" We are losing her," the doctor snapped.
The monitor was screaming now. Numbers were dropping. Beeps speeding. Then…. too slow.
" BP's crashing" someone shouted.
" Come on, Mina. You can do this." The doctor exclaimed.
The room became tense, they had the blood but she wasn't responding. The monitor wasn't showing her heartbeat, there was a flatline on it.
" We need more blood," the doctor said.
" But, Dr. Francis is also in a critical condition"
" Find someone. We can't lose her. She is with Mr. Vertecio. If we lose her, we lose our lives."
The room became heavy with tension.
Her lips were pale. Her breath ragging. Skin clummy.
Blood pressure: dropping
Oxygen: plummeting
Heart rate: erratic.
Nurses dashed out to look for blood in the blood bank.
Naarah and Aaron were stupefied at what was happening.
No one stopped to tell them what was going on and they looked scared like hell. It was like they were avoiding them.
" What is going on?" Naarah ask for herself.
She glanced at Aaron who was on his feet. He had a quizzical expression on his face.
He rushed to one nurse who had just gotten out of the ER.
He held her wrist before she could flee to wherever she was going.
" What is going on? Aaron growled.
He shot her with a bloodshot eye. Her expression goes white. She looked at him with her eyes popping out.
" Mr. Vetercio, I need to go."
" Tell me what is going on. Why are all of you panicking?
The nurse tried to step back but her wrist was held tightly.
Aaron's grip tightened. His jaw clenched and his body was trembling.
" We are losing her and we need more, more blood." the nurse stuttered.
Aaron let go of his grip on her and took a step back slowly.
" What do you mean you're losing her?" he asked swallowing the lump in his throat.
" Her heartbeat is erratic and her breathing is shallow."
" THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!" Aaron yelled.
He stumbled backwards, and his guards rushed towards him.
" Mina….no, please don't do this to us." Naarah cried.
Aaron clenched his shirt, and his hands were trembling.
" They can't lose her. They just need more blood and that's all. We can save her. Yes more blood." he said to himself.
He looked at the nurse who was stuck, she couldn't move. Her feet refused to move. Her instincts screamed at her but she couldn't move.
