Chapter 4 - In Your Arms, I Fear Nothing chapter 4

During the flight to Country A

Elunara clung to Luceniel's arm, resting her head on his shoulder as they sat beside each other on the private plane. The soft hum of the aircraft blended with the faint glow of cabin lights, casting a peaceful atmosphere around them.

Luceniel turned to her and asked gently,

"Hey honey, don't you think you've been a bit clingier today? Did something happen last night?"

Elunara hesitated for a moment, then turned her face toward him.

"Yeah… I had a bad dream again. But this time, it wasn't about war or anything violent. I was just… floating in some kind of void. I can't remember everything clearly, but… I was scared."

As she spoke, she held his arm even tighter.

Luceniel gave her a soft, comforting smile and kissed her forehead.

"Elunara, you don't have to be afraid anymore. Didn't you once say that whenever you're with me, you never have bad dreams?"

Elunara nodded and gave him a gentle smile.

Then she suddenly asked, "Hey, where's Lily? Don't you dare forget my sweet daughter."

Luceniel chuckled.

"How could I ever forget our daughter, honey? You know this is my first time going to Country A, so I set Lily's system to update while we travel."

Elunara, now calmly eating grapes, asked curiously, "And what exactly did you do to her during the update?"

Luceniel smiled and reached over to eat one of the grapes from Elunara's hand.

She blushed slightly at the gesture.

"Well," Luceniel began, "as you know, it took us a whole year to build Lily back in college. She's not fully complete yet—sure, she can control almost every electronic device around her and even take a physical form. But I wanted to improve her awareness. Now, once we land in Country A, she'll be able to scan the surroundings and analyze every person nearby. I rewrote parts of her code and added new functions. When we arrive, she'll be fully operational."

"Until then," he added with a smile, "we're all alone."

Luceniel leaned closer, but Elunara stopped him with a sharp look and scolded,

"Hey, Luceniel, even if we're in a private jet, don't you dare do anything stupid!"

Her cheeks were burning.

A flight attendant overheard the comment and smiled, hiding a soft laugh behind her hand. She seemed charmed by the chemistry between them.

Shortly after, their lunch was served. Elunara checked if anyone was nearby before she picked up a piece of food and tried to feed Luceniel. He had already opened his mouth, waiting patiently. Seeing this, Elunara beamed with happiness and fed him.

Then, closing her eyes, she opened her mouth, expecting Luceniel to return the gesture.

But instead, he leaned in and kissed her.

Elunara didn't look shocked—just mildly disappointed.

Luceniel suddenly felt a cold, ominous wind around him. Sensing the danger, he quickly picked up his food and fed Elunara.

She immediately smiled in delight.

Luceniel sighed in relief and thought to himself,

(I'm never doing that again...)

(I still remember how furious she got back in college when I teased her. She punched me so hard, I nearly lost consciousness.)

Elunara: "You're lucky I love you this much."

Luceniel: "Correction. I love you more. You just caught up."

Elunara: smirks "We'll settle this tonight."

Luceniel: grins "Should I be scared or excited?"

Lily (AI voice): "Based on past data, scared."

After they finished eating, Luceniel pulled out his iPad and began reviewing his robot designs and system checks. Elunara glanced at him from the side.

"Hey," she said with a teasing tone. "Don't we have a lot of work waiting for us in Country A? We should enjoy this peaceful time while it lasts."

Luceniel looked at her with a warm, affectionate smile.

In a soft, slow, and deeply passionate voice, he asked,

"What does my queen desire from her unworthy knight?"

Elunara's heart fluttered. Her cheeks flushed red as she leaned in and kissed him.

They both laughed and headed to their room for some rest.

Three hours later

Elunara was asleep beside Luceniel, wearing his shirt. He quietly drank some water and checked his iPad, reviewing the core systems of the five elemental units he'd designed.

By then, Lily's system had finished updating. She awoke in her mini form and floated onto Luceniel's head.

"Good evening, Father," she said with a cute smile.

Luceniel chuckled. "How do you feel now?"

"I feel great, Dad! I can control every nearby device now, but I think my core needs another update."

Luceniel nodded.

"Yeah, your core will need optimizing after the system update. But don't worry, I've already set up everything in our new home. Once we land in Country A, I'll take care of it. Until then, just rest. No funny business, okay?"

Lily gave a mischievous smile.

"But when is Mom going to wake up? I wanted to say goodnight to her…"

Luceniel cleared his throat nervously.

"Mom needs her rest. She has important work to do once we arrive."

Lily smiled sweetly.

"Don't worry, Dad. I'll help Mom with her work so she can come home early and spend time with us."

She kissed both Luceniel and Elunara on the cheek, then returned to sleep.

One hour later

Luceniel tried to wake Elunara for dinner. She was still half-asleep, eyes barely open. Suddenly, she pulled him down, wrapped her arms around his neck—and bit his lips before kissing him.

Ten minutes later, Luceniel finally managed to free himself. His lips were swollen and his face flushed. When he looked in the mirror, he saw several bite marks on his face and neck.

When Elunara finally woke up fully, she noticed Luceniel sitting beside her, covering his mouth.

She leaned in to check his face, then burst out laughing.

"Honey, why don't you ever stop me from doing that?" she teased.

Luceniel didn't reply—he just whispered something into her ear and quickly walked to the washroom, face still burning red.

Elunara sat on the bed, blushing so hard her body felt hot all over.

Later, Luceniel came out, and Elunara took a shower. After 30 minutes, they had dinner together.

Around 9 p.m., Elunara checked the time.

"How much longer until we reach Country A?"

Luceniel replied, "We'll be there before 3 a.m."

After dinner, they went back to their room to rest again.

Elunara couldn't sleep. She kept thinking about what Luceniel had whispered to her earlier.

Eventually, she fell asleep around 1 a.m.

The Plane Lands in Country A

Luceniel was ready to disembark, but Elunara was still sleeping. Smiling, he gently picked her up in his arms, carrying her in a princess hold.

At the airport, a crowd had gathered to welcome Luceniel—but none of them were there for Elunara.

As Luceniel carried her, a familiar man from a previous encounter approached him with a smile and a polite greeting, asking Luceniel to follow him.

Lily, now perched on Luceniel's head, opened her eyes and warned,

"Dad, don't go with him. He's not a good person."

Luceniel said nothing. He ignored the man and began searching for the contact arranged by Elunara's father.

The man immediately reported back to his boss.

The boss grinned darkly and said,

"You know what you have to do, right?"

"Of course, boss," the man replied with a sinister smile.
