NATHAN'S POV
"Go get some rest," I told Derrick as we walked back into the pack house.
We stayed a few minutes back where I had changed for him to see. He had been so happy to see my wolf, and it was one of the best feelings yet.
He promised to be different, he promised to treat me better, to be a better lover, and he also apologized for what he did to me.
I know an apology cannot right all the wrongs he committed against me, but seeing as he was willing to be different, there was nothing wrong with giving him a second chance.
He gave me a tired smile, and immediately, I could feel my heart fluttering. "You sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure. You just got stabbed with a poisoned knife, Derrick. You need to lie down, and even though you are all healed, it's essential for you to rest."
He laughed softly, bringing his hand to my hair for another ruffle. "Fine, fine. But only because you told me to."
