DERRICK'S POV
The second I saw Anita standing beside Liam, something inside me snapped. She stood there with an expression that would make one believe she wasn't the devil's spawn.
I crossed the distance between us and stopped in front of the two of them. Liam had a smile on his face that seemed to be in pretense as he acted clueless about whatever was going on.
"What… the hell… is she doing here?" I said, my voice low but filled with anger.
Liam maintained the smile on his face. He really wore the persona of someone who was, in fact, innocent, and that alone made my skin crawl. "Relax, Alpha. I rescued her, remember? I couldn't just leave her out there. She's my guest."
"Your… guest?" I repeated, staring at him like he'd lost his mind. It could be that he had lost his mind because he forgot his place so suddenly. "You brought her into my house? Do you even have any idea what she's done?"
