Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 How to quickly earn a small goal

Levis was amused as he watched the two villains kneeling before him, repeatedly making the sign of the cross on their chests.

It truly was a characteristic of the United States; no matter how evil a person was, it didn't prevent him from believing in God.

Unfortunately, Levis didn't like God, nor would he impersonate him. He completely disregarded the repeated exclamations of "God" in his ears and, looking at the two villains, said, "I am not God, nor am Angel. I just need you to answer my questions obediently!

Upon hearing this, the two villains' intelligence finally came back online, and they opened their eyes to look up at Levis.

While the pure White wings were certainly eye-catching, the black suit and tuxedo, paired with a small black top hat, especially the masked face revealed beneath the hat, immediately convinced them that this was definitely not an Angel.

What Angel would have a face like that—a terrifying "V for Vendetta" mask!

Yes, Levis hadn't expected the person he possessed to actually have such a mask, but it did look quite good, and it was convenient for him.

"Answer my questions!"

Levis's muffled tone brought the two villains out of their fright. The one holding the knife immediately became emboldened by desperation, a ferocious look on his face, and he suddenly stood up, stabbing at Levis.

Levis's heart jolted, then he flapped his wings, instantly gaining altitude to dodge the attack.

Once safe, Levis looked at the guy below who had almost made him lose his first blood, and finally got angry.

"Looks like you still haven't figured out the situation!"

With that, Levis, floating in mid-air, had a thought, and the wings on his back trembled slightly.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Rapid whooshing sounds echoed incessantly as large White feathers transformed into streaks of meteors, shooting towards the knife-wielding villain.

The speed of the flying feathers was almost comparable to bullets, making it impossible for the knife-wielding villain to dodge.

In the blink of an eye, countless flying feathers pierced him, even pinning his entire body to the ground, blood gushing out.

Levis didn't admire his masterpiece; instead, he landed in front of the remaining person and continued to ask, "Can you answer my questions now?"

The guy kneeling on the ground had already wet his pants from the gruesome sight of his companion and was speaking incoherently, but none of that mattered; at least he could still answer questions.

"How much money did you just rob?"

"Not… not much, just this, just this." As he spoke, he hastily pulled out all the money from his pockets, fearing that a slight delay would lead him to the same fate as his companion.

Levis took the money and roughly looked at it, not counting, but most of it was 10-dollar bills, with almost no hundred-dollar ones, estimating it to be only a few hundred dollars.

But even a mosquito's leg is meat, and Leviswasn't picky, especially since his pockets were cleaner than his face. Moreover, this haul brought in at least a few hundred dollars, tax-free, how comfortable!

Yes, you heard right, with a car and a house, Levisthought it was a heaven-sent start, but in reality, he was a pauper.

His parents had a car accident, not only without insurance, but they didn't even have money for inheritance.

The house he lived in now was the only inheritance his parents left behind, oh, and a car that had been in an accident!

But the premise was that Levis had to pay the taxes to legally inherit these assets, otherwise, he would simply be out of luck.

If he still had no money, Levis would have to pack his bags and leave next month.

So Levis was very short on money.

Now he was pondering whether he could continue to pull off a bigger score.

"Answer me, in this area, who is the boss among the thugs?" Levis looked at the terrified villain again.

"It's Mad Dog Mackie; this whole area is his." The villain answered every question without hesitation.

Mad Dog Mackie?

Levis thought for a moment, he hadn't heard that name, probably just a regular thug leader.

Indeed, such a person was most suitable for him to target at this stage, with basically no risk.

After determining his next target, Levis had the remaining villain show him the way; he was going to generate income!

The next morning.

When the first ray of sunlight, carrying a hint of frost, shone into the room through the window, Levis naturally woke up.

Today was his first day in the Marvel Universe, in New York, and he couldn't waste it.

In the bathroom, Levis showered in hot Water, planning his day's schedule.

Last night's harvest was quite good, especially the last one.

Mad Dog Mackie was truly a good person, making outstanding contributions to Levis's income generation.

He contributed over ten thousand U.S. dollars in cash, though the process was a bit bloody, and Levis, doing this for the first time, was still a little unaccustomed to it.

However, Levis believed Mad Dog Mackiewouldn't mind, after all, he was still alive and well!

Being alive is better than anything!

Alive, he could rise again!

Alive, he could continue to generate income for Levis… Ahem, that doesn't count.

In short, last night's harvest was substantial, and Levis temporarily no longer had to worry about being short on cash.

However, thinking about the high inheritance tax, Levis was still a bit annoyed.

After paying taxes, wouldn't this money just make him a pauper again? Did he have to continue generating income tonight?

Although generating income made him happy, Levis still felt it was too low-level.

"I need to figure out a way, preferably one that can make me a small fortune in one go, so I can just lie flat and live my life!"

After a quick shower, tidying up his appearance, Levis took all his belongings and left.

"Good morning, Mrs. Beyoncé!"

"Good morning, Mr. Jayce!"

"Good morning, Neo!"

"Good morning, Mr. Levis!"

Greeting his neighbors familiarly along the way, Levis left the building with a smile on his face.

Standing at the street corner, looking at the towering buildings lining the street and the crowds of pedestrians, Levis decided not to rush the inheritance tax issue for now; he still had a month, so he could wait a bit longer. After all, for him, New York didn't lack ATMs.

Of course, more importantly, now that he was out, he absolutely couldn't be without money.

Walking aimlessly along the street, Levis silently observed everything around him.

It was still 2007, and the United States could be said to be at its peak, and New York was pretty much at its most prosperous. Unlike his previous life, where a certain major Eastern country was rapidly developing, while the old empire across the ocean always remained the same, or even worse than before.

There was no sweet air, no scent of freedom; all Levis smelled was the odor of car oil and pungent perfume.

"Is this a side effect of improved physical fitness?" Levis thought with some annoyance.

Indeed, the improvement in physical fitness had enhanced all of Levis's bodily functions, and his sense of smell was naturally one of them.

However, fortunately, the human body's functions can adapt to the environment, and Levis, who was still at a macroscopic level, quickly adapted.

"Hey, you can't do this!"

"Believe me, this building really is mine!"

"Please, notify your boss, let me meet him, this is a misunderstanding!"

Levis was looking down at the road when a conversation suddenly caught his attention, so he looked up.
