Chapter 44 - Chapter 17: Disposing of the Treasure

John returned to Kame House in the afternoon, and there was no one around. The house was quiet, with everyone presumably taking a nap after lunch.

John was hungry, having only eaten a little in the morning, so he went to the kitchen and prepared a hearty meal for himself.

It wasn't an elaborate meal, but it was filling. In no time, John had prepared a table full of food, and by the time Master Roshi and the others woke up from their nap, he was already feasting.

Master Roshi, upon seeing John eating at the table, was surprised. He went to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator, only to find that all the food was gone, except for some condiments.

Master Roshi walked over to the table and looked at John with dissatisfaction. "You were supposed to go to Karin Tower. Why did you come back here and eat all our food for a week?"

John took out a diamond the size of a fist from his pocket and handed it to Master Roshi. "Master Roshi, this should cover the cost of the food."

Master Roshi was delighted to receive such a large diamond from his best disciple and said, "You're too kind. As your teacher, I can't refuse to feed you."

John continued eating until he finished all the food on the table.

He then took out the Three-Star Dragon Ball he had found near the pirate base and gave it to Master Roshi. "Master Roshi, I found this Three-Star Dragon Ball in the nearby ocean. If Goku needs it, you can give it to him. Otherwise, you can keep it for safekeeping."

After finishing his meal and delivering the Dragon Ball, John decided it was time to continue his training at Karin Tower.

However, before leaving, he felt it was necessary to store the treasure he had collected from the pirates.

John changed the course of his plane and returned to the West Capital.

He didn't plan to sell the treasure to anyone else but intended to sell it directly to Bulma.

John landed his plane in Bulma's large courtyard, and Bulma, who was about to leave, saw him and asked, "Where have you been? I thought you went out to train. Why are you back?"

As Bulma approached John's plane, she noticed the gems, jewelry, gold and silver coins, gold and silver bars, and other treasures inside.

Bulma's eyes lit up with excitement, and she asked, "John, did you rob a jewelry store? How did you get all these treasures?"

"Not just that," John said, taking out the submarine capsule and releasing the submarine.

Bulma opened the submarine's hatch and saw that it was filled with jewelry, gold and silver bars, and other valuables.

Impressed, Bulma said, "John, you must have robbed a large jewelry store!"

John laughed and said, "I didn't rob any jewelry store. I found a pirate treasure, and these are what I retrieved from it."

Bulma, feeling envious, said, "You're so lucky!"

"But I didn't bring these treasures to show off to you," John said. "I know you wouldn't be jealous or envious. These treasures are nothing to you."

John continued, "Bulma, I want to sell these pirate treasures to you. When your sisters come to visit, you can show them off and tell them that you found these treasures during your adventures."

"I'm sure they'll be jealous and envious of you!" John understood the psychology of these girls very well.

Their sisterly love was nothing more than a desire to have someone praise them when they had something good.

Bulma was tempted by John's suggestion and carefully examined the treasures. Finally, she said, "John, we're friends. I won't take advantage of you. I'll give you one hundred million Zeni for these pirate treasures. How does that sound?"

"Deal!" John agreed immediately.

Bulma's offer was fair, and it even exceeded the value of the treasures. But since they were friends, she was willing to pay a little extra to make them both happy.

After finalizing the transaction, Bulma arranged for her robots to transport the treasures to her collection room. She then took John to handle the transfer of funds, and soon, one hundred million Zeni was deposited into John's account.

John made a secondary card for himself and handed the primary card to Bulma. Bulma was puzzled by John's actions and looked at him questioningly.

John, feeling embarrassed, said, "Bulma, you know I'm not good at anything except martial arts."

"And you know how big my appetite is," John continued. "If I really let loose and eat, it would cost several million Zeni. This one hundred million Zeni will only last me a couple of hundred meals."

"So, I was wondering if you could help me manage my finances so I don't starve to death when I run out of money," John added.

Bulma immediately recalled the scene from the World Martial Arts Tournament, where John and Goku had devoured food at the restaurant. She realized that with John's appetite, only a wealthy family like hers could afford to feed him.

So, Bulma took John's bank card and said, "Alright, I'll help you manage your finances, but I have to be clear. If I lose money, don't blame me!" Although Bulma was confident in her financial skills and didn't think she would lose money, she wanted to make it clear.

John, however, didn't seem concerned. He said, "It's fine if you lose money. It's not like I earned this money anyway."

John's words were sincere, and he didn't show any signs of worry or hesitation. So, Bulma nodded and said, "Don't worry, I won't let you lose money. If there's any profit, it's yours. With the amount of money you have, it's hard for me to lose it."

After settling the matter of the one hundred million Zeni, John returned to his home. He dug a large hole in his backyard, wrapped the six treasure storage capsules in oil paper, and buried them in his yard.

John planned to have Android 18 help him manage the six container-sized boxes of pirate treasure when they were together in the future. He believed that she would be delighted to do so.
