Chapter 125 - Wedding Day

DERRICK'S POV

Morning came far too quickly, much to my despair.

I was yet to have a wink of sleep, not because I wasn't tired, but because I didn't want to. I'd kept myself busy with business, deluding myself that as long as I didn't sleep, I wouldn't see the morning. I was trying to delay the inevitable. Sleep meant waking up, and waking up meant marrying someone I did not want to.

Unfortunately, the morning came regardless of whether I wanted it or not.

My jaw clenched as I sat up from the bed, the sunlight streaming in through the curtains, highlighting my misery. The silence in the room was deafening, and even though I wanted it this way, I wanted the day to remain as silent just because I didn't want to marry her. I could still hear the activities from outside. The servants were going from one place to another. They were busy trying to make this a wonderful day for me, the same person who didn't even want this day at all.
