Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Hadō Thirty-Three: Blue Fire Falling

"Kamui—Hollow!"

As the words left Nanaya's lips, he felt his body shift.

He was still in this world—yet not.

It was as if his very being had slipped into another dimension. Reality seemed to tug at him, like it was trying to reject him.

"Shua!"

Yoruichi's kick came flying.

It should've connected. It should have crushed him.

But the moment her foot touched his face, her expression changed drastically.

"What... is this sensation!?"

She wasn't wearing shoes—barefoot strikes offered direct contact. And yet...

She felt nothing.

No resistance. No impact. No heat.

It was as if she'd kicked through him—like slicing the air with her foot.

Her whole body passed straight through Nanaya as if he were a ghost.

"What kind of ability is this!?"

Before she could recover, Nanaya's right hand reached out and gently pulled off her hair tie.

In a cascade of light, her long purple hair scattered and fell around her shoulders, gleaming like silk in the dim space.

Her figure was agile. Her beauty, stunning.

But Nanaya didn't even glance. He simply stared at his hand, blinking in disbelief.

He hadn't even realized he had released the Hollow state.

"So it's become instinctual?"

With just a thought, he could now shift into the Hollow state or cancel it on command.

"Hey, brat—what the hell is that technique!?"

Yoruichi glared at him, grinding her teeth. Her long hair swayed freely over her shoulders.

She was furious.

She had dragged him down here to teach him a lesson—and instead of a beatdown, he took her hair tie!

"This wasn't part of our deal!"

Nanaya snapped out of it and smiled, twirling the hair tie in his fingers.

"But I won. And as we agreed... now you have to teach me Kidō."

"Crack... crack..."

Yoruichi ground her teeth even harder. Her fists clenched. She wanted to beat him senseless.

But... she was still a noble of Soul Society. She had to keep some dignity.

After a long sigh, she turned around with a flick of her hand.

"Fine. Watch closely!"

She pointed her right hand at a nearby boulder.

"Hadō #1: Sho!"

An invisible burst of force shot from her fingertip, slamming into the rock. A clean fingerprint was left behind.

"Wait! Slow down!"

Nanaya rushed over in a panic.

Yoruichi's lips curled into a smirk. She didn't stop.

"Hadō #4: Byakurai!"

A blinding white bolt of lightning shot from her finger, piercing through the rock like a laser beam.

"Swish!"

The stone cracked in half.

Nanaya stood there, looking heartbroken."Ms. Yoruichi, come on! You're not even chanting... how am I supposed to learn like this!?"

"Hadō #5—"

She completely ignored him and kept going.

One Kidō after another. Rapid-fire. No pauses. No chanting. No mercy.

"She's doing this on purpose!" Nanaya groaned.

Yoruichi was thrilled.

Sure, she said she'd teach him Kidō—but she never said she'd teach him slowly.

High-speed. Non-chanting. Nonstop.

There was no way anyone could learn like this.

"Hadō #33: Sōkatsui!"

Blue flames erupted across the chamber. The air rippled with heat.

In just a few minutes, she had already demonstrated spells up to level 33.

She didn't stop there—seamlessly switching to Bakudō and even healing spells.

After a full ten minutes of blazing displays, she spun on her heel and grinned at him proudly.

"So? Learned anything, kid?"

Nanaya just stared at her.

"Learned!? I couldn't even see half of that!"

"Tsk. Not my problem." Yoruichi shrugged. "Per our deal, I taught you up to Kidō #36."

Then she gave him a devilish smile.

"Want a rematch? If you win again, maybe I'll slow it down next time."

Nanaya slumped, defeated.

"Forget it... I'll train on my own. Maybe I'll actually manage to learn something."

"Pfft—ha!"

Yoruichi burst out laughing. She turned and walked off, stretching lazily.

"Alright then—good luck! I'll go put on some shoes."

She left the basement in high spirits.

Strangely, seeing Nanaya so frustrated made her happier than actually beating him up.

Meanwhile, Nanaya's eyes were practically glowing.

"Non-chanting Kidō... perfect!"

If Yoruichi hadn't been nearby, he probably would've jumped for joy.

Whether Kidō was chanted or not, Sharingan could copy it all the same.

But the advantage of non-chanting Kidō was immense in real combat.

He raised his hand, spiritual power flowing through his arm.

"Let's test this... Hadō #33: Sōkatsui!"

He skipped the basic spells—went straight for the deep end.

Blue fire gathered in the air above him, swirling into a comet-like mass.

"BOOM!!!"

The underground shook as blue flames exploded across the chamber.

A silence followed.

Then—

"...Yoruichi, what the hell was that noise!?"

In the Urahara Shop, the scent of tea and dust mixed in the warm air as Urahara Kisuke cheerfully asked,"So, did you give that kid a good beating?"

Shihouin Yoruichi, who had been in a good mood, froze mid-step. Her expression darkened in an instant.

"Are you looking to get beat up?" she shot back, face twitching with frustration.

Urahara blinked. Then widened his eyes in exaggerated shock."No way… don't tell me you actually lost?"

Yoruichi ground her teeth."He stole my hairband," she said, her voice low and dangerous.

That's when Urahara noticed it—her iconic purple hair was loose, cascading freely over her shoulders.

"Seriously? Miss Flash Goddess Yoruichi?"Tessai pushed his glasses up, his tone stunned.

Tsumugaya Ururu and Hanakari Jinta were frozen with their mouths open.

Everyone who worked at the shop knew who Yoruichi was—not just a noble, not just a former Onmitsukidō Commander, but a captain-level Shinigami. Losing to a human was unthinkable.

"That kid's ability is ridiculous," Yoruichi muttered darkly."His body disappeared mid-fight. I kicked straight through him. And while I was off balance, poof—he took my hairband."

Gasps all around. Even Urahara looked genuinely thoughtful now.

A human, affected by the Hōgyoku, managing to fool and outmaneuver Shihouin Yoruichi?

"…He's evolving too fast," Tessai said grimly."In less than half a month…"

"If this continues, he'll be able to fight on par with a captain soon," Jinta muttered.

No one argued.

A short while later, Yoruichi returned to the underground training hall. As she stepped in, her sharp eyes scanned the wreckage left behind.

"…Did my Kidō really have this much destructive power?" she muttered.

The area looked larger, more ruined than before. The ceiling had a massive scorch mark, and a boulder was split in two like a piece of cake.

It made her frown.

Something was off.

Before she could investigate, a teasing voice cut in:

"Back already? Want to go for another round?"Nanaya stood there, arms crossed, smiling smugly.

His confidence only made her more eager.

"Of course." Yoruichi's lips curled in a grin.

"Same rules?" Nanaya asked, stepping forward.

"Same as before."Her eyes gleamed."Grab any part of me—you win."

"You're on."

On the far side of the room, Urahara, Tessai, Jinta, and Ururu arrived to watch the rematch.

"Did he cause all this damage?" Tessai whispered, peering at the ruins.

"That was Sōkatsui, wasn't it?" Urahara said, sounding half in disbelief."He's already casting Hadō #33. Non-chanting. That's... absurd."

Ururu blinked slowly."Is he really... just human?"

"That's the scary part," Jinta muttered, watching as Nanaya and Yoruichi squared off again.

Both combatants fell into silence.

A quiet tension thickened the air—then snapped.

"Begin!"
