Chapter 63 - Like it was always you

EXT. GARDEN – NIGHT – STILL RAINING

They lie side by side in the grass, drenched, laughing, breathless.

But something shifts in the silence between them.

Saif turns his head to look at her — and Mahi's smile fades softly…

Because what she sees in his eyes isn't just affection.

It's love.

Unshaken. Unselfish. Unconditional.

She sits up slowly.

Turns to him.

Her heartbeat races.

Saif looks up at her, confused by the sudden intensity in her eyes.

SAIF (softly):

"Mahi?"

She doesn't speak.

She just reaches down — and cups his face gently in her hands.

He freezes.

Her thumbs trace his cheeks.

Her fingers tremble… but her voice doesn't.

MAHI (barely a whisper):

"I love you, Saif."

His eyes widen.

She says it again — stronger this time, with rain still pouring over them.

MAHI:

"I love you."

Before he can say a word, before he can even breathe —

she leans in…

and kisses him.

It's soft.

Then desperate.

Then deeper.

Years of pain, silence, and longing — poured into a single moment.

Saif's eyes flutter shut.

His hands move — almost afraid to touch her.

But then, as if his soul finally gave in…

he pulls her close.

Tight.

Like he's afraid she'll disappear.

He kisses her back.

Fully. Fiercely.

Their soaked clothes stick to each other.

The rain doesn't matter.

The past doesn't matter.

Only this — them — right now.

She gasps as he pulls her tighter, lifting her slightly as he deepens the kiss.

Her hands move from his cheeks to his soaked hair.

She laughs breathlessly against his lips.

MAHI (between kisses):

"I should've said it before…"

SAIF (low and raspy):

"I waited. I would've waited forever."

He kisses her again.

The rain slows to a drizzle…

But their hearts race like thunder.

They stay like that — tangled, soaked, whole —

two broken pieces finally fitting.

Not because the world approved.

Not because it made sense.

But because love doesn't ask for permission.

It just happens.

INT. MAHI'S ROOM – NIGHT

The rain has stopped.

Inside the cozy room, the soft yellow lights glow like candlelight.

Drops trickle down the windows.

A tiny table fan whirs gently.

Mahi stands in front of the mirror, wrapped in a towel robe, drying her hair with another.

Her long, damp strands fall over her shoulders, water still dripping from the ends.

She hums softly to herself — something light and dreamy.

And then…

She freezes.

Because she feels him.

Saif.

He steps into the room silently, barefoot — shirt loose, hair slightly wet, eyes locked on her reflection in the mirror.

He walks up behind her.

No words.

Just silence.

And heartbeat.

He lifts his hand, brushes her hair from one shoulder gently…

And wraps his arms around her waist from behind.

MAHI (smiling, whisper):

"You're sneaky."

SAIF (against her ear):

"Only for you."

He buries his face into the crook of her neck, pressing a kiss there —

slow and warm.

Mahi closes her eyes.

His lips trail up — soft kiss on her cheek.

She leans back into him, hands finding his around her waist.

MAHI (softly):

"Did you know?

This is the safest I've ever felt in someone's arms."

SAIF:

"I never wanted to hold anyone else."

He turns her around, still close.

Their foreheads touch.

Their breaths mingle.

His hand cups her cheek.

SAIF (whispers):

"Tell me you're mine, Mahi."

She nods, voice trembling but sure.

MAHI:

"I'm yours, Saif."

He kisses her again —

not desperate like before

but deep, intentional.

A kiss that feels like forever.

INT. BEDROOM – MOMENTS LATER

They lie on the bed, fully clothed, under a shared blanket.

Not speaking.

Not sleeping.

Just looking at each other.

Mahi rests her head on Saif's chest, fingers tracing small patterns on his shirt.

MAHI (whispers):

"Promise me something?"

SAIF:

"Anything."

MAHI:

"Don't leave first.

Not in this lifetime."

SAIF (tightening his hold):

"Then stay long enough to be my forever."
