Chapter 34 - The Listener's return

As they entered the shop, the walls simply held a massive amount of banners, flags, fantasy maps, and even peculiar trinkets. – And of course, tea-filled shelves. All types! Lovely.

Nora's head moved around widely, her covered eyes looking around silently, so as not to get caught but also make sure she gets a good look at everything! She has never been here before!

Tris moved around quite slowly, making sure Nora did not get pulled too fast. – He was the gentle type of person in the end! His hands brushing over some certain types of tea!

'Ama, I bet you a cup of tea he is gonna take all of the forest fruits tea.'

Fuka spoke, but this time Tris could not hear it. – Seemingly a personal deal between her and Ama! A sister deal thing, so to speak! They surely missed each other. To an extent.

'All?! I am very sure he does not look like the type to drink that much tea! I object, Deal taken.'

Ama spoke with quite the swiftness, clearly believing in her thoughts. – He would take a few packs. Not all of them… Right? She hoped so, at least! Dreams are something she had.

The sly fox was still moving his hand on the shelves. – Finally running into the forest fruits tea! – Yeah, no, Amaka was wrong. He proceeded to just yoink all the packages! Holding them all in one hand.

'FUCK, cheater! How did you know that?! Impossible! You must have cheated! I won't agree to a loss!'

Ama spoke to Fuka's mind, clearly angered with the results. – She should have won in the end! Or was she just selfish? Probably both! – But fate has decided.

'No, I've just lived with him for the past sixteen years.'

Fuka answered with a small chuckle. – Happy with her actions, showing her sister that in the end, she was still the one in the lead, by pure knowledge. – Who knew they valued it that much!

Nora just gave an internal sigh as he saw Tris just grab all the bags… Her head was looking around. – Seeing no one nearby, she reached for one of the shelves!

And proceeded to steal all of the lemon-flavoured tea! Clearly, she also had quite a love for tea! – Who could judge her? It is amazing. Truly amazing.

The sly fox chuckled as his eyes fell back onto the blindfolded lady. – Giving a small grin, before proceeding to drag her along! – Heading towards the exit, of course, through the payment area.

It was easy to find, one lone old lady sitting down on a chair, waiting for people to come over and pay. – Clearly also being the owner of the shop… – She looked oddly familiar.

His mind started moving around in circles. – Why did he recognise this older woman? Who was she? – It was like the new clothes did not fit… Modern. Too modern for his memory.

Then his memory clicked in… – The older lady was the only one who listened to his story… – Back in the city in the starless realm… – What was she doing here? – How was she here?

From his knowledge, there was only one path to go between the realms. – The Garden of Sol. Who was guarded by Rose herself, only she and her allies were allowed to move through it.

But this woman was not one he had seen before. – And he knew all of Rose's friends; she made sure to introduce them all to him in the end! – For safety and trust reasons. Though there weren't many.

His heart seemed to skip a beat. – Just out of emotion. – It scared him. – The fact that there possibly could be someone able to jump through the realms like they were nothing.

Her eyes fell onto him, offering… – A sweet smile. One almost pulled from time itself. Exactly like in their first meeting… – She knew who he was. – And was not even bothered… But sweet.

This made him calm down at least a bit. The fact that she owned a tea shop made her feel… Less of a danger to himself. – Made her more innocent, so to speak. – So his body moved.

"Ah, little last bard… Seems we meet again! – Do tell me, what words of power has such a star-filled sky offered you? – After all, you hold the power of words. Or are you too young for it?"

The old black haired woman spoke, her wrinkled skin finally coming back to our fox's memory… – Her words made it clear, she knew more than she spoke.

Tris paused, taking a deep breath as he heard the woman's words, taking a second to think and consider them, while also observing her behaviour.

Nora blinked, taken by surprise. – Having no idea who she was, or what she was stuck in for the current moment, just hoping it would end fine!

"I have not expected you, Anne. – Seems you know more than you speak… My answer is No. And I'm in a rush, Apologies if I don't wish to talk… For now."

The sly fox adjusted his behaviour, making it seem like he knew, when truly he did not. – Attempting to get out as fast as possible, and return at a later date, when it was safe.

Or well, truly there wasn't such a thing as safe, just him with probably his mother or Fenrir. – One that could protect him if it came to a fight…

"Of course, of course. Scan the little immortal's card here, hmm?"

Anne spoke, sliding the device over, simply holding it up! Smiling.

Tris disliked this so, so much… Everything in his body was telling him to punt the woman right here and now. – But he restrained himself, swiftly scanning the card. Before moving.

The woman chuckled, passing over a bag for the two, proceeding to hold it for them. – To make it easier to place the items into it.

And the fox did not reject it! Filling the bag swiftly as he took it, grabbing Nora and dashing out without any additional words!

"Run little ember... – As the shards are cruel. – True Sol, or not. A flaming ember you remain. – Judgement is the same."

Her weak and raspy voice spoke as they left... – A chill travelled down his spine.
