People like Luffy should be considered adventurers. Ninety-nine percent of the remaining pirates are scumbags. Bounty hunters may be slightly more moral, but their strength is often limited. That's why Weiwei never had a psychological burden when it came to killing them.
The man who was slashed in half didn't die immediately. His upper body dragged itself across the deck, leaving behind a long, gruesome trail.
Everyone was stunned. The slash was too clean, too sharp—it didn't feel human. Some whispered that it must be some kind of advanced tech weapon, sneaking glances at Weiwei's sleeves. Others muttered that she must be of alien blood, or perhaps using black magic. A few saw the sword light for what it was, but among the bounty hunters, rumors and theories flew in all directions.
"Investigating Little Garden Island is the mission of Baroque Works. I'll only say this once." As the hunters froze like frightened quails, Weiwei sheathed her sword with a cold clang. "Compose yourselves! No bickering!"
What Weiwei feared most about Little Garden Island wasn't the giants—Green Ghost Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy—it was the monstrous goldfish that often circled the waters, large enough to swallow entire islands. Against a beast that size, her swordsmanship and even her Armament Haki would be nearly useless. If swallowed, no one would come to save her.
So before landing, she used her "Voice of All Things" to eavesdrop on the conversations of sea creatures nearby.
After listening for over ten minutes and confirming that the monstrous goldfish wasn't present, she gave the order to descend onto the island.
Little Garden Island was far larger than what the manga described. The ecosystem was complete, with a fully intact food chain—hence why ancient creatures like dinosaurs still thrived here in large numbers.
Finding two giant warriors in the thick jungle without flight would normally require luck.
But Weiwei didn't need luck—she had a duck with a unique ability.
Karoo's tracking was not triggered by beastly activity, only by humanoid life. The two giants had been fighting here for over a century, clashing more than seventy thousand times—an average of twice daily. That made it easy to track them. Weiwei simply followed the direction Karoo ran whenever he picked up the trace of a battle.
The distant sound of clashing metal echoed across the jungle. Weiwei turned to Karoo and gave a simple command: "Scout, five seconds."
Karoo dashed off. Weiwei pointed east. "That's the direction. Let's move!"
---
Three days later.
"Quack! Guguqua!" Karoo was furious. He pulled out a frying pan from who-knows-where and tried to whack Weiwei with it, but she nimbly dodged.
The duck chased her for nearly 200 meters before stopping, breathing heavily, eyes filled with righteous resentment. You and your sense of direction! it seemed to scream. If you hadn't led the way, we'd have found them long ago! Now we're just spinning around like idiots!
"Woof!" Even the little white puppy barked twice in agreement, acting like Karoo's backup singer.
Weiwei defended herself shamelessly. She claimed the terrain was too complicated. Her sense of direction wasn't that bad—she had only taken a few extra turns.
Behind them, the bounty hunters collapsed into exhausted heaps. Weiwei traveled light; they didn't. They were the ones carrying the massive barrels of sake prepared for Green Ghost Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy. Refusing was not an option—Weiwei's blade ensured compliance.
They had spent three days trudging through the dangerous jungle, nearly collapsing from exhaustion.
Physical fatigue was one thing, but the beasts were relentless. Step in the wrong place, and you'd land on a venomous snake. Wipe your sweat, and a giant carnivorous bird might swoop in. Over just three days, twelve bounty hunters had died. Most of the reinforcements sent from headquarters were wiped out.
Those remaining had mostly followed Weiwei from Whiskey Peak. She rescued them when she could, but the dangers of the island were too great. Even with her help, the total death count had reached fifteen.
The journey was grueling, but on the fifth day, Weiwei finally stood atop a ridge and saw them—two colossal figures locked in battle in the northern zone of the island: Green Ghost Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy.
Each was nearly twenty meters tall. Dorry was lean, with a beard that flowed down to his abdomen, a longsword in one hand and a round shield in the other. Brogy was massive, with a powerful frame, wielding a massive axe and a matching shield.
Their weapons clashed with a roar, each impact generating powerful shockwaves that flattened everything around them. No trees stood within their battleground—just crushed earth and splinters.
"What's that noise?"
"What kind of beast makes a sound like that?"
The bounty hunters exchanged uneasy glances. Their nerves were fraying.
Weiwei had never mentioned giants. Her cover story was simple and believable: the Baroque Works mission was merely a pretext. Secretly, she was treasure hunting, and the barrels of sake were meant to lull beasts guarding ancient riches into drunken slumber.
That had made sense—this uncharted island looked exactly like the kind of place treasure would be hidden.
But now... now they could hear it—metallic echoes, distant roars. And a sense of dread settled in.
Weiwei jumped from the ridge and gave Karoo a knowing glance.
Karoo, with the puppy in tow, spun his legs like a windmill and disappeared into the forest.
The very next second, Weiwei unleashed her Conqueror's Haki.
The fifteen bounty hunters dropped like wheat before a scythe, not even uttering a groan.
Although she tried to control the range, the shockwave stunned countless beasts in the surrounding forest. In the distance, Green Ghost Dorry and Red Ghost Brogy stopped mid-clash and turned curiously.
"Hm? What a bold little human girl… Judging by your expression, you didn't just happen to wander here, did you?" Dorry rumbled, lowering his sword. "You came looking for us?"
Weiwei stepped forward, halting ten meters away from the giants. She tilted her head upward, her voice calm.
She lacked Luffy's charm, but she had her own bargaining chips—items the giants would value enough to win their trust.
"Thin face, long beard... You must be Green Ghost Dorry?"
"That's me," he answered with a booming laugh.
"Rounder face, strong build... You're Red Ghost Brogy?"
Brogy raised his axe and grinned. "Aye! That's me!"
