Today is the last day of Phantasia, and our revenge match will start soon. Me and Lunette separate with Big Sister Wave in front of the gate. She looks worried about us as she waves her hand at us. This time, she didn't forget to disguise so she is still unrecognized for now. I don't know if she's planning on something or not, she seems to be hiding something from us. We continued to walk through the gate and met my teammates. There is Leo and Rena waiting for us together in the waiting room.
Rena shouted at us, "Luna! Lunette! You finally come-"
Leo chuckled and spoke to us as well, "You both seem in a great condition, huh?"
We both just nodded at his statement. Rena seems confused and surprised by our appearances right now. Leo just continues giggling like our appearance is something funny. Just laugh if you want! Though, I'm not in the position that I would be able to talk like that.
I sighed a bit and speaks, "It's all Lunette's fault for dragged me like this."
She just smacks my arm lightly and speaks, "Hey! It's not all my fault. There are some of yours too, right?"
We continued our banter for a while, smacking at each other's arms and no one gave in. Our appearances are kinda messy, our hairs are tangled and there are dark circles under our eyes. We're lacking sleep, I can't think straight now. I guess before dealing with Gyrus, we need to deal with our sleepiness first.
Rena speaks with a worried tone, "Are you both alright? How can we defeat him if you guys aren't in your best condition?"
Lunette just speaks in a tired tone, "It's okay, really. We can win easily against him now. Just leave it to us."
Leo speaks up again, "Do you have any plans? Or maybe trained for a whole night?"
I don't know what to say. Yes, we're trained for a whole night. That's why we're lacking sleep right now. The problem is, I don't know if our training will do something or not since we kept losing against Big Sister Wave. Maybe we just wasted our time.
I said to them, "Maybe it will be better if we used our time to think about the strategy. It's too late though."
Lunette spoke again, "That's really too late."
Rena and Leo just chuckles at our statements. Lunette seems to enjoy our light banters and laughs. The situation is very peaceful right now, only if I know Ray and Nio aren't with us. I really hope they can meet up with us right now. Though, that's impossible for now since they're seriously injured.
The bell rings again, signaling that now is the time for Phantasia to almost begin again. We stop our light banters before nodding to each other, preparing ourselves for the last competition. I don't know what the last competition is, but I'll make sure we win this match and get our revenge.
The MC grabs his mic and starts speaking, "Hello, you dumbass!! We're in the final day of Phantasia and the peak of our competition!! Unfortunately, Neon isn't with us, thanks to all of you!! You guys are fools to make her go away like that by surrounding her yesterday!!"
Isn't that too much? Won't they hate him if he said it like that? The audience just cries from their seats and some of them are disappointed with Big Sister Wave gone. Though, I can see clearly with my eyes that she's sitting among the audience with a cap on her head. These people are really weird, did big sister have a lot of impact on them? I can see Lunette, Leo, and Rena giggling besides me. Does Rena know already that Neon is our big sister? Leo looked at me and nodded as if saying, "Yes, she knows." Ugh… Is he reading my mind? That's kind of disgusting.
The MC continued speaking after telling how much he loves our big sister so much, "Fools!! Now, don't close your eyes and focus your damn eyes on the arena!! We have the strongest academy ever in this city, Lionel Academy!!"
Right after he introduced the academy, the crowds started clapping their hands and cheering for it. The Lionel Academy walks into the arena slowly with intimidating vibes. As we know, the intimidating vibe comes from Gyrus. They are strong, that's the reason why they are intimidating. Not only him, but his teammates are strong too. Ugh… I hate that guy very much.
Then, the MC introduced the other academy again, "Then the next one, we have… Tyone Academy!! The standard academy with a fairly good reputation, but still lost against Lionel Academy!! Will they beat them in this competition?!"
We walks to the arena together. But after a few steps, we have Lunette and Leo bickering with each other. I'm not listening to what they bickering about, but I know it must be something dumb. I can't help but embarrassed by my twin's behavior. My eyes are locked into the ground as I try to resist the embarrassment. Not like Lionel Academy that has a strong aura, our academy looks so goofy and unserious. I can see our teacher is just shaking his head in disbelief.
