Weiwei used the high-speed displacement ability of the Six Powers technique Soru to avoid the flying knife. The opponent's sudden attack disrupted her plan. She didn't know whether her show of strength could deter Bucky the Clown. If not, she had to find another way.
The pirates of the Bucky Pirates all around saw that their captain had made a move, and they rushed forward at once.
"Look at the power of our Three Strange Power Brothers!"
"Our Tightrope Trio will definitely avenge Kabbage-sama!"
"The enemy's head belongs to our Stunt Quartet!"
A large group of pirates charged from all directions.
Weiwei had to pull out her sword again.
"Miss, let's help you!"
"Big sister, hold on!"
"Little girl, we are here with reinforcements!"
Johnny and Joseph, watching from the distance, tried to help her out of the siege, but their abilities were limited. At this moment, they were entangled with several pirates. The townspeople were even worse off. Facing the brutal pirates, they could only struggle to resist, barely defending themselves, let alone defeating the enemy.
Weiwei sighed and waved to her duck from a distance, motioning for it to stay away.
Karoo the duck, having seen her use her trump card before, understood her instantly and dashed away with the puppy, disappearing from sight.
"Really now, why can't you guys just listen? You have to push me to this point."
Her eyes, half-closed and half-open, flickered with dangerous light as she suppressed her rage and focused her spirit. When her mental force reached the limit her body could endure, she suddenly opened her eyes wide, releasing an invisible burst of spiritual power.
"Get lost!"
A wave of Conqueror's Haki burst out from her, centered around Weiwei, and swept through the entirety of Orange Town.
The pirates caught in the front — the so-called "Three Strange Power Brothers" and "Tightrope Trio" — rolled their eyes and collapsed where they stood, unconscious.
The rest of the pirates were no better off. Like wheat being cut down, they collapsed in swaths with a "whoosh."
Johnny, Joseph, the struggling townspeople, even the beast tamer Mohji and his lion Richie, all fell to the ground with whites in their eyes.
Only Cabaji, riding his unicycle, showed a bit more resistance. But it wasn't enough — he stayed conscious, but dazed, barely distinguishable from those who had fainted.
Not counting Karoo the duck and the puppy who had run far away, the only person still standing on the battlefield was Bucky the Clown.
Bucky stood trembling on the rooftop, all his bluster extinguished. He looked at the blue-haired girl and the sea of collapsed bodies around her in utter shock.
Weiwei looked at him with interest. The message from her Conqueror's Haki was clear. Unlike Cabaji, who had only resisted a little before falling into a trance, Bucky had completely withstood the effect. His willpower was comparable to that of the White Hunter, Smoker!
"It doesn't look like you've been suppressed much... It's unbelievable that you… a guy like you has that kind of courage."
Bucky shouted defiantly, though his voice trembled: "It's just Haki! I-I've seen plenty of that!"
Weiwei nodded. For once, she fully agreed.
As a former cabin boy on the Oro Jackson, the ship of Pirate King Gol D. Roger, Bucky the Clown had seen a lot. While Conqueror's Haki was rare across the seas, on Roger's ship, it was practically commonplace. Saying he'd "seen a lot" might sound exaggerated — but for someone like Bucky, it wasn't entirely untrue.
"Who the hell are you?! There shouldn't be someone like you in the East Blue!" Bucky the Clown wasn't stupid. From her accent, outfit, and bearing, Weiwei clearly wasn't local.
"That's right, I'm not from the East Blue. I came here to pick up a puppy. Did you see it? White, kinda dirty. Never mind, those two already ran out of town..."
"Then why aren't you gone already? You're going to bring the Marines down on us!" Bucky didn't care about some puppy — he just wanted her out of his town.
Weiwei spread her hands. "I'd love to leave. I've got things to do back home… But that guy — the puppy — he asked me to drive you out of town. That was his wish. If I don't fulfill it, he won't follow me. So here we are."
Bucky burst into loud laughter, slapping his thigh. "What does a dog know about wishes? What can it want? Hahaha, I'm dying of laughter! You talk like you can understand it... that's just nonsense..."
His laughter froze on his face.
Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss.
Bucky realized what her words implied. His eyes widened, nearly bulging out, and he asked in disbelief: "You… can you understand animals?!"
"Yep. That's one of my abilities," Weiwei replied with a bright smile. "Not just animals. I can hear the voices of rocks, trees, even rivers. I can't hear everything, but I can hear a lot. Surprised?"
Bucky was completely dumbfounded.
He'd seen Conqueror's Haki before — many times. But this ability — the Voice of All Things — was something else entirely. And the reason it left him speechless was because he recognized it. He had seen it, on that ship.
Weiwei beamed. Who said Bucky was a loser? He clearly had sharp instincts. If it were anyone else here, they might not even recognize the phrase "Voice of All Things." Gol D. Roger wasn't the type to blab, after all. And besides, this ability wasn't a combat power.
"So," she continued, "can we talk now? I told you earlier I had something to say, remember?"
Did she?
Bucky frowned, trying to recall when she said that. Nothing came to mind.
But this girl was something else. He waved his hands dismissively: "Get lost! I don't want to talk to you! Whatever 'world-changing' secret you're hiding has nothing to do with me! I don't care who you are! Scram, scram, scram!"
Weiwei acted like she hadn't heard his protests at all. Calmly, as if she were discussing lunch plans, she said:
"Hey, Red Nose. If you and your crew leave town right now, I'll tell you a clue about Captain John's treasure. This clue is top secret — even across the Grand Line."
Bucky's annoyance vanished instantly. His face turned to pure astonishment and trembling excitement. "Where?!"
"The Shichibukai Crocodile, the Sand Crocodile of Alabasta — he might hold the clue to the treasure," Vivi said, her face full of "sincerity."
