They weren't ready to face his wrath! That man was something else when he was angry.
"Mother, I'm sorry...." Lu Zi Zhen had rushed into taking care of this situation, forgetting that it could be a setup that had been nicely calculated for them to fall into. It's just that they hadn't thought through it.
"I hadn't noticed it, so you also couldn't have seen the scheme, it was too perfect and flawless to receive such clear direction and clues of what had happened... They would be targeting you again sooner than you expect, be careful." She was careless and hadn't thoroughly thought through all those clues they got, they were just in a rush to clean up the mess. Someone must have given them the wrong direction to buy time for themselves. Or they knew they were coming and they waited for them.
"Okay, momma..." Lu Wan Ruyi arrived at the underground parking lot and kept her motorcycle away as the boys alighted while the guards rode the Jeep back home, just following behind them. With injuries, their first stop was at the infirmary to treat their wounds.
"Momma, go back to your bedroom, don't let daddy wake up and find out you aren't there... I will take care of his wound. You don't have to worry." Lu Ting Cheng held Lu Zi Zhen's shoulders and assisted him over to the small infirmary they had so that they could address the wound and stitch up the tear.
"All right, good night." She kissed them good night before rushing over to the other store room, changing back into her sleeping robe, keeping her handguns away before walking back into her bedroom, but was surprised to see Lu Zhi Hao seated on the bed while he gently rubbed his eyes, seemingly he had just woken up.
"What happened?" After closing the bedroom door, she hurried over to the bed as Lu Zhi Hao stretched his hand and held her hand, dragging her into his arms.
"I just feel unwell and my head is so heavy! I think there's something wrong with these incense sticks, so I wanted to put them off. Where did you go? When I woke up, I couldn't feel you beside me." He hoarsely spoke up while he switched off the incense burner. He kissed her on her cheeks, gazing into those warm and calm eyes.
"I couldn't sleep, so I went over to the kitchen to find some milk to assist me." Her voice was low and soft. Since she was nicely dressed up before riding the motorbike, her body was warm, and no one was gonna know that she had been out there riding in the cold.
"Oohh... Let's go back to sleep then." He kissed her forehead as they lay back on the bed, covering each other up, and they fell asleep.

At the infirmary, Lu Zi Zhen received treatment and got the wound addressed before Lu Ting Cheng assisted him back to his bedroom and stayed close by to make sure he was taken care of at night, just in case he got a fever.
"She almost got hurt!" Lu Zi Zhen was still panicked, and you could hear it from his voice; his heartbeat was beating so wildly as his eyes radiated coldness. If he hadn't acted faster, it was his mother who would be in a critical condition at the moment. He didn't know how he could have explained things to their father. This was their carelessness and fault.
"Don't blame yourself, these are problems that arise all the time. We were too careless and hadn't checked things carefully, and ended up getting trapped in their setup. One thing we need to do at the moment is to make sure you are well by tomorrow morning." Lu Ting Cheng was worried that their father would notice something was wrong with him if he woke up with a pale face or if he didn't show up at their breakfast table.