The MC continued, "Fun fact, these two academies were having a bit of conflict yesterday!! If I'm not wrong, Gyrus took the fight too far and almost gave their teammates permanent injuries!! Leo and Lunette pointed their weapons to his neck while Luna and Rena were stopped by the guards!! To be honest, they were almost disqualified from the competition!! But!! Thanks to Neon, they were able to join the competition again!! Thank her, you damn kids!!"
Ugh… Day by day, he's so annoying. Is he trying to insult us or something? And this is the first time about Big Sister Wave that helped us to join the competition again. Maybe she was one of the persons that negotiated to let us join again. I guess we should thank her later. But really, he's so annoying. Can't you watch your mouth a little bit? I can't help but glare at him with a sharp look, and he suddenly stops. Probably he notices my look from here.
Once we reached the arena, Gyrus stares at us with sharp eyes, and so we are. I think we both hate each other. But I don't mind being hated by a person that I hate as well. I swear to beat him today.
The MC started again by introducing the last academy that participated in the last competition, "And the last!! We have Redione Academy that enters the arena!! They are quite superior!! They were the second choice academy after Lionel Academy!! They've been their rival for years, will they take the first position this year?!"
Redone? This is the first time I heard they enter the final competition. Who did they win against? Maybe there are a lot of things that happened yesterday so I didn't notice it. Well, our main goal is Gyrus so I don't care about anything else.
The MC started again, "So, that was the participants of the final competition. And the final competition is 'battle royale'! We will watch them separated from their team and eliminate their enemy's teams!"
Technically, it's a survival game. We're lucky if we're not separated too far from our teammates. No matter how hard it is, the team that regroups first will get a lot of benefits. But, we still need to survive by ourselves until we regroup with our teammates. By the way, how can we play a battle royale in this arena? This arena is too small for a battle royale.
Right after I think about it, the guards put a badge on our left chest. It's probably some kind of name tag. If it was broken, then we'll be eliminated. Such a normal rule. Before we realized it, we were transferred to different places. How? When? I looked around but I was unable to find my teammates. There is no signal or else? Not even a word?
The bell rings and the MC starts again, "The competition begins now!! We have all the participants set on their places!! Let the show begin, you fools!!"
The competition suddenly started before we knew it. Can't he say a word at least? I panicked a bit while looking at my surroundings. I found myself in a mystical forest, the place is covered by unknown plants. Is this real, or is it just some kind of illusion? Once I heard a voice from the bushes, I immediately prepared myself for a fight. There was a girl who came out from the bushes, it was Lunette.
I sigh and speak to her, "Oh, it's you, Lunette. Don't scare me like that."
She just chuckles and rubs the back of her head, "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that. Anyway, let's regroup with the others."
Right, we should regroup with the others. We are at a disadvantage since we only have four of six people in our team. Only if I know we can do nothing about it. We continue to look around us to search for the others. I wonder where they're right now.
I heard someone pull out their weapon from behind and I quickly looked back. The person attacks me from behind and I quickly dodges their attack. Gladly, it's just a small scratch and not broken. I jumped back as I tried to find who's the one that attacked me. I was surprised as I found Lunette having a knife in her hand. What is she thinking?! Wait, she's not Lunette. The pattern in both of her eyes are different. It looks like a rhombus shape with grey color.
I said to her, "Who are you? You're not Lunette."
She chuckled and answered me, "Ah, you got me."
She suddenly changes her appearance to another person. Leo? What's happening here? She, or he, whatever they're, they keep Leo's appearance then start attacking me. Right, a mimic magic. Now I'm confused whether to use "she" or "he". Maybe I should use "they" for now.
They speak to me as they change their appearance to Lunette, "What's wrong? Can't attack your own sibling?"
Ugh.. This is so annoying. Having Lunette talking like that is driving me crazy… or not. I just realized that it's normal for us to fight like this when she causes trouble. It's not a new thing again. Maybe I'll find myself enjoying beating her even if it's just a fake one. She caused many problems for me so she can't complain about this.
They keep attacking me from leg to head. I don't know why but it's pretty difficult to dodge all of their attacks. Their movements keep increasing each time they try to attack me. I'm having a hard time to pulls out my sword from the sheath. Maybe she takes her ability too? That's cheating! It's getting harder to dodge her attacks now. My clothes got slashed slowly. I dodged her their attack but a bit of my hair was cut off. They almost got me there.
