Chapter 210 - Convincing Vegapunk

'So, this is how it feels to move around inside a bubble.'

Liam thought to himself while looking at the bubble around him. He didn't move because that could potentially burst open this bubble.

Although he was sure that it could handle his power if he didn't use Haki. He still didn't want to take any risks.

Two Days Later;

Pop!

The bubble popped open, and Liam landed on the ground. He was waiting for this. When he landed, he quickly checked his surroundings.

He realized Kuma was able to teleport him inside the Egghead island with his powers even though this island was surrounded by a powerful defensive mechanism.

'He must have known a bug. After all, this is the weakness of many technologies. Now, let's see where Vegapunk is.'

He turned around and rushed toward one of the houses. He used Soru to jump on top of the house and glanced at the Punk Record cloud.

It was his destination, but he wasn't in a hurry to go there.

'Wait a minute, is that Aokiji? Wow! What a coincidence.'

Liam was genuinely surprised.

Because his plan to meet Vegapunk was only possible due to Kuma. On the other hand, he had told Aokiji to meet Vegapunk a long time ago.

So, he believed either Aokiji completely ignored his advice, or he had already met him.

It turned out Aokiji was late for some reason.

'It must be due to Blackbeard and Ace. Sengoku must have called them to make a plan for Ace's execution.'

'Wait, since he is going to meet Vegapunk, why don't I just follow him?'

If it were normal Liam, that would've been impossible. Aokiji was an admiral. It wasn't possible to follow someone with an Observation Haki as good as Aokiji.

But Liam also had skills from Lucci. And Lucci was a master assassin who could hide anywhere.

With Lucci's skill and his current strength, he should be able to follow Aokiji quietly.

As he followed Aokiji, he noticed several of the world government agents walking out of the main building.

It was the work of Aokiji that made him excited.

Because this way, he could talk to Vegapunk about anything without the fear of leaking information to the world government.

As he followed Aokiji, he noticed Aokiji had entered a secret room, but he couldn't follow him closely.

He didn't even dare release his observation haki; otherwise, it could trigger a reaction from Aokiji's haki.

So, he waited until they locked the door.

This door would've been impossible to unlock if it were any ordinary person.

But not only did Liam have the skills from Lucci, he also knew coding.

So, he easily managed to bypass the security on the door and opened it. Just when he opened, he heard Kuzan saying.

"I won't let them do that. I can't let them do that. That boy might have been a pirate, but he is right about one thing. Only marines can save the lives of ordinary people."

"Even if those guys are good people, they are pirates, scum of the seas. If we let some pirates save the world, how can the Justice of the Marine be preserved?"

A big smile appeared on Liam's face as he walked in while clapping his hands.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

"You are right, Kuzan. Except for very few pirates, every single pirate in the sea is a scum. So, the world shouldn't be saved by the pirates. Because that will lead to more chaos."

"Nice sound insulation, Vegapunk."

"Who are you?" Vegapunk didn't recognize Liam. But Kuzan easily did. He almost stood up and prepared his Devil Fruit powers to attack.

"Woah! Woah! I am not here to fight, Kuzan. Can I call you Kuzan?"

Kuzan didn't let down his guard because he still hadn't figured out Liam. He asked.

"When did you get here, Liam?"

"Just when you came here. Don't worry, I wasn't tailing you. It was a coincidence." Liam replied with a smile.

"Wait, you are Liam, the Vice Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. How did you come here?" Vegapunk asked curiously.

"Someone helped me enter the island. Don't worry, doctor, your defenses are still working."

Liam spoke while walking toward another corner. He saw a small device on top of the table.

"Is the Light Saber?" He said while picking it up.

"I call it Beam Saber," Vegapunk replied.

"Well, you don't have to worry about copyrights here." Liam chuckled while turning on the Beam Saber.

"Wow! It's quite good. Light and sharp."

Liam said while swinging the saber.

"It seems like you also got a new weapon."

Kuzan spoke. His eyes were on Liam's waist, which had a new scabbard and a sword.

"Yeah, I got it from Moria. One of the Twenty-One Great Grade Swords, 'Shusui', and also a Black Blade. My old sword got destroyed during my battle with Kaido."

"Man, I can't believe how far I was from you monsters in terms of strength. It was only after fighting Kaido that I realized how ridiculous my previous thoughts were."

Liam calmly replied while putting down the Beam Saber and showing him the Shusui.

He pointed the sword at Vegapunk and asked.

"Tell me, Vegapunk, if I kill you here, will it save the lives of those ordinary people from Lulusia Kingdom?"

Kuzan almost released his ice powers while Vegapunk asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, if I kill you before you invent Mother Flame and give it to the World Government, will it save the lives of those people?"

Liam asked once again.

Kuzan paused for a moment. Now, he could see that Liam was simply teasing Vegapunk, but his words did make him curious.

He looked at Vegapunk and asked.

"Is that a weapon of mass destruction?"

"No!"

Both Liam and Vegapunk replied at the same time. They looked at each other before Vegapunk continued.

"Mother Flame is an alternative source of limitless energy that can replace Undying Flame. It is not a weapon of destruction. It is the future. A future where we won't ever lack energy."

Vegapunk replied with a serious expression.

"That's why I won't kill you."

Liam put back the sword and continued.

"If you were someone like Caesar, I would've killed you the moment I entered this room. But you are still problematic. Let me tell you a story."

"We are not here for a story." Kuzan shook his hand and replied.

"Don't worry, just listen to this story. There was a young boy who was born in one of the richest families in the world. He was the son of a scientist and a businessman."

At the age of four, he built a circuit board and engine at the age of six. Because of his genius mind, he was capable of creating weapons of mass destruction."

"And, he did so. After all, he was a businessman, and his industry relied on those weapons to grow. But he had a policy that he would only sell his weapons to the government."

"What he didn't know was that his uncle, who was second second-highest shareholder of the company, was selling his weapons to terrorists."

"And, when he reached a certain age where his position in the company was hindering his uncle, he was assassinated. Fortunately, he survived due to a certain condition."

"This is you, Vegapunk. You are a golden goose that the world Government is willing to raise until you run out of golden eggs. Do you even understand the importance of Mother Flame to the World Government before creating it?"

Vegapunk didn't know what to say. After all, he did create this to benefit the world, not the World Government.

"But I know how bad World Government is. I won't hand it over to them."

"Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!"

Liam shook his head and stared at Vegapunk with pity.

"Despite all that knowledge, you still don't understand yourself or even humanity."

"You, me, Kuzan, or anyone in this world hates the Celestial Dragon. Even those from the Marines, like Akainu, don't like the Celestial Dragon. We hate them."

"But, we also want to be like them."

"Impossible!" Kuzan spoke instantly.

"Yeah, I won't be someone like them." Vegapunk shook his head and replied.

"Is it what your mind is telling you? Or, is it simply because you have that reasoning in your mind?"

Liam asked.

Seeing them slowing down to answer, Liam replied.

"Maybe there are some people who have absolutely no interest in becoming a Celestial Dragon. Luffy can be one of them."

"He wants ultimate freedom, but even a Celestial Dragon can't have ultimate freedom. Because if they attack another celestial dragon, they will be punished by the Holy Knights."

"But, the majority of people would accept the identity of Celestial Dragon without any hesitation. A minority of people like you won't become Celestial Dragon."

"Because you have seen just how worse they can be. So, you don't want to be someone like them."

"Unfortunately, Vegapunk, you will no longer be that minority."
