Nicole glanced at Hope. Her red eyes lighted up and she suggested: 'You better let her go through the operation!' Larah retreated and halted when she had realized there was no place to retreat to anymore.
'You won't have her, she bellowed, holding Hope tighter.
'Why do you need her?', Dean wanted to know. Grinning Nicole strolled to a chair in a corner and took a seat, her legs crossed. She tilted her head forward, posing it on her arm.
'Well', she began, 'to protect her and everyone else here! You know through the intel we got from. Some demons we got to know that the demons and angels need people who are immune. That way they can use the as sacrifice or should I rather say, they can use the demons possessing the humans as sacrifice. It's not the hum themselves they need but they need demons or angels on this side, so on earth. Seems like most demons don't know themselves about that fact!'
'I understand!', Dean uttered and with it, attired Larah's anger:
'What do you understand, Dean? You will just give them our … child like that?'
'No, I won't. But if what she said is true and these priests can trace Hope, then they will come. And you saw that woman who threw fire at us, didn't you?' Larah gulped. 'So what kind of operation is that, miss?'
'Please call me Nicole. It's an operation where we separate the demon's soul from the host. That way the human keeps the power and the demon will then die without a host, but that would be a pity to just let the demon go to waste like that, wouldn't it? That's why we use what is left of the demon to create weapons. That way we win three times. The immune one is not an immune one anymore. The demon truly dies, because it's the soul we kill and get weapons. The stronger the demon was the stronger the weapons. … Despite my information you still seem skeptical! Why?' Dean turned to Larah and viewed her whole with Hope.
'Damn!', he mumbled. 'You look good together. Nicole, what is the survival rate?' That's when Nicole poker face crumbled, even if only for a beat, but it was enough. She rose to her legs and her calm sweat tone turned rather rough, as if she was giving orders:
'You know, you can just leave! There is the door! The last thing we need is a bunch of people attiring these priests!' Dean glanced over to the door and then to Nicole.
'Larah!', Dean called out and pounced on a soldier. One fist was all he needed to brought down the soldier, then within the next seconds he had taken the weapons of the soldier. 'Larah prepare yourself! We are getting out of here. Otherwise they would not let us go. Am I not right, Nicole?'
'You are a smart one! Yes even then we can't let you go. I told you the immune people are needed to open the gate to our world. I would be crazy to offer them one on the silver table: Because that's exactly what would happen if you left!' A sudden loud siren attired everyone's attention. The first one to grasp the situation was Nicole:
'Seems like they are already here! Dean, you seem to be rather a smart one. You can flee and not take the operation. And if you're lucky you won't encounter any ghouls. But let me tell you one thing, you won't make it far. The priests will look for you and trust me they will find you. Or before that happens the demon inside Hope will take control of her. Being immune only means that you don't turn into a ghoul but it is never guaranteed that a demon or angel will not take control of the host! We must go now. The choice is yours to make. But for now stay here and protect the child with your life!' Right away, Nicole and her soldiers hurried out the room.
Commander Nootra's speech had lit up the spirits of his soldier and even Sark and Jessie had felt it, still there was concern all over Sark's face.
'Ok, I don't quite get that with humans getting super powers, but how will the normal soldiers fight, Commander Nootra?'
'A good question. With the souls of the demon we were able to enhance our weapons but even then not everyone is capable to wield them. Yes, the demon is dead but his fragments remains in the weapons. If a person has a strong mind nothing will happen. He will get a little physical boost while wielding the weapon. For each person it's different. However, if your mind is too weak, the weapon will take control of you and make you to a killing machine. You will keep your human form but you will become a beast. And that's why I also wanted to see you. Krus told me about you and he was right. You definitely have a strong mind, that I know! Will you help us?' Jessie was the first one to reply, her face overshadowed by anger and grief:
'I was helpless when she came and killed my friend but if these weapons will make me stronger, strong enough to kill her, then I don't mind! Count me in!' That left only one person
'Will I have to commit to the military if I accept these weapons?'
'Yes, you will!', Commander Nootra replied. 'I think you understand our situation' – the siren cut in. A soldier stormed into the room, saluting.
'How many?', Commander Nootra demanded.
'Many, around thousand at least and it seems like a person is leading them, a dark priest. Not only that. Some ghouls have merged together. They are not your normal ghouls!'
Commander Nootra looked away from Sark, he could get his answer later.
'Everyone listen, I won't force anyone to participate in the battle! Go and hide somewhere. I don't care. However, know this. If they make it through we will not be the only one to suffer. Your families, your friends and their families and many more. Today we fight for something greater! Today we win!'
'YEAHHHHHH…
Nighyel was located somewhere in the middle of the advancing herd. She glanced over to John.
'Damn you look so hot John. I could jump you know. But first the work and then the pleasure, hahahah! I have a special task for you! I am sure you feel lonely without your other friend. Why not let her join us, ahahahaha…