They speak up to me, "What's wrong? Maybe you're weaker than your sibling, huh?"
My blood started boiling after I heard what they said. Are they trying to underestimate me? I'm not going to let them underestimate me, not when they compare me with Lunette, even if they use her appearance.
My eyes changed, telling that I'm activating my own magic. She will make them pay for what they said to me. Without any mercy I quickly create a floor from ice around us. I can see the surprised face of them. Well it's quite rare to see Lunette's surprised face. Their legs are trapped and frozen by my ice, yet still trying to break free from it. They grunts and try to break the ice that is trapping their legs. Guess we know who the winner is.
I walk towards them and say, "I guess I'll just have this."
Once I reached in front of them, they just smiled and said, "Poor girl, I guess I still haven't shown you the full potential of my magic, huh?"
What? I was surprised as they created a flame from nowhere to melt the ice. A blue fire, just like Lunette's magic. Is this some kind of joke? I quickly jumped back pretty far from them. Great, now I have the fake Lunette with her real power. They quickly cover their body in flame and walk towards me with a smile on their face.
They speak to me, "Oh her magic is so powerful. I think I know she's pretty strong now. Fire against ice, you know which one will win, right?"
Ugh… Of course I know. Elemental magic is strong but weak depending on the opponent. Is there some kind of weakness in their magic? It's too powerful if they can use it without limitation. Though, their fire isn't as strong as Lunette. They keep throwing a barrage of fireballs at me. I barely dodged all of it so I decided to create a small wall of ice, gathering some information. I continue moving from tree to tree, but the fire keeps spreading through the forest. Our surroundings are devoured by blue flame, and I barely have a place to hide.
They speak to me again, "What's wrong, my twin? Don't have any place to hide anymore?"
Right, in this situation, running away is a bad idea. Come on, my brain, think about something. We are in the mystic forest, and they have Lunette's fire. What can I do? Wait… Why do I think my magic can't win against Lunette's? We're always balanced in a fight. If their magic is weaker against the original one, doesn't it make me able to win more easily than the original one? Then, I show myself and walk towards them with a sword in my hand.
They just smiled at me and said, "Giving up already? I think you're really weaker than your sister."
I can't help but annoyed by what they said and say, "You're just annoying like the original one."
I dashed towards them with my magic still activated. They jump and dodges my attack before I'm able to attack them. Once I look up, I can find no one in the air. I'm quickly searching my surroundings, but I'm still unable to find them. After a few seconds, a barrage of fireballs was thrown at me. I quickly block it with my sword and dodges as much as I can. Some of it burnt my hair a little bit. Damn, they make me remember the day when Lunette burnt my hair as well.
We keep exchanging our magics, throwing against each other. We keep running around in the forest, no one stays in one place even for a second. I form my ice into a star-like throwing weapon against them, and they keep throwing their fire against me. No one is holding back. The fight is getting fiercer each second. Right after the forest burnt by their fire, it quickly became frozen by my magic. This battle is quite strange.
We keep speeding up our pace, running around in the forest as our mana keeps decreasing each magic we use. Mana is the fuel for us to use magic, we can't use magic anymore if we run out of mana. Mana is life itself, if we run out of our mana completely, we will die so we need to make sure if we have enough mana even just a little bit.
No one gets hit by our magic, it's become pointless. It's just wasting our mana like crazy. Right after I think about it, the barrage stops and now becomes uncanny silent. Where are they? I keep searching around the trees carefully. There is no one right here, even I checked my right and left. After a while, I heard a sound from above and they attacked me from above. I quickly dodged their attack and ready my sword again.
"I think we can't just run around and throw magic at each other randomly, can we?" They asked me.
I can't help but notice their exhausted look. Do we run that much? They seem so exhausted with their trembling legs. They look like they will fall anytime in exhaustion. I see. Their magic is draining their mana more than I expected. I think they have disadvantage against a long battle. Should I just defend myself here? I need to save my mana for battle with Gyrus as well though.
They sigh and say, "I think this is the time to end our battle, shall we?"
I nod and answer them, "I think you're right."
They use their mimic magic to change their appearance again, this time she usse… My appearance? How so? They smiled at me and charged towards me to attack. Fine then! I guess I will kick my own butt now!
