Danzo realized that his life was in grave danger and ran toward Konoha like a madman.
"That damn Uchiha brat! How dare he attack me unprovoked?!
Damn it! Damn it! I need to get Hiruzen involved and put this bastard down!!!"
Danzo knew he wasn't strong enough to take on Uchiha Shin alone. His only option was to get Sarutobi Hiruzen and the Konoha forces to subdue him together.
After all, what Shin was doing now warranted immediate action from the village.
This "scourge" of the Uchiha Clan had to be eliminated at all costs.
Above him, Uchiha Shin hovered in the air, his crimson Sharingan spinning as he gazed at Danzo with amused disdain.
"What's the point of running around like an ant on the ground?"
His fingers twitched, and a sphere of compressed chakra began forming in his hand.
"Wind Release: Rasenshuriken!"
Unlike the crude, unstable version of this technique used by others, Shin had mastered the precise manipulation of Wind Release chakra.
With a single hand, he formed the deadly Rasenshuriken in less than a second.
The sheer density of the chakra compressed within the jutsu caused the air around it to wail ominously. It was a vortex of microscopic blades capable of severing trillions of cells upon impact—a technique more akin to a lethal poison than an explosive force.
But Shin wasn't planning to kill Danzo with it.
"Don't die so easily," he muttered with a smirk. "I still need you as my test subject for the Tsukuyomi I just acquired."
Without hesitation, he flicked his wrist and hurled the Rasenshuriken downward.
The air vibrated violently as the jutsu shot toward its target.
Bzzzzzz!!!
The piercing, high-pitched hum of the technique reached Danzo's ears, sending a chill down his spine. He looked up just in time to see the spiraling mass of chakra racing toward him.
His face twisted in panic.
"Shit! I can't dodge it!"
Realizing he had no choice but to counter it head-on, Danzo stopped running and quickly formed a series of hand seals.
"Wind Release: Vacuum Cannon!"
Taking a deep breath, he exhaled a massive, high-pressure sphere of compressed wind chakra.
Unlike his usual Wind Bullets, this technique was more akin to a rocket launcher, powerful enough to devastate an entire battlefield.
Danzo poured every ounce of chakra he could muster into it, knowing this was a matter of life and death.
BOOM!!!
A deafening shockwave exploded outward as the Vacuum Cannon met the Rasenshuriken midair.
Danzo expected the two jutsu to cancel each other out. At the very least, he hoped to weaken the attack or divert its trajectory.
Neither happened.
The Rasenshuriken shredded through his technique as if it were paper.
Danzo's eyes widened in horror.
"This… this is definitely an S-rank Wind Release technique!"
His mind raced as he frantically shifted into another counter.
"Fire Release: Dragon Flame Bomb!"
A massive, blazing dragon roared from his mouth and surged toward the incoming Rasenshuriken.
The flames engulfed the spiraling sphere of chakra, its heat causing the technique to combust violently. The explosion sent a shockwave through the air, redirecting the Rasenshuriken away from Danzo and into the nearby forest.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The impact tore through the landscape. A violent storm of razor-sharp wind blades erupted, slicing through trees and rock like butter.
With the added influence of the Fire Release jutsu, the entire area was set ablaze, forming a terrifying fire tornado in the heart of the forest.
Danzo, still trembling, exhaled in relief—until he sensed a familiar chakra signature.
He turned his head sharply.
"Hiruzen… you're finally here!"
His voice cracked with emotion, his relief almost palpable.
Above them, Uchiha Shin's expression darkened.
Sarutobi Hiruzen stepped forward, his eyes filled with grim determination.
"Yes, Danzo. I'm here."
The two old war dogs stood side by side, ready to face their common enemy.
Shin sneered.
"Sarutobi Hiruzen, are you here to stop me?"
He hadn't originally planned to target Hiruzen. Their interests had never directly clashed before.
But if Hiruzen was going to stand in his way—then he would be eliminated, just like Danzo.
The Hokage's expression remained resolute.
"As the leader of this village, I will not allow you to harm its officials and people without reason."
His voice was firm, unwavering.
"You have lost your way, Uchiha Shin. You no longer uphold the Will of Fire. If you surrender now, I will show you mercy."
Danzo was his enforcer, his shadow. More than that, he was his comrade, his childhood friend.
He would not allow Shin to execute Danzo in cold blood.
If he permitted such defiance, what authority would he have left as Hokage?
Shin's Sharingan spun, his killing intent surging.
"Since you insist on standing in my way, you might as well die. Enough of your nonsense."
At that moment, the elites of Konoha arrived.
Jiraiya. Orochimaru. Tsunade. The strongest of the village had assembled.
Their eyes darted between Shin, Hiruzen, and Danzo, their expressions filled with confusion.
Tsunade, in particular, looked especially bewildered.
" Shin, why the hell are you fighting them?"
Just a short while ago, she had been treating injured Uchiha civilians. Now, she was witnessing Shin locked in battle with the Hokage and Danzo.
She almost thought she had misheard the news.
The others remained cautious, waiting for an explanation.
Shin crossed his arms, unfazed by their scrutiny.
"For various reasons," he said flatly. "Mainly, I want to kill Danzo. And this old bastard is standing in my way."
Sarutobi Hiruzen stepped forward, his voice sharp.
"You should at least provide a reason. Why do you want Danzo dead?"
Hiruzen knew exactly what kind of man Danzo was. But he also knew how to cover up his actions. He was confident Shin had no tangible proof to back up his accusations.
By taking the moral high ground, he forced Shin to justify his actions.
The crowd turned to Shin, waiting for his answer.
Shin slowly scanned the faces before him, his Sharingan gleaming with amusement.
"A reason?" he echoed, tilting his head.
His smirk widened into a chilling grin.
"He's ugly and disgusting. Can't I just kill him because I want to?"
Silence.
Danzo's eye twitched.
Hiruzen stiffened.
The entire gathering was stunned.
Even Danzo, a man who prided himself on deception and assassination, found himself at a loss.
"Are you… fucking insane?" he finally blurted.
Shouldn't Shin have accused him of sending assassins?
Shouldn't he have called out his past crimes?
Danzo had already prepared excuses for those.
But this?
For the first time in his life, Danzo had no idea how to respond.
