NATHAN'S POV
The chill in the room was nothing compared to the coldness in Quinn's voice. She was staring at me with so much venom I feared it would spill on me. Her anger radiated off her like heat. But all of a sudden, she dragged in a deep breath and then smiled.
"You're right," she said softly, a dangerous glint in her eye. "I'm the one that needs to be careful."
I narrowed my eyes. "What's that supposed to mean?" I could never trust any words that came from her mouth. She was a sly, hateful person. My hand slipped into my pocket, fingers touching a familiar surface.
She tilted her head slightly, her lips curled into a dark smile. "It means I'm not going to insult your intelligence anymore." Her voice dropped lower, like she wanted to be cautious not to be loud. "Since you're so proud of what you have discovered, I'll give you more."
I blinked. "What?"