We wield our weapons and start attacking each other. They have my magic now, we cover our weapons with our magic, or rather my magic. My sword kept clashing against their knife and our magic bounced off everywhere as we kept attacking each other. Our surroundings quickly became frozen since we both used ice magic. The battle is getting fiercer by the time. Their magic isn't as strong as the original, but why are they pretty hard to handle?
After a while, they lost their focus and gave me a chance to attack. We've been fighting for a pretty long time after all, and we used a lot of magic. Without taking much time, I quickly attack their badge on their left chest. They tried to dodge it but they failed so the badge is now broken. They are suddenly eliminated from the competition and disappear from the forest.
The MC's voice heard through all of the area, "Luna has won the battle! She's strong! She eliminated one person from Redione Academy! What kind of battle will she approach next?!"
I see, so they're okay. They just transferred back to the waiting room. Now, everything around me is so silent. I can only hear the voice from waving leaves. As I see my surroundings, I can see almost everything frozen by my ice. Their magic is mimicking me so that's my magic too. That is a copyright if I have to borrow Lunette's words. Let's set the joke aside, I think I'll just find Lunette and the others too.
In the other place, Leo is facing a battle right now. He looks like teleported into a shallow lake area. He's facing one of Lionel Academy's student. Leo just puts a smirk on his face and looks like he's underestimating his enemy.
The student of Lionel Academy speaks, "Greetings, you may call me 'Noir'. I want to challenge you, Leo. I'm curious about your strength, that was Gyrus' partner long ago."
Leo just chuckles and speaks to him again, "Well, then. Noir, may I assume you're his partner right now? I think you have a hard time as well."
Noir seems upset at his words and says, "I see. So/ you don't think his strength isn't strong enough to find the Book of Origin, huh? How rude of you."
Leo answers him back, "No, I think he is quite strong. He might be able to go on a journey to find the book. But, I don't think he will be the one who found the Book of Origin. That's for sure."
Noir speaks back, "Do you really think like that?! Enough!! I will make you understand your place!!"
He charges towards Leo and tries to attack him. Leo is just standing, not even moving an inch as if he's completely underestimating him. Even when Noir gets in front of him, Leo still doesn't move at all. Suddenly, Noir stopped like a frozen picture in the middle of action.
Leo chuckles at him, "I see. Illusion magic. Not an attack type magic, but quite handy. But…"
Leo taps at the illusion of him's forehead and it disappears. He is searching around for him, but there is no sign of him. His movement doesn't make any sound at all like he became one with the background. Then Leo chuckles again and lets his guard down. Noir appears from his back and going to stab him using his spear, but Leo just dodges it like he knows that he will attack him from that direction. Noir seems surprised and swings his spear against him one more time, but Leo blocks it using his knife. The way he blocked it is so natural and easy, like he is playing with a kid.
Noir shouts at him, "How do you know where I attacked you?"
Leo just chuckles and speaks with an underestimating tone, "Just an intuition. Don't be confused."
Noir seemed even more angry at him and said, "Intuition you say!! Don't you dare to use that reason after blocking my attack!!"
Leo just chuckled at him with an annoying smirk at his face. He made Noir pretty upset. His head is heating up each second. Meanwhile, Leo is just mocking him with his annoying smirk. You can imagine it by yourself, you're trying your best but your friend is just goofing around but he's the one who gets all the praise. Just imagine he's looking at you with an annoying smirk like mocking you, looking at you with underestimating eyes. That's how Noir feels right now.
Noir tries to keep himself down, but his smirk is just gonna make him mad even more. His attack is getting fiercer than before and Leo is getting more difficult to dodge every attack that comes from him. Though, his annoying smile is never faltering. He blocks all the attacks that are necessary and dodges all the attacks that he can dodge. His movements are very light like a feather.
He speaks to Noir while continuing dodges all of his attacks, "Are you really his partner? You don't look strong enough though."
Noir who gets angrier shouts at him, "Shut up! Just fight me already!"
Leo chuckles and answers him, "Very well, then. Just allow me to use my magic as well."
