Gasps echoed on the mountain as Shaw, the lady, and Klaus looked at him in terror when suddenly a golden light shone from his body with him as the center. A tearing pain filled his body when this golden light appeared it was as though his veins were being pulled by a mysterious force. He couldn't bear it, so roared in pain; his roars echoed. This pain continued for about a minute before the light became dim before disappearing, revealing Leo with sweat all over him. The strangest thing about him now was he looked even more handsome as the paleness on his face disappeared along with the light, a sense of vitality came forth from him. Leo especially felt it much clearer. ,This is the power Shaw was talking about, he thought to himself as he let out a laugh even as his face twitched from pain.
MP: 10/10
You have gained mana power. Congratulations on leveling up; you are now a "1st grade apprentice."
Leo had been shocked by his own power, but soon after he became much more relaxed and confident as he waited to see his next reward. He didn't believe he just gained mana power. A notification popped up soon after.
Congratulations on your first devour. Total points gained" 30"
What? Only 30? After devouring a whole mountain of snow, he was stunned and totally unsatisfied by the points he gained. But what could he do but coldly look at the system? While muttering to himself, "trash,"

What... no! I was supposed to choose where my points should go, not this. His heart ached; what he wanted was strength, or even speed would be a lot better. Thinking about it, he couldn't help but sigh to himself as he looked at the system speechlessly.
My health increased by 50. It should be because I leveled up. That's good. But, soul, isn't it better to have my strength increased? What's the use of my soul power increasing if it can't help in combat? He thought gloomily as he turned to look at Shaw before asking, Brother, have you ever heard of people in this world that battle with their soul?.
Shaw was startled for a moment; actually, he and his brother had been silent the entire time, watching Leo act strangely after coming out of that golden light. Thinking about it, cold sweat couldn't help but cover his face when he thought about Leo's painful roars; he couldn't imagine experiencing something like that. He had never heard of anyone who leveled up experiencing such pain before.
"No, I've never heard of one," he said politely. "This guy isn't someone I should mess with. I hope he didn't notice we had malicious intentions towards him before," he thought about how he wanted to sell Leo to King Clay just to have some benefits.
Hmmm, I see. Thank you, Brother Shaw, for the help today. I will remember it, he said as the coldness he had towards them lessened a bit. At least they gave useful information about this world, and they had not acted against him, at least.
No, no need for that. Actually, that was nothing at all; anyone would have helped you anyway, he said.
Ok, brother Shaw, I will take my leave then, he said before walking off into the distance.
Shaw felt relieved after that; he didn't notice, he muttered to himself.
He turned to his brother and the lady beside him. We should go back home. He said.
They both nodded, not even uttering a word.
Sigh...
Leo was looking at a city gate with interest. There were two words written on the gate: "CLAY CITY." He had been roaming this strange world for 3 days now, and everything here just felt too strange. Everything seemed ancient; it was like a movie. Not getting tired the entire time he spent traveling.
Hey, are you one of the miners? Someone suddenly asked while walking over from his uniform. He seems to be a guard.
Ohh no, I'm not, he said.
Then you shouldn't just stand there. If you want to get in, get the fuck in. The guard said coldly before continuing his patrol.
Leo frowned as he looked at the guard coldly. When the guard met his gaze, he hesitated as he felt pressure from this person. Cold sweat appeared on his forehead as a look of apology appeared on his face. Before he could say a word, Leo walked off.
Feeling relieved, he bowed his head in Leo's direction. This wasn't Earth; this was the world of the strong. You are either the prey or the predator. This was the only rule that existed here. Leo had learned this in the past 3 days.
As Leo mingled with the crowd in the city, he suddenly saw someone he was familiar with from the corner of his eye; his eyes lit up immediately as he walked over. Hello, Brother Shaw.
Ehh. Brother Leo, what are you doing here?
Leo didn't answer as he asked, What about you? What are you doing here?
I live in this city as a miner. He said
Now he was really interested. What do the miners mine?
Shaw hesitated a bit before clenching his teeth. We mine earth crystals in Clay City, he said. This is a secret every miner must keep to himself to avoid the mine location being leaked out. Please never tell anyone I told you, he said. Leo frowned. From what he had just witnessed, he could tell that miners had better status than other people, which was weird.
Maybe I should let go of my earthling mentality a bit, he thought, as he looked around, the humans here were already used to this world.
