The Yamanaka rogues weren't being hunted by Anbu for leaking clan secrets—they'd developed a new variation of the technique so debauched it could doom the Yamanaka entirely.
Mind Body Switch Reversal Technique—a synchronized dual-cast between a man and a woman. Mutual possession. Ultimate sensation.
What Yamanaka could resist that temptation?
The clan didn't send their own to execute the rogues likely out of fear—fear of being corrupted themselves.
Those two ex-border Yamanaka that the traitors had recruited? Proof enough how seductive the "I-fuck-myself" jutsu truly was.
Utter degeneration.
To preserve the clan's integrity, they had no choice but to request Anbu intervention.
And so, Team Fox was sent in.
With Yamanaka Riko—codename Purple Cat—watching over the execution, Anbu could ensure she wouldn't succumb either.
Only Yako suffered.
His eyes were tainted.
His soul ached.
Jealousy stabbed like kunai through his ribs.
Yako swore then—he would master every jutsu in the shinobi world. Every forbidden art. Every secret technique.
He hadn't crossed into this world just to survive—he came to experience it.
After the explosion, hot mist engulfed the private bath.
Four naked bodies flailed in panic.
"Switch back! Switch back now!"
"There's no time!"
Their bodies had just climaxed—nerves dulled, movements sluggish, chakra control shot. They stumbled, fumbled, tried to fight barehanded.
Charging ahead was a woman with a man's soul inside her.
He had the guts to be first to intercept—but he was still in a woman's body. Couldn't bring out his full strength.
Through the steam, Yako slashed sideways.
The possessed woman snatched a tray to block.
But Yako's Cloud Flow Sword Style suddenly switched from a horizontal arc to an upward slice—cutting open her throat clean.
Double reaction speed. Adaptive strikes mid-fight. Cloud Flow lived up to its name.
Behind her, a man shrieked in agony.
The Mind Body Switch Reversal was forcibly severed.
He felt the pain of a slit throat. She took on the full weight of death.
His soul slammed back into his original body, wailing her name in anguish.
They were heretics—soul and flesh perfectly synced. The death of one made the other wish for death.
"Aaahhh!!"
The man raised his hands, forming a box with his fingers. "Mind Bo—"
A kunai shot straight through the middle of that box.
Right into his chest.
Blood exploded from the wound.
As expected of Anbu. Ruthless. Precise.
Yako turned.
Antelope and Black Ox had already eliminated one female rogue.
Nearby, the other Yamanaka ninja lay scorched—body torn by explosive tags.
All four rogues—terminated.
Yako looked toward Purple Cat, about to ask how to handle the corpses.
Then—
Black Ox suddenly lunged, kunai slashing at Yako's side.
"Black Ox! What are you doing?!"
Antelope's scream came too late.
Yako, holding his blade reversed, reflexively stabbed behind him.
Before Black Ox's kunai reached Yako's ribs, the Anbu blade had already pierced through his throat.
"No!"
Purple Cat rushed toward the scorched male Yamanaka—he wasn't dead. Lower half blown off, but still conscious.
He'd used one last Mind Body Switch.
Purple Cat drove her kunai into his skull.
Yako withdrew his sword, looking regretfully at Black Ox.
Shame. Another comrade gone.
He walked up beside Purple Cat, staring at the kunai embedded in the traitor's head.
"Purple Cat, that was reckless.
First—after Black Ox died, you acted impulsively. You're our support ninja. You can't just rush in.
Second—his brain might have held crucial intel. Stabbing the head risks destroying memory structures."
"I'm sorry, Captain… I acted on instinct. I just wanted to make sure he was dead."
Angry banging erupted outside the bathhouse.
The explosion had blown the roof clean off.
The bathhouse owner arrived with armed guards, demanding answers.
Yako had no interest in talking.
Ninjas always caused collateral damage during missions. Anbu never compensated.
"Grab all the bodies. We're leaving."
Including Black Ox, there were now five corpses.
Yako wrapped two in a bath towel. Antelope hoisted two. Purple Cat carried one. The three quickly withdrew.
Once far from the town, Yako allowed them to rest.
Purple Cat nervously approached him.
"Captain, I'm sorry… because of our Yamanaka Clan…"
"Purple Cat," Yako interrupted. "I really don't want to lecture you, but here you go again.
You must always guard your secrets.
Anbu rarely uses jutsu in combat. Mostly taijutsu and explosive tags—to protect intel.
If we expose our abilities, we become prime targets for enemy infiltration.
That kind-looking old man you pass on the street? Might be a mid-level Anbu squad leader by night.
Outside of missions—don't speak about yourself.
Mission comes first.
And don't carry guilt over a teammate's death. That emotion has no place in Anbu.
Black Ox died honorably. On mission.
He was compromised. I killed him without hesitation.
If I hadn't, I'd be the one dead."
Yako had found Purple Cat's emotional volatility irritating, but then again—part of a captain's job was morale.
Keeping their spirits sharp meant higher mission success—and a better shot at staying alive.
He added patiently:
"That Purple Cat mask of yours… it used to belong to a former teammate of mine.
He died right in front of me. One of my best combat partners.
I'll die someday. So will you.
When I'm gone, someone else will wear this Fox mask.
Finishing Anbu missions before you die—that's the only real requirement we have."
Many Anbu deaths stemmed from Danzo's leadership style.
Danzo sent teams to probe for enemy intel, letting Anbu take the fall while he stayed back—either to pick up the spoils or quietly retreat.
Just like in canon—when Danzo led the raid in Amegakure that got Yahiko killed, or when he watched calmly as his best Root agents fell to Obito and Sasuke.
Purple Cat bowed deeply. "I understand, Captain. I'll adjust. I'll become a real Anbu."
Black Ox's death hit Antelope hard too.
Only Yako, who'd survived the carnage of the Uzushio campaign, truly understood—death is Anbu's constant companion.
By dawn, they returned to the Forest of Death base.
Yako reported to Captain Black Ape.
Black Ape read the mission scroll. "You even killed two extra rogue-nin. The Yamanaka will be pleased.
Oh—Black Ox died? I'll request a new one from Root tomorrow."
His tone was as casual as asking for a new kunai.
Then he added:
"Your two subordinates have followed you for over two months. Lucky pair—lived this long.
Most of our missions lately have been in the village.
Only field missions test real Anbu grit. Make sure Purple Cat and Antelope train harder. No slacking."
Yako replied, "Understood. I'll push their training. Captain, I'd like to request assignment back to monitoring the Uzumaki Princess. I've gone two days without seeing her… it feels off."
"Seriously? You're that into it?
Fine, then no days off. You're back on her detail tomorrow."
