Chapter 148 - Is that a green smurf?

A few days later.

Peter and I were out on one of our vigilante dates.

Well, technically we were out in the city—but still lounging on a big, comfy sofa.

"Babe, this ship is really comfortable," he said, relaxing while holding me close.

I smiled at him and glanced around.

The interior of the ship was bathed in bluish, purple, and green tones, giving it a futuristic and alien feel.

It even seemed to react to our compliments, extending a small chair and moving it as if trying to express its appreciation.

"Yes, dear, you're amazing," I said with a chuckle.

The ship was indeed full of useful features—high speed, excellent stealth, decent weaponry, adaptive systems, and it was incredibly easy to control, given its organic and semi-living nature.

And I made it even better.

I had slowly inscribed numerous seals, enchantments, and even some new magical runes I'd learned, mixing them in a unique and creative way. Most of them remained well-hidden.

The primary focus was increasing durability—especially against magical and energy attacks—and enhancing its stealth capabilities.

At this point, its camouflage was so strong that even powerful magical sensors and sorcerers would have a hard time detecting it, let alone standard radar systems.

I didn't have as many ways to enhance its offensive capabilities, but I did manage to improve its main energy weapon—boosting both power concentration and penetration.

Of course, comfort was also a priority.

I equipped the interior with soft, cozy items to make it even more relaxing. I added enchantments that maintained a comfortable atmosphere and temperature.

Some of the seals were powerful Uzumaki seals—great rewards.

Though I didn't get the one I truly wanted—the Flying Raijin seal. That teleportation technique would have massively increased my combat speed and mobility, while also helping me study and manipulate spatial laws.

Something I've already been working on, combining my HP-style witchcraft, Naruto's space-time seals, my divine Kai Kai power, and internal energy-based teleportation spells.

Luckily, I gained good Karma points after helping Hulk, and with a few more, I should be able to purchase that seal.

In the meantime, I prepared more scrolls, studied more seals, spells, enchantments, and magical runes—and even applied some of those seals directly to my body for quicker use.

As the ship floated between buildings, I brought it to a stop.

I raised my right hand, and a control panel formed in front of me.

"Head in that direction," I sent a mental command. The ship responded in Martian language and followed through.

Soon, we were hovering above a scene.

"Babe, three vandals—knives and a few small weapons. Want to handle it?"

I asked, and Peter nodded.

With a command, the ship opened a hole beneath him, and he dropped straight down.

The ship's radar and sensory systems were excellent, and I still used my bees to gather information.

Besides operating around Queens and nearby areas, we had expanded our vigilante work to other regions—both high-crime zones and peaceful ones.

I stayed relaxed inside the ship, only occasionally going down to deal with criminals.

While Peter was handling a group of shoplifters, I was meditating—focusing on controlling my mental power and strength—when I heard a loud laugh.

I immediately stood up.

"Ship, what was that?"

A projection appeared right away.

A fully green, muscular figure showed up on the screen, wearing a strange purple outfit. He was riding some sort of flying platform, with bombs and various gadgets all over his body—some resembling Halloween props.

I subtly adjusted the ship's position—he clearly hadn't noticed us.

I ordered the ship to retreat slightly and opened an exit on the side.

With wind energy swirling around me, I flew out and watched as the figure began attacking Peter.

"Spider-Man!! You'll pay for your sins!"

Hearing that made me angry, but I held back. Peter needed to fight his own battles.

I carefully observed the fight… that strange goblin-like aura around the man—it felt familiar, like something or someone I'd encountered before. But I couldn't quite place it.

Then, when he launched a large bomb that Peter wouldn't be able to dodge in time, my hand moved on instinct.

The bomb froze in mid-air.

With a calm flick of my hand, I sent it spinning back at the enemy—faster than it came.

Using force manipulation, I redirected the attack.

He quickly retreated, boosted by his equipment, dodging the incoming energy.

I raised my right hand, forming a blue magic circle.

"Ice Make: Spears."

Massive ice spears formed and flew toward him, but he used one of his ship's weapons to destroy them.

With another motion, I conjured wind arrows and launched them.

This time, he shifted his vehicle to the side and dodged them.

But that was just a distraction.

He didn't see the powerful kick coming—Peter landed it square on his face, sending him crashing into the street below.

Peter landed nearby, and I slowly approached from the other side of the street.

"Who are you? And why did you attack me?" Peter asked, clearly on guard.

I kept watching carefully, my eyes glowing with mental energy as I focused on that strange, familiar aura.

Then my pupils widened.

"Mr. Osborn—" I started murmuring, but didn't finish.

A huge cloud of gas burst from his equipment.

I acted instantly—using my left hand, I controlled a surge of natural wind energy.

With my right, I drew my wand and cast wind-based spells, stopping the gas from reaching Peter or me.

I gathered a small sample in a vial and used a fire spell to burn the rest. It didn't seem toxic, but better safe than sorry.

By the time the smoke cleared, the man had already escaped.

"Spider-Man, we need to talk," I said seriously.

He nodded, and a door appeared beside us. I had already sent the command—the ship had descended.

We entered, and I flew us high into the sky as we began our discussion…

"Was that really Uncle Osborn?"

Peter asked in shock.

I nodded.

"Most likely. So… how do you want to handle it?"

He paused, thinking.

"I'll investigate first, babe. You always have a lot going on, so I'll focus on understanding what's going on here."

I wanted to tell him it was fine and that I'd help—but my phone buzzed.

I frowned and checked it. It was a message from Mr. Fury:

I thought for a moment and replied:

After sending the message, I looked at my boyfriend.

"Okay. But let me know if you need anything. I might need to take a trip soon. For now—how about we end our vigilante shift with a movie and popcorn?"

He agreed with a smile.

Without delay, we stopped somewhere safe. I returned the ship to my pet-space and used Kai Kai to teleport us elsewhere.

At a famous clown-themed burger joint,

I sat alone, eating a giant burger with fries and a cold soda.

The place was empty except for me.

"How's it going on your end?"

A voice made me look up.

A man with an eyepatch, wearing a long coat and a gray hoodie, sat across from me casually.

"I'm good. I even ordered your favorite," I said, pointing to the food in front of him.

"Mmm. Now that's service," he replied, taking a big bite.

I smiled, and with trained speed, formed some hand signs and a spell gesture—an isolation barrier surrounded us.

"Well, Mr. Fury. What can I help you with?"

He grinned and took a long sip of soda, then pulled out a small tablet.

I flipped through the pages, finding very interesting information.

Especially when I came across a large tropical region—and, most shocking of all, a being that shouldn't even exist on Earth… at least, not in this era.

"This place is real?" I asked, eyes narrowing.

"Yes. Recently discovered. But it's complicated. We want you to investigate it."

I took a long drink and ate two fries.

"Why me?"

He took the tablet back, swiped through a few more images—data, photos...