The pattern in Leo's eyes changes, his eyes do look like a pentagram. Noir just uses his magic and creates a multiple of his illusions around Leo. Leo scans the area around him to find where the real one is. Though, the illusions are pretty real, even not moving. This time, Leo seems more serious than before. His smile is faltering and ready himself for a proper fight. Noir quickly charges towards him, but Leo blocks it using his magic.
Noir is surprised and some words escape from his mouth, "What the hell?"
His attack was blocked by something flexible. Leo doesn't chuckle this time and just looks at him with sharp, serious eyes. This view is quite rare since we haven't seen him so serious before.
Noir asked Leo with an angry, yet surprised tone, "What is that? Your magic something that is similar to gum?"
Leo shaked his head and answered, "Nope, it's called alchemy. I can change the properties of any objects. I can make them become flexible like what I'm doing to this air. And I can even do this."
He used his magic to make the air become solid and made the spear stuck in the middle of air. Such powerful magic. Noir was surprised by his magic and tried to pull the spear, but he seemed to struggle to pull it since it stuck with something that was beyond the reason. How can you not be surprised? Leo can turn air into something flexible or solid. That makes him almost able to create everything he wants at this point.
Noir releases his spear and starts fighting with his hands and legs. Leo is still having his knife in his hand and continuing to dodge all of his attacks. He tilts his head aside once Noir attacks him right into his face to dodge it, then he strikes his stomach with his knee. Unfortunately, Noir manages to block his attack with his other hand. After blocking his attack, Noir attacks him again with his left knee as well. Leo knocked back by his attack and tried to compose himself.
Right after Leo is ready again, Noir doesn't give him any mercy and quickly attacks him again. He blows a barrage of punches and kicks at him pretty fast. When Leo blocked all of it, Noir used his magic to create some illusions of him again around him to hide himself.
Leo speaks to him with a serious tone, "Running again? You sure never get bored with running, huh?"
Noir answers him still with his anger in his tone out of nowhere, "Shut up! The one who underestimates their enemy is the one who always loses first!"
Leo answers him back, "Are you sure? I'm just underestimating you because there is no way you can beat me. Not a single chance."
Noir just silent after he heard what he said. After a few moments, Noir appears and attacks Leo from his blind spot to beat him. At that time, Leo got stabbed in the chest through his uniform. It seems like he hid the knife from the first place.
Noir laughed after seeing Leo get stabbed and said, "Hahaha! Just like what I said! You're underestimating me too much! Don't worry, it won't kill you. I'll just break your badge while you're unconscious and send you to the waiting room."
When he pulls off his knife, he seems surprised because his knife is broken. On the other hand, Leo just chuckles and gives him a look like asking, "Is that your everything?". So annoying, really. Noir doesn't understand why his knife got broken against Leo's uniform.
Leo continues to chuckle and say, "How is it? My uniform is pretty hard, right?"
Noir got angry and shouted at him, "How?! That's armor, that's cheating!!"
Leo spoke again at him with an underestimating tone, "Of course, not. This is not armor, this is my magic."
Suddenly, Leo's vest turned into a liquid and then became solid again when he used it as a gauntlet in his right hand. His magic is completely beyond the reason. He punches Noir's stomach with his right hand using a gauntlet. His attack is so heavy and the gauntlet is so hard, it doesn't feel like a vest anymore. Noir lets out a grunt of pain as Leo hits him hard enough. The vest is almost as hard as iron, thanks to his magic.
Noir still took the time to say, "What the hell?"
Leo chuckles and speaks in a mocking tone, "Really? After getting a heavy damage you still took the time to say that? Don't you have anything better to do than that?"
Noir just falls onto the ground and grunts in pain, it seems like he was injured pretty seriously. I don't know anymore who's underestimating who now. Leo grabs his collar and lifts him in the air. Noir seems more angry against his treatment, his self esteem has really dropped at this moment.
Leo said to him with a serious face, "Well, please say 'hi' to your teammates for me in the waiting room."
Without waiting anymore, Leo slashed and broke his badge. Immediately, Noir transferred into the waiting room. This match was won by Leo, it seemed like he didn't get any serious injuries. Once he looks back, there are many people approaching him as if trying to eliminate him.
The MC speaks again right after Leo won the battle with an enthusiastic tone, "Leo!! He won the battle against Noir!! I wonder why no one put an eye on him!! He's so strong and his magic is so unbelievable!! And Noir has sended into the waiting room!! But Wait!! There are other students approaching him!! One… Two… No, that's three!! What will he do, he's in danger!!"
