After the two little ones got out of the elevator, they crouched beside the flower bed and peeked out with their tiny heads.
And what they saw is Gilbert had somehow pinned Mommy against a tree and was lowering his head as if he was about to bite her!
"Hey! That's not good! The bad guy is bullying Mommy!"
Hilary was furious and picked up a stone from the flower bed.
Adam's sharp eyes darted around as he quickly took the stone from Hilary's hand.
"Hilary, stay here and don't move. I'll help Mommy." He tucked her safely behind the flower bed and put down his clothes-hanger stick.
From his previous battle with Kelly, Adam had learned that while the stick was good for hitting bad guys, it could easily be snatched and used against him. So this time, he crept behind a tree, relying on his shot-put skills, and hurled the stone hard at Gilbert Watson's back.
