Selene felt her throat tighten,the walls closing in as water shot up her nose. She coughed, eyes widening, and turned to her son.
"What?" she finally croaked, trying to catch her breath.
"I'm sorry, Mummy. I didn't mean it," Cyrus said, inching closer to her with wide, worried eyes.
"It's okay, baby." She exhaled and sat down, pulling him gently onto her lap, her heart still recovering from the shock.
"Selene, are you okay?" Sandy asked, settling into the seat across from them. Her voice was casual, but she had a mischievous glint in her eyes like she was expecting this question.
Selene exhaled,why the hell did she think leaving Cyrus with Sandy was a good idea,not that she didn't trust her sister she did but she also knew that sandy had something to do with this sudden question of love.
It was her way of getting information from her using her son,and Selene had just played right into her trap.
"Yes, I'm fine," Selene replied,glaring at her sister.