Leo smiles and speaks in a calm tone, "Fufufu, and who you might be?"
They continue approaching him together and surrounding him. It's not like they're in the same academy. There are two students from Lionel Academy and one student from Redione Academy. It looks like he's having a hard time soloing the enemy teams. They are battling at each other randomly, some of them keep switching their targets back and forth while protecting themself from the other attack. Leo is alone so he doesn't need to worry to cooperate with the others. But he is at a disadvantage right now even to protect himself.
The battle got intense, Leo tried to defend himself using his magic. He changes his knife into liquid form to attack some of them. Even if it turned into a liquid, his knife was still able to scratch one of persons' cheek. His knife is able to get through his enemy's weapon but still scratch them. It's like grabbing water, almost impossible to block it. Although, they just use their magic to attack each other's teams, including Leo. At this time, Leo is getting serious one more time and uses his magic to make the water become flexible like rubber. They suddenly lose their balance and Leo doesn't give them any chance to compose themself. He immediately charges towards them and eliminates them one by one. After he eliminated all of them, he deactivated his magic so the water turned back to normal again.
The MC shouts again with full energy, "He's so strong!! TOO STRONG!! Who's gonna stop him?! I can't believe Tyone Academy hides someone like him!!"
During that time, Rena seems transferred with Lunette in the same place. She was so unlucky since she was together with Lunette. They were transferred into a grassland. There are only a few trees in their sight. I don't know if they were lucky or not since no one was at their sight.
Rena speaks to Lunette with a worried tone, "Why is there no one around here?"
Lunette just speaks nonchalantly as if it wasn't her problem, "Well, isn't it a good thing? We can save our mana to face Gyrus."
Rena sighs and speaks again to her, "I don't know if I will be useful if we face him."
Lunette looks at her and speaks, "Of course you will. You can be our mental supporter from behind." Then, she sticks out her tongue and close one of her eyes playfully at her.
Rena blushes at her tease and speaks, "Wha- What are you talking about?! Of course I didn't come this way just for entertainment!"
Right after Rena finishes talking, there is a hint of someone's presence.
Rena speaks again with a wary tone, "Lunette, I think we should get read-"
Lunette suddenly charges toward the source of the voice with full speed. Rena got surprised by her sudden action and tried to keep up with her. Rena seems to have a difficult time keeping up her pace with Lunette and she is left behind. While Lunette got in front of her enemy, Rena was attacked by their teammate and both of them were separated. When Lunette notices it, the person attacks her and makes her unable to go to Rena's place.
Lunette shouts at Rena's direction, "Rena!!"
The person keeps holding Lunette with a smirk on her face, completely underestimating her. It seems like the person is from Lionel Academy with her uniform, though she's not Gyrus. Without wasting time, both of them start clashing their swords fiercely. Their uniform got some scratches for each attack even though all of the attacks were dodged and was blocked by them. Seems like they're at the same level, though Lunette won't admit that they're at the same level.
The person activates her magic and creates explosions in her attacks. Every time Lunette blocks her attack the explosion occurs and knocks Lunette back. Maybe their battle will destroy their surroundings without exception, probably it will turn the grassland into wasteland.
Lunette doesn't hold back and uses her magic as well to cover her sword to fight against her enemy's attack. Lunette dodged the attack that almost landed on her face, then she counter the attack towards her chest. Her enemy jumps back to dodge it and both of them stop for a while.
"Hm… You're strong just like I expected, Lunette. May I introduce myself, my name is Nemu." She said as she introduced herself.
Lunette answered back with a smirk on her face, "Lunette. Nice to meet you."
Both of them smiles at each other despite Lunette's worry against Rena. Nemu, who notices the slight chance, immediately dwells her sword at Lunette and tries to strike her. Lunette quickly uses her sword to block her attack again. It was a close one, she almost got hit by her attack.
Lunette speaks while blocking the attack, "Ugh… Just give me some time to worry about my teammate."
Nemu speaks while pushing her sword against Lunette, "This is a battle, though. If you want to worry your teammate just worry her in the waiting room."
