Chapter 35 - The House Fox

The sly fox let out heavy breaths, clearly still slightly panicked. His eyes were looking around. Almost worried she might have followed them. But she did not!

Nora looked confused, with a clear shade of worry on her small face. – After all, she had no idea who that lady was. Or why she knew Tris to even begin with!

'That woman is some bullshit, not human. – Yet not shard from the looks of it.'

Fuka's voice rang in his head. She gave the information she managed to gather alone. But most of it was already known. – The Bukis could access his memory in the end

"This is… something. – SIGH, I'll deal with it later. I need my mother. Fen, and many more…"

Tris spoke, looking rather exasperated, holding his temples, bag still in his hand and filled with tea! – Okay, yeah, I suppose he just had bad luck for using Fen's credit card.

Still, this boy had no regrets. – He sometimes really lacked common sense; this was one of those times.

"Ah- Perhaps best I don't ask about it then. – I don't want to enter in Althea's business…"

Nora spoke, sounding quite shy. – It always made her panic being involved with even Tris's existence… She has heard stories, but wasn't always serious about them. They couldn't all be true… Right?

"My ass, shes pulling you along. – You don't have to get involved. She is getting you involved like the devil she is! – Ugghh! It annoys me. It is dangerous! And she is treating it like it is nothing!"

The fox spoke, giving a big sigh. Extending all his bothers in just a few sentences. – Though not the nicest words were used. – He should learn to be nice.

"Oi oi! That is enough! Keep your language civilised! I get it, you don't have the best relationship! – You've barely met – You think like you know each other, when you don't."

She explained, almost as if she had experience with it! – Now he was questioning if all angels had such unstable parental relationships. Or they were unique. – Probably just unique!

'I like the girl, she has proper behaviour! Unlike the fox…"

Ama addressed Fuka, keeping her voice away from Tris's mind, simply stating her beliefs, taking quite a liking to Nora!

'Yeah, yeah, you're just extremely boring. Shush, it, you're gonna get used to it and see his reasoning. You see memories, not the felt emotions.'

Fuka spoke, seemingly quite swiftly shutting Ama's mouth up. – In the end, that was the truth, she was speaking the facts!

Tris did not bother to argue. – He very much could! That was not the issue, but it would have led nowhere.

He was simply not the type to push topics, he knew the truth.

Nora moved and just grabbed his wrist, softly nudging him forward. – They had to get going in the end, not waste time arguing.

The fox chuckled, grabbing her lightly as he proceeded to go ahead! Preventing more people from just staring at them. – He hated it.

The two's temper seemingly turned back to the light-hearted origin. – Just moving along, this time taking the path towards the dorms.

Time was something they quite lacked. – No, not regarding Fen's credit card. But about the packing! They had no idea what to bring or what not to bring… How would they even charge their phones?!

Tris had that part handled, he had a solar power battery, and if really needed, he was gonna create a mini sun. And probably nuke a city by accident.

Of course, then came the problem of Signal. But Fen had that handled LONG ago… I suppose he just expected to have a small kitsune child to take care of!

And Nora knew nothing of that, on the road back to the dorms, just bombarding him with a thousand questions, which he answered with a massive amount of ease. – He was the first to ask those to Fen in the end!

Yet one thing perked into his view. – Something that has been going on since they left the place, leaving Althea and Fen behind…

Rose was following them, silently dancing around in the background. – No human could notice it, but Tris already had special senses. – And the fact that she stalked him before did not help his suspicion.

She never got close enough to actually hear them. – But she was present. To an extent, almost creepily watching them. – Tris badly hoped his mother didn't tell her to do it.

Why would his mother do that, even? – She probably wonders how close he actually is to Nora, simply. That is what a mother cares about when the child is older.

She barely knew him fully, yet she had probably already made assumptions. – It made him feel funky regarding. – But also a bit glad he did not have to deal with it… Till now that is!

But that did not mean he liked it. – Quite heavily, he always disliked the idea of parents getting into a child's friendly relationships. Or trying to push them.

This type of nudge was just not psychologically alright with him. – For some reason. In the end, everyone had their own opinions! – And this was his own. A take as some could call it!

And with that, they finally arrived back, right in front of the door, as he literally kicked it open. – If he broke it, he could fix it anyway! That was the benefit of being himself.

"We have lived another day!"

Tris spoke with a grin, moving forward and placing the tea-filled bag on the table, almost throwing it. – He was quite a rough person sometimes!

"Yeah, yeah. Seems the house fox could not handle being outside for too long! Am I right?"

Nora spoke with a chuckle, already starting with her usual behaviour. – Things were getting back to normal, mainly with Rose not being inside their apartment.

He honestly expected her to be inside! – It sounded like something she would do. But they were safe.

Tris just grabbed the tea and moved towards the counter! It was TIME!
