As the words fell, Roger stepped forward slowly, eyes meeting Garp's intense gaze.

"Garp, let's wait until after the Battle of the Valley of the Gods. Right now, Marine isn't our concern."

Garp grunted, folding his arms across his chest, saying nothing more.

To him, fighting side by side with pirates—especially Roger—was humiliating. But at this point, Marine couldn't afford to let pride dictate action. The fall of Marshal Brownie had shaken their ranks, and the battlefield was on the brink of collapse.

The conversation didn't go unnoticed.

The Rocks Pirates, scattered across the high cliffs and ruins of the Valley, immediately sensed something was wrong.

"Shit! Don't tell me Roger actually joined the Marines?" one of the veteran pirates growled, gripping his cutlass tighter.

"Dammit… I thought the Marines were bluffing, but those bastards from the Roger Pirates really joined forces with them!"

"Captain Rocks may have taken down Brownie, but… this changes the whole damn game!"

"The Roger Pirates… they should've been destroyed long ago! Why didn't Captain Rocks wipe them out?!"

Tension rose like smoke. The Rocks Pirates, once confident after their Captain felled the Marine Marshal, now felt a chill. Roger's crew wasn't just a New World force—they were the most dangerous pirates outside of Rocks' own circle.

High above, floating via his Fuwa Fuwa no Mi powers, Golden Lion Shiki folded his arms and laughed.

"Jihahaha… Roger! I never thought you'd actually crawl into bed with the World Government. What a disgrace!"

He'd doubted Deros, the masked CPO commander, earlier. But seeing Roger's casual exchange with the Marines removed all doubt.

Below, Big Mom—still young but already monstrous—stepped forward. Her voice thundered.

"You've really aligned yourself with the government, Roger? You're a disgrace to pirates."

Roger shrugged. "Come on, Linlin. Pirates or not, you and I both know we're enemies. What's so wrong about allying with my enemy's enemy?"

Rayleigh stepped in beside him, arms relaxed but ready to strike at any moment. "It's not like we had a choice. Both Marine and the Rocks want us dead. At least the Marines have too many enemies to focus entirely on us."

It was true. Marine HQ had to stretch its forces thin across the seas, policing the YonkĹŤ, warlords, and rogue nations. The Rocks Pirates, on the other hand, were unified and ruthless. A single mistake against them in the New World could mean annihilation.

Big Mom clicked her tongue. "Tch. So that's your excuse for teaming up with the dogs in white coats?"

Jabba scoffed, stepping forward. "Do we need your permission, Charlotte Linlin? Just because we're pirates doesn't make us friends."

"Ma~mamamama… That's true. But I'll crush the Roger Pirates myself once this is over!"

"You're welcome to try," Rayleigh said, eyes narrowing.

Rocks may have been a monster, but individual commanders weren't beyond Roger's crew's capabilities. The likes of Big Mom, Shiki, and Whitebeard were fearsome, but none of them terrified the Roger Pirates—not yet.

Nearby, John adjusted his blade and spoke up.

"So… are you really just here for Captain Rocks?"

A strange question. If Roger's group had come solely to kill Rocks, that would be one thing. But if they planned to dismantle the entire command structure of the Rocks Pirates…

That could spell disaster for the rest of them.

"Hahahaha… John, what a question!" Roger burst out laughing. "You sound like you want your captain to fall here today."

"Don't twist my words, Roger!" John snapped, trying to play it off.

Despite Rocks' wounds, his dominance still weighed heavily on his commanders. Speaking against him—even indirectly—was dangerous.

"You overestimate us if you think the three of us can defeat him alone," Silver Axe said cautiously, eyeing Roger, Rayleigh, and Jabba.

In truth, Silver Axe wasn't praising Rocks—he was baiting the Roger Pirates into a full-on confrontation. If the entire Roger crew focused solely on Rocks, they might win—but it would cost them dearly. And perhaps, just perhaps, it would end Rocks' reign.

Ochoku joined in, his voice like steel scraping stone. "You should walk away, Roger. You aren't prepared for what's coming."

Roger smirked. "We'll see about that."

Silver Axe and Ochoku exchanged glances. Their ploy might just work. If Roger's entire force focused on Rocks, the battle could turn in their favor.

Then, from the shadows of the shattered mountain, Rocks D. Xebec himself emerged.

His coat was torn, and blood soaked his chest, but the murderous aura around him was as dense as ever—like Kaido's Haki turned to mist. His presence warped the air. His Conqueror's Haki rolled out like crashing thunder, sending cracks through the ground.

"Hahaha… Roger Pirates… You're more interesting than I thought!"

Roger, Rayleigh, and Jabba immediately went on guard. They drew their weapons, no hesitation. The three of them, each capable of taking down entire fleets alone, now stood together, facing a nightmare.

"You really think the three of you can kill me?" Rocks spat, eyes glowing with killing intent.

Roger didn't flinch. "Not just us."

Behind him, silhouettes began to gather—Buggy, still young but quick-witted; Crocus with his medical bag; even Gaban stepped forward with his twin axes.

They weren't just here for a fight. They were here to end an era.

From the Marine side, Garp cracked his knuckles. "Damn it… Looks like we're doing this together."

"Don't slow me down, hero of the Marines," Roger smirked.

"Same to you, Pirate King," Garp replied.

On the edge of the battlefield, Zephyr, still bloodied from earlier clashes, stood beside Sengoku and Tsuru. Even they realized it now—history was being written in blood and Haki.

Above it all, the skies crackled.

Two Haoshoku Haki signatures—Roger and Rocks—collided in the heavens, splitting the clouds, much like what Luffy and Kaido would one day do.

But unlike Kaido, Rocks wasn't just brute strength. He was will incarnate, and today, that will was challenged not just by one legend—but by many.

The Battle of the Valley of the Gods had entered its second act.

And this time, the world would remember who stood against Rocks D. Xebec.
