Aclaric furrowed his brows. "What do you mean by that?"
Charles leaned forward, his voice low and tense. "We're stuck, Aclaric. In something bad, something deeper than we thought. You need to know what has happened… and what's still happening."
The butler and Bretum, who were still standing nearby, exchanged glances. The butler stepped forward.
"May I make a suggestion, sir?"
Charles nodded. "Go on."
The butler bowed slightly. "We should gather the knights who served closely under Commander Helena. If anyone knows the truth about her past… It's them."
Charles's eyes lit up. "That's a good idea."
"I'm glad you approve," the butler said with a faint smile.
William stood up, determined. "Then we begin tomorrow."
Aclaric followed, standing as well. "Agreed. That's a solid plan."
With that, Aclaric walked out of the office. William turned to Charles, his expression firm.
"We'll find out everything."
Charles gave a tired but proud smile. "I believe in you."
