Chapter 30 - I am not going to lose you again

EXT. BRIDGE – CITY NIGHT

The wind picks up, cold and sharp, sweeping through the quiet streets and rattling the leaves.

Mahi stands by the bridge railing, her hair wild, her chest heaving from suppressed sobs. Her eyes are wide — distant. The city lights reflect off the water below, but she doesn't see them.

She doesn't see anything anymore.

Just memory. Just pain.

Just betrayal.

Her voice cracks through the night.

MAHI (whispering):

"Why did you come into my life if you were never going to stay?"

Behind her, Saif stands frozen — torn, scared, helpless.

SAIF (softly):

"Mahi… please don't do this. Let's go back. Let's talk. Just don't shut me out like this."

But she doesn't hear him. Or maybe she does, but she's not present anymore.

Her mind flashes — a rush of scenes.

---

FLASHES – FROM MAHI'S MEMORY

— Ahaan laughing as he holds two cups of coffee.

— Ahaan holding her during a thunderstorm.

— Ahaan whispering "You're safe now" after saving her.

— Ahaan kissing Mishri.

---

BACK TO PRESENT – EXT. BRIDGE

MAHI (screaming, breaking):

"I LOVED YOU!"

She drops to her knees for a second, clutching her head, unable to breathe, unable to think.

SAIF (moving closer):

"Mahi, I'm here. I saw everything. You don't have to say a word. Just come with me. Let me—"

She gets up suddenly and runs.

MAHI:

"Don't follow me, Saif! I don't want anyone! I want to disappear!"

---

EXT. DESERTED ROAD – CONTINUOUS

Mahi runs blindly through the city streets. Her slippers barely hold, her breathing shallow. Tears stream down her face as she stumbles past shops, through a red light, through honking cars.

Her surroundings blur.

Everything is noise.

Everything is memory.

Everything is pain.

She crosses the road in the middle of speeding traffic — unaware, uncaring.

---

EXT. STREET INTERSECTION – SECONDS LATER

A loud horn blasts.

Headlights blind the frame.

A speeding black car races down the slope, trying to brake—

But it's too late.

BANG!

The impact throws Mahi into the air.

She crashes onto the ground with a sickening thud. Her body rolls once, then lies still.

---

EXT. ROAD – AFTER THE CRASH

Screams erupt. Someone yells for help.

The driver gets out, trembling. Pedestrians rush to the scene.

Saif reaches her seconds later — panting, wild-eyed, horrified.

He pushes through the small crowd and falls to his knees beside her.

MAHI'S face is pale. Blood drips from her forehead. Her hands twitch slightly. Her lips try to move.

SAIF (shaking):

"Mahi. Mahi, don't close your eyes.

I'm here, I'm right here!"

She tries to focus. Her vision is fading. She sees a shadow — Saif's face above her — broken, desperate.

MAHI (barely a whisper):

"Why… does it still hurt?"

Her eyes roll back. She goes still.

SAIF (screaming):

"HELP! SOMEBODY CALL THE DOCTOR!

MAHI—STAY WITH ME!

STAY WITH ME, PLEASE!"

Blood spreads across the asphalt.

The sound of sirens in the distance.

Saif holds her hand — cold, trembling — refusing to let go.

And in that moment, as the world swirls into chaos around him…

he realizes:

He may lose her.

And this time — he might never get her back.
