"Leave us," he said to the two. "Me and my father need to have a little heart to heart talk."
Without question, Henry and Robert walked out, closing the door behind them.
Silence fell. The only sound was the ticking of the grandfather clock in the corner.
Ezra walked around the desk, stopping a few feet from Harvard.
"She doesn't love you," he said plainly.
Harvard's jaw tightened. "Watch it."
"No," Ezra snapped. "It's time someone said it to your face. Carly was my assistant before she ever batted her lashes at you. We were... involved. Nothing serious. No promises. But she got the wrong idea. She wanted more. And when she realized I didn't… couldn't love her, she turned her attention to you."
He scoffed bitterly. "She thought that using you would make me jealous. That I'd come crawling back."
Harvard stared at him in disbelief.
Ezra took a step closer. "She's obsessed. And now, she's hurting the one woman I care about."
"Shut up," Harvard growled.
