"Daddy, my tummy hurts."
As soon as Dean saw him, he pouted and tears streamed down his cheeks.
"Dean, don't be afraid. After you take some medicine, the pain will go away. It's okay, diarrhea is normal. Even Daddy had it when he was little. Come on, I'll help you get cleaned up."
Gilbert cradled him gently and headed toward the bathroom. As they walked, the mess leaked from Dean's pants and got on Gilbert's clothes, but he didn't seem to care at all, as if it wasn't something dirty.
Emma stood there, her face pale and flushed, completely at a loss.
She quickly snapped back to her senses and rushed into the bathroom, saying, "Gilbert, let me do it. I'll clean Dean up."
"That won't be necessary," Gilbert replied coldly, his voice icy and distant.
Emma froze in place.