Lunette is struggling to block all the attacks from Nemu. Every of their clashes destroy their surroundings due to the explosions. They're so good at destroying everything around them. They jump back and start running around while facing each other. Lunette starts throwing a barrage of fireballs at Nemu while running, but Nemu blocks almost all the attacks of her. The once beautiful grassland is now burnt by blue fire and explosions.
Nemu stops and dash towards Lunette to land a strike at her head. Lunette instinctively ready her sword at her head, but Nemu that predict it suddenly changes her attack into a kick at Lunette's stomach. Lunette uses her magic to blow Nemu at the same time even not strong enough to finish her. Both of them blow away and quickly compose themselves again to prepare for the next attack.
"It seems like we're evenly matched in this fight." Nemu said in an excited tone like she is starting to enjoy it.
Lunette answers her back with a smirk on her face as well, "Maybe no. I think someone between us is a bit stronger than you in some way."
Nemu starts giggling, but she can't resist it any longer so she starts laughing, "Haha! Maybe you're right! How about we find out who it is?"
"Agree." Lunette says while ready her sword and aims at her.
They began to dashes again at each other, clashing their swords, and striking their opponents. Each strike is heavy, they can almost kill a wild animal just in one blow, thanks to their magic. Explosions occurred everywhere their swords clashed and each attack became fiercer and fiercer. The explosions become bigger and stronger by the time, but their mana is also decreasing pretty fast.
Lunette jumps back and does a backflip to dodge Nemu's attack, she takes a long jump behind. She takes a few more distance again until she's pretty far against Nemu, then she ready her sword beside her head. Her blue flame is still covering her sword. The tense is becoming heavier as Lunette focuses her aim in one point. Nemu, who notices how dangerous it is, quickly approaches her in her full speed, but it's too late.
"Etheria Style Sword Technique," she says in a serious tone while dashing towards Nemu's direction with full speed.
Nemu, who surprised by the sudden action of Lunette tries to get out from Lunette's attack direction, but Lunette is already in front of him with her sword aiming at her chest.
Lunette continues her sentences right before she attacks Nemu , "Star Shoot!"
In that short time, Lunette slashed Nemu's badge within a second. It happened so fast, almost no one could see it. Only the experienced persons can see her attack, though if compared to pro she's still nothing. She is standing far behind Nemu that suddenly eliminated and her badge is burnt by Lunette's magic since her sword covered by her blue flame.
Star Shoot is one of the fastest attacks in Etheria Style and one of the sword techniques. It aims at one point and focuses all the damage at it. Once the target is locked, the user dashes towards the direction with high speed like a bullet and slashes it in no time.
"It's not a time to be proud," Lunette says but still having a smirk on her face, completely bragging about herself.
Lunette starts running around and searching for Rena, but she's nowhere to find. She seems worried about Rena… or not. Rena is technically a student of Tyone Academy, of course she can protect herself, right?
On the other hand, Rena, who separated with Lunette is now facing a student from Lionel Academy that was the person who faced Lunette a before. Rena was trapped in a mist that no one can see where she is. Her opponent walks toward her and aims his bow against her. Her view is limited due to the thick mist around them. Everything seems so white and it's hard to see through the mist.
Rena speaks in a wary tone, "Who are you?" She prepares herself for a battle.
The person doesn't speak and just walks at her slowly. His step is very quiet, almost like his every step doesn't make any voice. Rena quickly ready her stance if the person will attack her any time.
Rena speaks again with a forceful confident tone, "What? Not a single word? Can you hear me?"
The person shakes his head, seems like he doesn't want to talk at all. The person ready his bow at her and pulls out an arrow to aim at her. Rena throws two boomerangs to the air. During that time, she uses her magic to control her boomerangs in the air. She seems like she can keep the boomerangs spinning in the air and can move it anywhere.
As the boomerangs keep moving in the air around her, she mumbles a bit, "I think this is a debut for my new weapons."
A telekinetic magic, that was Rena's magic. She can control every object around her, though she can't lift something that is heavier than her. The person runs towards her to attack her, and Rena ready her knife just in case she has to do a close combat. Rena controls her boomerangs to attack the person, but once the person gets hit by the boomerang, he disappears. The person turned into a mist and there is no sign of his presence. The boomerangs back to her side and are still spinning around her due to Rena's magic.
