Rain began to fall.
Eldo and Winter found themselves standing in the same place they had occupied before.
Without uttering a word, Winter lunged at Eldo, dagger drawn, hoping to conclude the fight before it began. However, Eldo met him with a defiant glare. Winter halted, wary of a potential counterattack.
"Hm, interesting," Winter remarked, intrigued by Eldo's unexpected response.
"I couldn't read you. That means you've clearly changed," Winter stated in a pleasant tone.
Eldo remained silent. The skin on his body started peeling off, and his form continued to brighten.
Winter, now armored in ice, charged back at Eldo with increased protection. Eldo remained motionless, enduring a powerful blow to the face followed by a slash across his chest.
Eldo crumpled to the ground, screaming in pain. Before Winter could speak, he noticed the tip of his dagger had melted. It became evident that this fight presented a new challenge.
"You're holding back. Do you truly wish to die?" Winter inquired, tossing his dagger aside and conjuring an ice replica.
Smoke rose from Eldo's body, and fire attempted to spread across the grass but was extinguished by the rain.
The boy rose, with half his upper body steaming and emitting intense heat. Flames erupted sporadically from his pores, accompanied by continuous screams of agony.
Winter skillfully dodged the flames and hurled his icicle dagger at Eldo at incredible speeds. The icicle impaled Eldo through the stomach, causing him to collapse.
"Too sloppy," Winter expressed, disappointment evident.
The icicle within Eldo began to melt, yet it seemed he couldn't recover from the accumulated injuries. Eldo once again lost consciousness.
Amidst darkness, Eldo actively sought the figure he encountered before, and to his surprise, the blazing figure returned.
"Well, this is ironic," the figure snickered.
"Never thought I'd ever see that frost demon again," the figure continued.
Desperate, Eldo pleaded with the scorching figure for help.
"You want my help, huh?" the figure said, then paused.
"I could use your help, too," he added, pointing to a throne emerging from the darkness.
"Now, would you look at that!" he eagerly continued.
Eldo had no clue what the figure was talking about. All he knew was that he couldn't die here. The boy agreed to whatever favor was needed in return for temporary power.
And so Eldo received the favor of the molten figure. Before he knew it, the boy's body had transformed, mimicking the molten figure in his mind.
Eldo had truly become nothing but magma and bones that had not melted away.
Having witnessed Eldo's transformation, Winter realized Eldo was under "His" pact.
"Seems like we're fighting once again under new vessels," Winter grinned.
"What are you talking about?" Eldo muttered, sounding monstrous.
Winter remained silent, encircling the nearby area in blue ice spikes and generating multiple ice daggers in anticipation of Eldo's next move.
Eldo advanced slowly toward Winter, melting any ice in his path. Winter retaliated by throwing multiple daggers at mach speeds. However, by the time they reached Eldo's body, they melted away.
Within seconds, Eldo was only a few meters away. Winter, in anger, stomped the ground, creating an ice spike beneath Eldo. Seizing the opportunity, Eldo struck Winter with full force.
Throughout the fight, Eldo had not moved quickly. Therefore, Winter couldn't calculate the distance Eldo needed to close in.
It only took Eldo 10 meters, and he reached Winter instantly.
Winter withstood the devastating blow, holding Eldo's fist just in time but was still launched meters away due to the punch's power. Hadn't Winter coated his arms in ice earlier, he would have lost them.
Winter stood back up seconds later.
"I think it is time we both end this," Winter declared, no longer smiling.
Eldo immediately began charging up an attack.
"Glad the feeling is mutual," Winter responded to Eldo's actions.
Winter then initiated a storm of ice daggers, utilizing the constant rain to freeze them.
The energy Eldo generated surpassed even his own molten body temperature.
The two were prepared to settle their differences through one last attack.
Suddenly, Kyo awoke, sensing the rising temperature within the cabin. Outside the window, he realized a battle beyond his control was underway, so he stood idly by, holding Elliot in his arms.
In mere seconds, they unleashed their devastating attacks.
"HEATWAVE!!!" Eldo roared, pushing a wave of scorching flames towards Winter.
"10,000 CUTS, ICE STORM!" Winter declared, releasing thousands of floating ice daggers swiftly towards Eldo.
All Kyo witnessed was a quick flash, and the battle had been decided.
