"It must be good to have a team, huh?" Kaiji said, while still looking outside the window at the evening sky.
Ren shrugged in response. "Well, it depends," he replied.
"Look at me, I didn't get to do any mission yet, while you and Hiroshi has already did one?"
Kaiji looked at him, a hint of amusement in his eyes, and asked, "How did you know?"
Though he himself knew the answer, he asked anyway.
"You and Hiroshi weren't present at the Genin Corps Department for like last week, when I visit there." Ren explained simply.
Kaiji nodded. "Well, it's only me," he said.
"I have completed my mission, but Hiroshi has yet to complete his mission."
Ren asked about his mission location. "So you two have different missions," he asked, "Where was your mission?"
Kaiji smirked lightly. "I can't tell you," he said teasingly. "It's forbidden to share the details of missions."
Ren scoffed lightly. He waved his hand in a 'whatever' gesture.
"Well, my mission was only a simple bandit extermination," Kaiji answer anyway, giving a general idea.
"While Hiroshi got a bigger mission, though that's still C-rank."
Ren asked about the nature of Hiroshi's mission. "What kind of real mission?" he pressed.
Kaiji shrugged. "I don't have full details," he said, "but I only heard that his mission is on the north side that linked to Land of Earth's borders."
Ren's eyes widened in surprise. "That far?!" he exclaimed.
The Land of Earth borders were indeed quite far from Sunagakure.
It easily took a week of detour travel to reach there.
Sunagakure, location-wise, was closer to the Land of Rain and the Land of Rivers, which even created more distance between them and the Land of Fire.
Ren then asked a worrying question. "Would his mission be dangerous?"
Kaiji casually waved his hand, reassuring him. "Village wouldn't give newly graduated Genins any dangerous mission," he stated.
"Though the location might be dangerous, but Hiroshi's team probably have some simple tasks only, like taking care of some supplies or like that."
Ren nodded, somewhat relieved.
He wasn't overly worried, as he himself knew that the village wouldn't give any truly dangerous missions to them as of yet.
Though Kaiji knew that during War times, even these simple missions like taking care supplies were highly important and dangerous.
But currently, no war was going on.
This was the time of temporary peace, a fragile peace before the storm.
Kaiji chatted with Ren for a little more time, sharing casual conversation, before going back to his allotted room at the Genin Corps Facility.
He went there and did some meditation for Familiarization of Earth Nature.
Till now, he had gained some success in the first step here.
He could now sense the structure, density, shape, and firmness of the Earth beneath him.
He calculated that it might only take him up to the next five days to start practicing the second step for Familiarization exercise.
That second step involved manipulating and circulating chakra within his body to make it more dense and heavy like earth, before he moved to the practical external steps.
...
The next day, Kaiji, as usual, woke up early, before the sun rose.
After freshening up, he started getting ready for his morning training and put on his weights.
While wearing them, he had a thought. 'I need to buy new weights,' he mused.
"I get used to current amount of weights."
Currently, Kaiji could wear weights on each wrist and leg of 120 pounds.
While it was already quite good for a normal person, comparing that his body was not that of a normal human from his past life, but of a ninja, he knew this weight number was still far less than his target.
Kaiji had a demanding target: being able to get used to wearing weights of a Ton.
This target he set based on Rock Lee's weights from the anime.
Though he didn't know the exact amount of weight Lee's weights were, his speculation was that it was at least a Ton in each leg or maybe more.
This was based on the impact they made when Lee removed them in the anime; the ground actually trembled.
Even though he wouldn't stop even when Kaiji got used to a weight of a Ton, he would still use more, when he reached that number.
After doing his morning physical exercise of calisthenics, he started practicing breathing exercises to increase his lungs capacity.
Now that he had already made a plan for the Seven Heavens Breathing Method, he could obviously start this preparatory training without much worry and make his body ready for the real practical steps of Activation of Technique later.
After completing his training, he went back and took a bath. He then got ready for the day.
Today, he had no mission assigned to him.
So, he decided to go to the Mission counter to take any odd job for some extra bucks.
After completing that task and getting his cut, his next plan was to go to the Sunagakure's Hospital.
As a member of the Genin Corps, he might not have much free time now.
He could be given a mission anytime.
So, it was better to start moving his plans, which also included Medical Ninjutsu, sooner rather than later.
Once he reached the hospital, he observed its exterior.
He saw that there was not much difference here compared to hospitals from his past life in terms of function.
The difference he was talking about was in structure and architectural style.
Thought the walls were quite thick, and the windows of the hospital were many, but mostly narrow, designed for the desert environment.
He walked inside and it was mostly quiet, leaving only the hushed footsteps of staff, giving a faint footsteps sound, the low murmur of voices, a soft murmur, and the occasional soft chime of medical equipment, a quiet chime.
He saw many Shinobi's in hospital garments.
There was no term of 'Doctor' here in this world, they use term 'Medical Ninja' here.
So the staff responsible for healing were ninjas, called Medical-nins.
The hospital air, despite carrying a faint sterile smell, also carried the dry mineral scent of sand and rock, mostly because the walls were made from them.
Since Kaiji didn't know who to ask about learning Iryo Ninjutsu, he just went to the counter.
A Kunoichi Medical-nin was present there.
He walked towards her and, with a slight bow, said, "Good afternoon..."
The Kunoichi looked up at him, gazed at him for a moment, and nodded.
"Yes?" she asked, her voice calm.
Kaiji then stated his purpose and asked, "I want to learn Medical Ninjutsu, who do I need to ask?"