There is no sign of his presence around her and everything is so white. Rena keeps searching for him but he doesn't show himself at all. There is no voice from his steps. As a mist goes through her cheek, it gets scratched and starts bleeding. It seems like his magic is more dangerous than she imagined.
The person quickly shows himself and attacks her from her blind spot. Rena was able to dodge the attack because of her luck. She composes herself and controls her boomerangs to attack towards the direction, but once she looks at him again he disappears. This is really similar to fighting against a ghost. Rena doesn't seem suited to fight against his magic.
The person keeps attacking Rena from nowhere towards her blind spot over and over. Rena's boomerang keeps defending her blind spots, though it won't last forever. The mist is getting thicker and thicker, and she doesn't have any choice except to stay in her place to defend herself.
The person shows himself and is ready to attack her. Rena prepares herself as well, but then she realizes that the person isn't only one. There are many of him approaching her from many directions, probably created by the mist. To be honest, a knife and two boomerangs won't do anything in this condition.
She keeps attacking the persons one by one, but there are still many of them approaching her from many directions. She needs to remain alert behind her, then her right side, even the top of her. The person keeps attacking her nonstop like he can attack her endlessly. Rena can't help but become exhausted more and more, especially after she maintains her boomerangs in the air for a long time with her magic.
At this point, she can only rely on Lunette since her magic doesn't suit at all. She uses her magic to control a few rocks to help her attack the fake person that was created by mist, but she's having a hard time to find the real one. To be honest, her hands are full right now, she needs to be aware of every direction while waiting for Lunette. Though, the mist is so thick and isolating her from the outside so she can't expect Lunette to find her as well.
"Ugh… Why am I so unlucky this time?" She says while struggling to defend herself.
She stumbles forwards as she is exhausted and the person doesn't let go of the chance. He quickly charges towards her to slash her badge. Rena tries to defend herself, but she doesn't know where the real person was so she is only able to use her luck. She uses her magic to control the rocks and her boomerangs and make them swirl around her to defend herself. Her magic is quite powerful, she only has the wrong opponent, that is what she thought before. After she swirls the rocks and boomerangs, the mist faded slowly and the clones of the person slowly faded as well.
Seems like she's quite lucky right now, but she's already on her limit. She stumbles forward since she is exhausted and the person doesn't let it go. He doesn't give Rena any chance to do something, even to move. He immediately slashes her badge and eliminates her.
The person sighs a bit after eliminating her, it seems like he needs to put more effort to eliminate Rena more than he thought. Lunette found him right after the mist completely disappeared. But before he can rest, Lunette approaches him and attacks him with her sword without any mercy. The person is trying to dodge every Lunette's attack, but her attack causes an explosion and makes him hard to dodge. In no time, Lunette eliminates him and replaces Rena. She's such a brute in a girl's body. Rena was transferred into the waiting room and laying on the couch with a frustrated look.
"Why am I so useless?" She said while holding her tears.
In fact, Lunette was able to eliminate the person because of Rena's hard work with clearing the mist. Though, it was true that she was unable to eliminate her enemy by herself.
After that, I continue to find the others, including Lunette. I arrived at grassland and finally found Lunette.
"Luna!!" Lunette shouts with an excited tone.
I answered her while running towards her, "Lunette. Have you seen someone else?"
I reached right in front of her and listened to her about what happened to Rena. I was surprised about what happened to her, but I think it was something that unexpected since her magic wasn't useful against her enemy's magic. Maybe if she has more mana she probably could win the battle.
Lunette taps my shoulder and smiles at me confidently, "Let's say 'Hi' to Gyrus somewhere. He needs to pay the tax to us after all."
I nodded and followed Lunette from behind. We kept searching for Gyrus somewhere, but we couldn't find him. There are a lot of participants that have already been eliminated as well, there are only three teams after all. Though, our target is Gyrus no matter what.
After spending so much time, we finally find Gyrus standing in the wasteland. We are both surprised by what we see right now. There were four of the participants laying on the ground and were transferred into the waiting room. Seems like he eliminated the rest of the participants by himself. Is he soloing all of them? All of them are from Redione Academy. I guess it's only us against Gyrus now. Maybe it's the time to make him pay for what he did to our teammates.
