Chapter 19 - CHAPTER 18: A FAMILIAR PERSON

Far away in a castle cloaked in darkness and arrogance, Betha screamed like a maniac, a psychopath.

A glass cup smashed into the wall, the shards sparkling briefly before hitting the cold stone floor.

"A girl?!" Betha screamed, her voice echoing off the marble as she threw a golden goblet across the room. It hit the wall and shattered into glimmering pieces.

Her long hair whipped behind her like a storm as she kicked over a velvet chair.

"Damian was with a girl?! During the camp?!"

She tore off her gloves and flung them across the room. Two servants ducked behind the door, afraid to breathe too loudly.

"And now he's vanished again?! After all I've done to find him, after all I've given to become the only Luna, he picks some... human girl?!" She paced, her green eyes wild, lips curled with fury.

She kicked over another chair. The fire crackled higher as her magic surged with rage.

"Find her!" she ordered her shadow spy.

"Find this pathetic human girl he's so fond of, this human girl who's trying to ruin my plans and make sure she regrets ever meeting him."

She stopped, breathing heavily. Her fingernails dug into her palms.

"No one takes him from me," she whispered darkly. "Not some human girl. Not anyone. I Bethany Wilfred will be the only Luna in his life, and I will remove anyone who tries to get in between my plans and dreams"

In Cold Valley town at The Fisher fine Diner,…

The sun was soft, filtering through the windows, golden and gentle. The dinner already open with people having breakfast, it wasn't too crowded, Mr Fisher worked alongside his daughter.

Damian and Kevin stepped through the door, the bell above ringing lightly. He wore a simple black jacket, his hair pushed back, with his fake hazel eyes bright. Kevin wore a simple white t-shirt with a casual denim trousers, they looked like normal human teenagers no one would know one is a wolf prince and the other a wolf accompanying his best friend in search for freedom.

He was hoping to catch a moment with Alison. But instead...He met fire. Two fiery girls were there waiting for him after they heard from Alison that he was back.

"Sara? Kira?" he blinked.

The girls turned sharply at the sound of his voice. Their expressions shifted from surprise to warpath.

"You!," Sara said, walking toward him like a soldier marching to war. "You've got some serious guts to show up here"

Kira folded her arms, her eyes sharp. "So you think you can vanish after hurting her and then waltz back in like nothing happened? You think she is a game?"

"I…I didn't mean…." Damian stammered, but the girls weren't letting him speak.

"She was sad for days, you jerk!" Sara snapped. "Do you have any idea what you did to her?"

He flinched as they were already storming toward him.

At that moment, Kevin stepped in. Calm, casual, but firm.

"Whoa, whoa. Ladies. Easy. Let's not turn this into a WWE match."

Sara turned to him. "Move. Do you want to get punched?"

"No.. Do I look like I want a black eye?" he joked, smiling. "But really, if you're going to fight him, at least let me grab popcorn."

That almost made Kira laugh. Few customers laughed, everyone watched the show even Mr Fisher watched everything. He liked seeing how Alison's friends were ready to protect her and he felt good.

Before the tension could explode, Alison came rushing in from the kitchen, apron still on, hands dusted with flour.

"Hey! What is going on?!" she looked around, eyes wide.

Her friends started talking over each other until Alison raised a hand.

"Outside. Now. All of us."

She led them to the back porch behind the diner, where the wind blew softly, carrying the scent of baked bread and summer leaves.

There, she turned to her girls.

"I know you're mad. You have every right to be," Alison said gently. "I was too."

"He hurt you," Kira said. "And we want him to know how you felt"

"I know," Alison whispered. "But he came back. He apologized. And I believe him."

Sara scoffed. "That's it?"

"No," Alison replied. "He still has a lot to prove. But... I want to give him that chance."

Kira crossed her arms. "Fine. But if he messes up again…"

"I'll break his bones myself," Alison said flatly.

That made them all laugh. Even Damian smiled a little.

He stepped forward. "I mean it, I'll never hurt her again. I'm here to stay."

The girls stared at him long and hard... and then finally, Sara nodded.

"Alright. We're watching you, golden boy." She raised a punch to show him what he will get when he hurts Alison again.

"Are we good now everyone?" Alison asked and they agreed, they went back inside the diner. Alison told them to sit and talk while she continued working in the kitchen.

"So your friends didn't kill him" Mr Fisher asked

"No dad, I saved him" Alison chuckled

…..

Far away in Arvendale, King Varkas sat on his stone throne, face grim. Talking to one of his good friend and his duke, Duke Castiel.

"You want me to go easy on him?" he asked Duke Castiel, raising a brow.

The Duke smiled sadly. "Yes. Because if you don't, you might lose him forever."

Varkas growled. "He's reckless. Defiant."

"He's young and already overwhelmed with future alpha king duties and responsibilities" the Duke replied. "Let him breathe, Varkas. Let him find his own path."

There was silence, then the king asked, "Any news of your daughter?"

Castiel's gaze softened. "We're still searching. We haven't lost hope. Not yet."

Varkas nodded slowly. "Hope... It's a rare thing to keep alive."

"We will find her," Castiel spoke with confidence and assurance

"I hope you do" Varkas spoke calmly

....

That afternoon at the diner, Alison was busy with taking orders and serving customers. She gave the table where her friends, Kevin and Damian sat every now and then smiling at them.

Damian approached Mr. Fisher as he was wiping down the counter.

"Sir… I'd like to take Alison out tomorrow. On a proper date."

Mr. Fisher raised a brow. "A date, huh?"

Damian nodded. "Just a quiet picnic. I'll bring her back home. Promise."

Mr. Fisher studied him for a long time, then smiled. "Alright. But if she comes back sad again.."

"She won't," Damian said with quiet confidence.

"Okay I want her home before night" Mr Fisher spoke firmly

"Okay sir"

....

Meanwhile, Kevin was talking to Sara and Kira at the table inside the diner.

"She's really sweet," Sara said. "Like… too sweet for someone to break."

"She's strong too," Kira added. "But I don't want to see her broken again."

Kevin nodded. "He won't break her. He loves her. More than I've ever seen him love anything. And I've known him my whole life."

"What about you?" Kira asked

"What about me? About what?!" Kevin asked taken back and surprised by Kira's question

"Are you single? Dating or in a situationship, you're always with Damon," Kira asked

"I'm in neither of what you said, I'm always with him because he is my friend. Why are you asking this?" Kevin asked back

"Nothing, just curious" Kira shrugged her shoulders

...…

That night after spending half the day working and a few hours with her friends, Damian and Kevin. Alison tossed and turned in her sleep.

She was dreaming, but this dream was different from those she has been getting.

She saw herself standing in a glowing silver circle. Her silver eyes burned like stars, her hair flowing silver and long. She looked otherworldly, ethereal.

Around her, darkness churned, like a black hole swallowing everything.

She lifted her arms. Light shot from her chest like a blade pushing against the dark. The air cracked, light met darkness. It was powerful, terrifying and beautiful.

She woke with a gasp. Taking her time to calm herself down

She sat up, breath caught in her throat, and stood. Something pulled her to the window.

She peeked through the curtain.

A snow-white wolf moved silently toward the woods. It paused under the moonlight and then… it shifted. Shifted into a man.

She couldn't see his face clearly as his front was facing the woods, Alison only saw his back but her heart whispered, I know you. The person felt familiar,
