After settling the matter of the pirate treasure, John flew towards the Holy Land of Karin, where Karin Tower was located.
Karin Tower was situated in the dense northern forests, inhabited by a group of Indians who lived in isolation from the outside world. The thick forests provided natural protection for their land.
John flew his plane swiftly towards the northern forests and continued deeper into the wilderness for about an hour before spotting the white tower standing tall in the center of the forest in the moonlight.
John flew for another hour after spotting Karin Tower and finally landed his plane at the base of the tower.
As John transformed his plane back into a capsule and stepped out, a tent nearby opened, and a burly Indian man emerged, followed by a young Indian boy.
The burly Indian man asked, "Who are you, and why have you trespassed on the Holy Land of Karin? Stranger, this is not a place for you."
John respectfully bowed to the Indian man and introduced himself, "Greetings, guardian. I am a martial artist, and I have come to challenge Karin Tower."
The guardian was taken aback and asked in disbelief, "You want to challenge Karin Tower? Are you sure? Do you know how difficult it is to climb Karin Tower? Do you know how many people in history have succeeded?"
John nodded and said, "I am aware of the challenges, but I am determined to climb it. I don't know how many people have climbed it in history, but I know that someone managed to do so about 300 years ago."
Seeing John's determination, the guardian, named Bora, no longer tried to dissuade him. Instead, he asked, "When do you plan to start climbing Karin Tower? Now?"
John shook his head and replied, "I'll start tomorrow morning after a good breakfast. I don't know how long it will take, and I need to make some preparations."
Bora held John in high regard, as anyone who came to challenge Karin Tower was considered a strong martial artist. As long as they didn't offend the hermit, Bora would treat them with hospitality.
Bora invited John to join them for dinner, but John politely declined, saying, "Thank you for your kind invitation, but my appetite is quite large. The food you have here won't be enough for me. Please wait for a moment while I go into the forest to find something to eat."
John then ventured into the depths of the forest and returned with two giant bucks slung over his shoulders. Bora was shocked by John's actions, as he was against humans' greedy nature of taking more from nature than they needed.
Bora furrowed his brows and said to John, "Is your appetite really that big? Was it necessary to kill two bucks?"
John was taken aback by Bora's sudden anger and realized that it was because of the two bucks he had killed.
John explained, "These two bucks are just enough for my appetite. You'll understand once you see me eat."
Bora still found it hard to believe, as one buck alone weighed over 200 kilograms. He couldn't imagine how John, who wasn't as muscular as him, could eat even one buck, let alone two.
John didn't offer further explanations and instead began preparing the bucks for cooking over the campfire.
John's cooking skills were impressive, and the aroma of the seasoned meat filled the air.
Once the meat was fully cooked, John began to eat, and Bora and Upa were stunned by what they witnessed. John's eating speed and capacity were truly astonishing, as he devoured both bucks within half an hour.
After finishing his meal, John burped contentedly and looked up to see Bora and Upa staring at him in awe. John smiled awkwardly and said, "Did I scare you?"
Bora gave John a thumbs up and said admiringly, "You are truly remarkable. I believe you will definitely reach the top of Karin Tower tomorrow."
Although Bora didn't fully understand the connection between eating and climbing Karin Tower, he was impressed by John's abilities.
The next morning, John prepared a hearty breakfast for himself and packed some dry rations before bidding farewell to Bora and Upa. He then began his ascent up Karin Tower.
John climbed with agility, like a nimble cat, quickly disappearing into the clouds as he ascended.
Upa looked up at his father and asked, "Dad, will he make it?"
Bora smiled and replied, "He will definitely make it. I can see that he is a strong warrior."
"Is he stronger than you, Dad?" Upa asked.
"Of course," Bora replied, hugging Upa. "He is much stronger than me."
Half a day passed, and John felt his energy gradually depleting. He looked up but couldn't see the top of Karin Tower, which was still hidden in the clouds.
The white clouds surrounded the milky white tower, making John feel like he was in a fairyland.
John took a short break and ate some of the dry rations he had prepared. Then, he continued climbing at a steady pace.
This time, John didn't push himself to climb as fast as possible. Instead, he maintained a consistent speed, similar to running a 100-meter race, which requires explosive speed, while a 100-meter race focuses on endurance and the ability to keep going.
John had initially thought that he could reach the top of Karin Tower in half a day, but he had underestimated the tower's height.
As the sun slowly set and the moon gradually rose, John finally reached the top of Karin Tower, a large circular platform.
