"We discussed needing a plan to give them a warning. That warning needs to happen immediately." The PM stated. "What kind of statement did you have in mind, Sir. Political or military?" asked the Commander. "We need something that will shock them, but not escalate into a civil war." Replied the PM. "Sirs" Evan began hesitantly. "Yes, Midshipman" prompted the Commander. "Hermione might be able to help on this, sir. Since her revelation that she was magical, she told me one of the subjects she studied was History of Magic. She might be able to help." He replied. "How fast can you get her here" asked the PM. "Safely" added the Commander. "Let's find out." Evan stated. He pulled out a pocket watch, flipped open the lid and called out "Hermione Granger". A second later they could all hear a response "Evan! Hey. I thought you were meeting with the Commander?" She asked. "I am. I am with the Prime Minister as well, Hermione." "Oh! My. Why are you calling in the middle of your meeting?" she asked. "We really need your help. Perhaps if I put this in the middle of the table it would work better. Hermione, as I mentioned, I am with the Commander, the PM, and General Black. We are in a secure location. They have a political question I thought you might be able to answer for them. Is that OK? Since everyone here knows about the Magicals, it shouldn't be a breach of the Statute of Secrecy thing, right?" "Yes, Evan, that is correct. What question did they have?" Hermione asked.
"Hermione. Miss Granger. This is Prime Minister John Majors." Began the PM. "Good morning Prime Minister" replied Hermione. "Are you aware of Minister Fudge's recent directives in regards to yourself and your parents?" he asked. "Yes, sir" Hermione replied. "And are you aware of what the Aurors, sent to your house, were directed to do if any responders were encountered?" asked the PM. "Yes, sir" she replied. "Initially, we thought a display of might, might be enough of a warning, but Minister Fudge basically blew us off. We need something that will shock them, but not escalate into a civil war." Replied the PM. "Can you think of something?" he asked her. "Give me a second. Sir, let me check something out in my history book and get back to you in a few minutes. Have you asked the Queen's Wizard?" Hermione asked. "The Queen's Wizard? I had no idea there was a Queen's Wizard." Replied the PM. "I remember when I read up on the Magna Carta, that is what I wanted to checkup on a few seconds ago – anyway, the original Magna Carta was created by King John in June 1215. There were several amendments issued, the last one in 1225. One of the tenants of the Magna Carta agreement of 1225 included the separation of the Wizarding World from the non-magical world. Under that tenant was the requirement of a Kings (or Queens) Wizard, who would advise the Royals in regards to the Wizarding World. Of special interest here, I believe, are the conditions the Wizarding World must maintain if the magical Magna Carta of 1225 is to remain in effect. Here it is – in the event these conditions are violated, the Crown can dissolve the magical Magna Carta, which would result in the dismantling of the Wizengamont and refolding of the wizarding world back into the non-magical world. These conditions include 'wanton acts of violence against the non-magical citizens, treason against the Crown, and violation of civil liberties recognized under the Crown's law'. I believe you have a case of violation against all three of these conditions, sir." Hermione said.
"I believe, Miss Granger, you have hit the proverbial nail on the head" said the PM. "You wouldn't happen to be free for a summer internship, would you?" he asked. "In any case Miss Granger, we greatly thank you. I will talk with the Queen to discuss both her Queen's Wizard as well as the Magna Carta. Thank you again and good day." He concluded. "Thanks, Hermione. I'll talk to you later. Bye" Evan said into the watch, and then closed it and put it back into his pocket.
"A nifty thing, that pocket watch communicator you have there Midshipman. Visited Q have you?" asked the General, with humor in his voice. "Q sir?" asked Evan. "You know, Q, from James Bond?" responded the General. "Ohhhh. No sir. This is something Hermione made for me. It is nifty – Apparently it works just about everywhere so far" Evan replied. "Think she can make one for us to contact you, in case of emergencies of course" asked the Commander. "I believe she can, sir. Actually, I already asked after our last discussion." Evan replied.
