Raijin finally gained his composure and walked towards his father. His father gently smiled at him and said "This is called 'Total Concentration Breathing ' which allows us as humans to reach our peak potential"
"Now do the technique again and tell me what's bothering you" asked Arashi with a serious look. "Its the thunder" said Raijin while on Total Concentration, then looked back at his father.
"Feel the thunder. Ask yourself how does a thunder act? Be the thunder. Be the bolt of lightning that crashes on the ground."
Raijin POV
'Fast, Strong and Unstoppable' These words went through my mind as I focused my mind on the rumbling thunder while in Total Concentration Breathing. I felt the thunder approaching me, and then I imagined myself as the thunder itself.
In a few moments, everything went silent, and I could hear the thunder again, from within me, and as I opened my eyes, everything was slower than me, and I could process things much more faster than I could before.
"This is our Art, I'll teach you our ways but first be habituated to it" said my father and gave me a slight nod.
As if it was a mark, I proceeded to run, and I ran at a speed that was incomprehensible, I reached the end of the hill which had a broken bridge to the other side of the hill. It hit me that I had ran this far within seconds and my father was out of sight , no where to be seen, implying I had come very far.
As i was going to return, something clicked in my head.
I looked back at the edge of the hill with the broken bridge, ran a few steps back, crouched, built up momentum and ran to the edge as fast as I could- i felt the wind smashing against my ears but i felt no pain and could still hear very clearly.
The moment I reached the edge, I jumped and reached almost the height of the trees towering up the hill and then came crashing down on the other side.
I landed safely and still wasn't tired. This stunned me. I did the same jump again and this time it was perfect. I then ran back to my father at an unimaginable speed, the fastest I ever could...except that as I was nearing the temple of the thunder god we were training near of, I started hearing a rumble..
End of POV
Raijin took off the ground with a strong jump as soon as he saw his father, and as he was reaching him-
"Dad you won't beleive wha- " CRACKK. A bolt of lighting struck him. The proud smile on his father suddenly disappeared.
'What the hell just happened? This has never happened before-' though Arashi as he reached the spot Raijin was about to crash on in a blur.
He jumped and caught Raijin in the air , disappeared and reached somewhere else. He then dashed towards the house within mere split seconds and barged in.
He went straight to Nariko and laid Raijin in her bed- "check him up- is he alright?" . It took a while for Nariko to regain her composure but she managed to get back to her senses and started checking up on Rai.
"He's fine- except that he's different..."
*Next morning*
Raijin woke up with a jolt "What the hell happened last night?" He said and went to the loo. He brushed his teeth with his willow twig and looked at the mirror- his chiseled body was usual but he was a bit bulkier , he had a scar branching towards his entire body and he now had electric blue eyes instead of himalayan blue ones.
He completed freshening up and ran to his grandpa's room- hr regained his composure and knocked on the door.
"Come in" Said his father, and Raijin followed.
"Tell me Raijin, what happened last night?"
Raijin explained what all happened to both his father and his grandfather who was also present there. "It seems, the god of thunder has blessed you, young Rai, it seems, you've now merged with the essence of a bolt of lightning with limitless power." Said inazuma gently smiling at Raijin.
"For now, go and have breakfast and then warm-up, we will have our first lesson on how to use our techniques" said Arashi with a gentle and guiding look.
They had a hearty breakfast with old jokes and funny incidents of the Kaminari family , like the one time when Arashi got mad enough to crack Nariko's entire arm. (Talk about character development) Raijin couldn't beleive this as he looked at his nonchalant father who was ever caring.
After lunch, Raijin followed his father through the woods to the same temple of the thunder god and as soon as he reached the area, his father stopped, and did a specific combination of postures kicked the ground hard.
The snow scattered showing a stone platform. His father called upon Raijin and taught him the specific combination.
"This combination is a form of respect for the thunder god, which every kid should learn before proceeding with the techniques of our art."
Arashi then proceeded to guide Raijin through punches, kicks, blocks and parries and various types of them over the next few years.
The Way of Thunder was just as the name said, like thunder. The punches and kicks gained momentum and speed for a much larger impact and the block and parries were swift movements.
The speciality about this art was that it had some movements and tactics that could only be achieved by the 'Total Concentration Breathing'.
Time went on and in 2 years 10 months, Raijin had probably perfected the art more than any descendant ever did.
