Eldo and Winter lay on the ground, gazing up at the sky.
Winter rose first, his clothes charred. Limping back into the cabin, he collapsed on the floor before reaching his bed.
Kyo, torn between concern for Winter and Eldo, found relief as he approached Eldo outside; he was breathing steadily. Safely back in the cabin, Kyo placed Eldo on his bed, anxious about potential conflicts if either woke.
To Kyo's surprise, Winter muttered an apology on the cabin floor.
"I feel myself falling apart," Winter admitted.
"I don't know which of me is real..." he continued.
Speechless, Kyo wanted to help in any way possible.
Winter turned to Kyo.
"Take me to the mountains; I shall live on through there," he requested before closing his eyes.
Kyo complied, carrying Winter's seemingly lifeless body toward the horizon. Hours passed; midnight arrived with a bright moon, and eventually, they reached the mountains.
With fading strength, Winter grasped Kyo's arm, whispering, "Cave..." Kyo nodded.
Navigating the cold rocky terrain, Kyo scaled partway up a mountain, discovering a snow-filled cavern. Placing Winter on a pile of fluffy snow, Kyo fulfilled his final request.
"I know we never got off on the right foot, but I'm glad I could fulfill your final request," Kyo said, looking at Winter's lifeless body before leaving the cavern.
Early morning found Kyo back in the cabin. Eldo slept, injuries nearly healed. Elliot, awake, greeted Kyo as he entered, playing for a few minutes before Kyo succumbed to exhaustion on his bed.
