Chapter 4 - The bar

After traversing the winding path for what felt like an eternity, Jin finally reached his destination, that being the town named "Godless Town."

Jin knew it from the memories that were injected into his brain, but he had no idea why anyone would name a town "Godless Town."

The name in itself was bizarre. Jin was pondering the meaning of the city's name while walking down the path.

After walking for a bit more, he reached his destination. Then he entered the town.

The town did not align with his expectations. He anticipated a developed area but instead encountered a town reminiscent of medieval times.

Jin entered the town and observed the area teeming with activity. Numerous shops were attempting to sell their goods to earn money for their families.

The town looked very cozy and it was guarded by some guards who wore glittering and shiny armor.

He felt that there was no reason for the guard to be present because he hadn't encountered any monsters or anything like that.

Jin went into the town and entered a bar. There were plenty of people present there: many drunk, many trying to bag themselves a woman, and many crying because of their troubles.

Jin went into the bar because he believed that it would be a great area to acquire information. He might even be able to get some from listening into the conversations of drunk people.

After getting in there, he sat on a seat.

Others didn't want to approach the person who just came in because he looked kind of pitiful and had dirty clothes. He wasn't beautiful or handsome; he seemed like a regular guy who had no money or beauty. They didn't want to mingle with people who didn't give them any benefits; hell, they doubted he would even be happy to talk to them because of his bad mood.

Unbeknownst to them, he was just nervous about what to do since he had already spent all his money to get only a measly 0.1 system points. He was kind of angry at the system.

After noticing how no one was approaching him, he felt kind of sad because the people around him had tough lives themselves; he could not give them any benefits or anything at all. Even the bartender was reluctant to approach him, thinking that he had no money to buy any drinks. The trial of void was able to replicate the reality in which Jin was living perfectly. Jin had already endured this kind of treatment for a long time.

After opening his system screen for a bit of time, he realized That he was able to convert the system points back into regular money used in trials.

After converting all his points back into money, he was able to order a drink and after getting a drink, Jin once again opened his system. There he saw a button which he had not seen before it might be because he didn't think about it yet.

It was the [stats] feature.

He clicked on it, and he was able to see his stats

It told-

Strength - 2

Agility-3

Intellect-5

Mana-1

Jin was kind of proud of his speed, which he considered his best quality, but he never expected that intelligence would be his greatest ability. Intellect meant the speed at which his brain could work. His brain was able to function pretty fast, but nowhere near the top. He never considered it a quality. He lingered for a moment, and then another prompt appeared, saying:

[secret stats can be unlocked after meeting the required criteria]

Jin wondered which kinds of stats he would be able to unlock.

After that, he wanted to complete his goal of coming to the bar.

He tried to listen into the conversations of the people, but after some listening, he concluded that they had no information that would benefit him.

They were just mundane people talking about regular everyday things, like how their crops are not growing well, or how a laborer is not getting a job, and other stuff.

After waiting for a bit, he got up and sat near where the bartender was present and listened to his conversation.

After listening for a bit more, Jin's eyes widened because he suspected that the bartender was talking to one of the other challengers.
