough. The name was a wound that hadn't fully closed.
"He was my father's junior partner. Smiled at every dinner table… while plotting behind our backs. He disappeared after my father died."
"And now he's back," Mi-Ho muttered, his jaw tight.
"He's the one who bought me, Mi-Ho."
Silence. Ice-cold, shattering silence.
Mi-Ho stood abruptly. "Then we find him. And we end this."
But Hana grabbed his arm, eyes wide. "No more violence. I want justice. Not revenge."
Mi-Ho stared at her. Strong, trembling, but unbroken.
"Then we do it your way," he said.
